When I arrived at the albergo, I felt like I’d stepped into a little utopia. The owner is a sweet retired professor who runs the place with his wife and son, and the service is amazing. If you have any questions about the history of the albergo, the town, or the food, they’ll make sure you get every detail. Dinner always came with antipasto, primo piatto, secondo piatto, and a bottle of wine. all delicious and made with ingredients from their own farm. Breakfast was incredible too, with fresh homemade pastries, dreamy ricotta cheese, and homemade jams. I still dream about the lime jam I tried there. There aren’t enough words to describe their kindness, hospitality, and truly outstanding service. I’d come back a thousand times. There’s no better experience in Morano Calabro (and even if you stay somewhere else, you should definitely go eat at Villa San Domenico at least once) Grazie mille Tonino!!!!

We enjoyed an amazing dinner featuring delicious, locally sourced homemade specialties prepared with products from their own farm. The wine, antipasti, main course, and meat dishes were all excellent and offered at a very fair price. Each room boasts a breathtaking view of the distant mountains, and the staff is caring, attentive to every detail, and genuinely lovely. Thank you for giving our family the perfect weekend getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay at Albergo Ristorante Villa San Domenico. We were passing through this magical medieval town on our way to Puglia and could not have picked a better place to stop. The hotel is full of history and charm and the staff made us feel right at home. They were incredibly accommodating with our dog which meant a lot to us. The highlight of our stay was being introduced to their local traditional cuisine. The food was authentic, full of flavor, and gave us a true taste of the region. It was an experience we will never forget. This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to combine history, hospitality, and authentic Italian culture. We left with unforgettable memories and cannot recommend it enough.

Lovely old building which is now a delightful family run hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and loved our room with the amazing view. The room was spotless and comfortable. The food was amazing, all home cooked for you and beautifully explained by Roman. We would definitely recommend and would love to return.

We had a nice stay in Morano Calabro. If you want an authentic Italian experience then this is the hotel for you. Very welcoming owners, home cooked food, you feel like house guests rather than diners in a restaurant.||We did find the bed and pillows very firm and didn't have the best nights sleep but that could be just personal preference.||I think my main tip for staying in Morano Calabro is that one night is probably enough. If you arrive at check in time and depart at checkout, that gives you more than enough time to walk to the top of the town and enjoy the scenery - which is beautiful.||There is very little else in the town in terms of nice cafes or restaurants. We stayed two nights and for the first time in our Italian trip we were actually a bit bored and could have left a day early. That is no reflection on the hotel though.||Do go to Morano, do stay here, but 1 night only

If you’re driving through another Italy, you must stop here for a night!|The town is beautiful at night! The family who cares for the villa, really makes you feel at home.||From their elaborate dinner of all organic local products, to the breakfast.||The rooms are dated and older, but I would 100% come back again! They are also dog friendly

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at this lovely quaint small hotel that was once a monastery. It was one of our highlight experiences while travelling 3 weeks in Italy. Free parking is on site.||Morano is a small mountain town with few tourists. We planned to eat our dinners at the villa both nights and we were not only pleased but the meals exceeded our expectations. Delicious authentic homecooked meals using local produce included an appetizer, fresh pasta, meat dishes and dessert was offered each night as well as their homemade liquors. We indeed felt like special guests in someone's home. Prices were very reasonable.||The rooms were clean and spacious with lots of room to unpack, as well as being able to easily relax. We stayed in Rooms 101 and 102. Both very nice rooms offering a view of the mountains. Room 101 was the larger, more brighter room as to accommodate our son and his family. The bathrooms were large and well equipped.||We really enjoyed our stay at Villa San Domenico and have fond memories of our stay.|Grazie mille.

As a world travelers, we have been Italy many times to find for relaxation and interest. This hotel has 500 years of history and has the most gracious and kind folks running it. Not only The room is very spacious, but also the view from the room was magnificent. We feel we are at home, we will be back many more years.
