Albert-Kahn Museum and Garden

Look no further, this is THE Parisian hidden gem. A dreamlike Japanese garden tucked away in the hustle and bustle of Paris. The renovated museum is very well curated with great interactive exhibits, but the highlight clearly is the garden, with its variety of styles and cultures blending so well. It's a very peaceful and gorgeous place, not yet taken over by tourists, and for those of you looking to propose on your Parisian adventure, the belvedere is a perfect romantic spot. You can easily see everything within a couple of hours, and the metro is directly across. You won't regret a visit!

A perfect garden, it's very clean there, everything is perfect. Our favorite part is the Japanese garden, so amazing as you wish to come back again and again! Amazing beauty, amazing view! We'll come back for sure to admire the park in different seasons! The host is amazing, explains everything, very polite Ladies. The guardian who was in charge in the afternoon (and exactly the man of African origin) is a super gentle and polite person, attentive to everyone who entered and who left the garden

A must for garden/green lovers in any season. Highly recommended! Your ticket is available the entire day; therefore, you can start early your garden tour, exit to enjoy nearby your lunch and return during the same day to explore the rest of the garden. Enjoy!

This hidden gem of a museum feels like a peaceful escape from the city. The photography collection is impressive and truly transports you to the past. The artificial garden is surprisingly immersive, beautifully recreating natural ecosystems and showcasing different garden styles, absolutely worth a visit. However, the online ticketing system doesn’t work, so tickets can only be purchased on-site. On a regular Friday, the front desk was shockingly inefficient… possibly due to untrained temporary summer staff, and lacked basic professionalism and courtesy.; Signage to the garden was also very unclear.

Amazing experience, great value for money. Very inspiring life story, super informative exhibition with translated signs (french-english available). Wasn’t crowded on a Saturday.

Don’t forget to show your ID if you’re under 26 because it’s free to enter. Loved the Japanese garden! But I don’t know if it was worth one hour trip because I found it too far and you could find several similar gardens around the city center as well. But just amazed by how genius the architect is and I had a very relaxing time.

Come for the garden, stay for the fantastic homage to photography. Albert Kahn sponsored one of the first world wide expedition of photography in the 1910s. Amazing content.

The garden is huge. For some part, you feel like you are in the forest. The Japanese garden makes you calm and peaceful.

Yelp
Peaceful and absolutely beautiful! Would highly recommend to visit this park. You will especially enjoy it on the hot summer day. It takes only about 10-15 minutes by car to get here from the Eiffel Tower.

Yelp
One of my favourite outdoor spaces in the whole of Paris. The Albert Kahn musuem is a breath of fresh air and provides something a bit more interesting than all of the manicured gardens in central Paris. A welcome sanctuary for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet. Best time to come is in the Spring when the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom Wandering around the gardens made me slightly nostalgic for my home in England which is nestled in the heart of the Somerset countryside. If I'm ever missing home I always come here and pass through the quaint Japanese gardens to the comfort of the English rose gardens.

Yelp
I can't recommend this museum and garden enough. The museum provides a clear and well-curated introduction to his life and interests. Kahn was a successful banker who devoted himself to cataloging the different people of the world through photography. (His ultimate goal was to promote world peace.) The photography and accompanying film clips are amazing. There is footage of Maréchal Foch visiting the Dakota and Crow tribes, images of Loïe Fuller dancing in Kahn's back yard, stills of the Seine overflowing, vets on parade after WWI... Fascinating stuff. And the gardens are beautiful. You can't picnic in them, but you're welcome to sit and read and just hang out. Considering all that, the very low ticket prices (free for students, 2.50 tarif reduit) make it a great outing.
