Disappointing Experience
Last September, due to heavy rainfall, we had to cut our bike trip short and ended up staying at this hotel. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
First, the pricing felt exploitative. As one of only two hotels after the Splügen Pass, they charged us €180 for a 3-person room, even though we were only two guests. The room itself felt more like a basic cabin and didn’t justify the high price.
The service was also underwhelming. The staff seemed irritable and unwelcoming, which added to our discomfort. The worst part, however, was the laundry service. Instead of washing and drying our clothes, they only dried them—leaving us with dirty, warm clothes. Who dries unwashed laundry? To make matters worse, they charged us an additional €15 for this incomplete service without informing us beforehand. For context, running a high-powered dryer (3000W) for two hours in Italy (~0,12€/kWh) costs approximately €0.72, making this surcharge seem excessive.
Overall, the combination of overpriced accommodations, poor service, and lack of transparency left us deeply disappointed.
