Albergo Ristorante della Posta

Very friendly and helpful people. Wonderful staff. Between the staff all Swiss languages are spoken and English as well. Great food! Great location in the heart of Morcote. Rooms overlooking the lake are quiet after dark even with the restaurant balcony right underneath. This hotel and restaurant are now on my list of visiting destinations for more return visits.

We recently stayed in the Albergo-Ristorante della Posta hotel. Probably our favorite hotel/location on our two week journey. The town of Morcote (Switzerland) is so charming and this hotel has a perfect location on the lake. The staff was lovely and very helpful. The room was sufficient (nothing fancy) but clean and quiet! If you are looking for a quiet, charming, small village, this is a perfect choice. The restaurant attached to the hotel is wonderful as well. I highly recommend this hotel!

On Saturday, October 19th, I went to this restaurant for dinner for the third time. Because the previous two dining experiences were great, I ordered the lobster spaghetti again. But this time I was completely disappointed. The lobster tasted like rotten meat in my mouth. It was not solid and had no flavor of seafood. The shell of the lobster was black. I grew up eating seafood at the beach. How could you fool me? I was polite and lowered my volume (so as not to disturb other customers) and told the waiter, but the waiter's attitude was also very bad. He just told me rudely that if you don't feel good about it, don't eat it. I will definitely not go to this restaurant again.

Great location. Food not so great. Unfortunately the gnocchi in tomato sauce and basil was the worst I've had. Boiled gnocchi mixed in with tinned tomatoes for 25francs!! Could have added some seasoning or even added some fresh chopped tomatoes into it. Expensive and underwhelming

Fantastic!!! I booked a lakeview room with them and my stay has exceeded all expectations. The rooms are exactly as expected in the Albergo and the views were amazing, but it was the kind service of the staff that made this such a wonderful stay. No question was too much, always with a big smile and Italian warmth, from the owners to the waiters, everybody was so incredibly kind. I have traveled to many hotels, and maybe this has been my favorite one around the world? I will definitely visit again. Thank you.

We visited the Restaurant Posta and the staff was extremely friendly, providing good service and wine recommendations and were very accommodating to our dog. Highly recommend going there on a nice weather day and eating on the lake!

We had an excellent stay. Nice room, clean, great breakfast and excellent location. Only issue for us was climbing three stairs carrying our luggage was not easy as there was no elevator. But it was great.

Visited for lunch whilst touring around Morcote. Thoroughly enjoyed spaghetti vongole and pizza. I recommend the pasta more than pizza which had plenty of clams, good balance of seasoning. I was surprised as sat down for the views but enjoyed my pasta. **I recommend sitting upstairs rather than down near the lake as it has better stunning views. Found out whilst visiting bathroom upstairs!

The best Ristorante in the lovely romantic little town of Morcote. Its located right by the lake with even an upstairs dining area. The staff are super friendly and helpful, speaking multiple languages. Will come back!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Amazing service and food. I dine here a lot and never have left disappointed. Great pasta, Wiener schnitzel, salad, and pizza! Wonderful atmosphere and clientele.

I couldn't wait for this place to open (it's a seasonal business, so in winter it's closed) because everybody in Morcote was recommending it to me since my arrival. They brag about having the best pizza in town, and they are possibly right. The dough is home-made (or so they say), and they make it millimetre thin (which I personally prefer). They are the only ones owing a wood oven, which improves the taste. Two surprises. The neutral one: the place is huge! Morcote's orography has me used to tiny places in which you almost have to live in vertical. The positive surprise: I found the strangest pizza so far. Meat pizza. With horse meat. And ostrich. Seasoned with café de Paris sauce. Of course I had to order that one!
