Tried the lemon and honey frozen yogurt. It was really good! The yogurt had a rather milky taste and was just the right balance of sweet and sour. Not sure if it was a temporary issue, but my Google Pay didn't seem to work. It might be safer to bring some cash or a physical card along.

Google
The place is really cool, it is like a hidden gem. I tried two flavours lemon basilicum and mango and both were mouthwatering 🤤🤤 and the staff is really friendly Generally highly recommended when you are in Cinque Terre and want to grab a delicious ice cream. But if you are going to corniglia by train, you will climb very long stairs up to the city center where the place is

Google
After hiking stopped by, recommended by a friend that visited years ago, and well worth it! Delicious! Creamy! Great flavor! Super service and super clean. A definite stop during your visit.

Google
Delicious and refreshing gelato!! We tried the cherry crunch, lemon, lemon basil and a crema. Their flavours were super fresh more particularly the lemon and lemon basil. The lemon wasn't too sour like most places, and the lemon basil had a good fresh basil flavour with a hint of lemon. Definitely check this place out for fun flavours that you can't get other places! The shop itself is quite small and crowded though, but definitely worth the hassle to order

Google
Basil flavor is fresh, that’s all. For 3 euros they give very little ice cream. Service is awful. I guess blockers make them popular which makes them not caring about guests.

Google
Love the cute interior & exterior of the shop, what’s better is the delicious gelato we had!! Ordered the medium cone with up to 3 flavours for 4 euros, enjoyed every mouth till the end

Google
The basil gelato/lemon and basil gelato from here is gorgeous. And I think my husband tried all the other flavours available and approved them all lol This is THE place to come for gelato in Cinque Terre. Other towns just don't do gelato (or other food for that matter) like Corniglia. The freshly squeezed juices here too are stunning. Highly highly recommend 👍🏼

Google
Great gelato and great milkshakes served with a friendly attitude from the staff. There’s also a large variety on the menu including crepes and other frozen goodies which is nice to see. If you’re looking for a treat after dinner or on a hot day, look no further.

Yelp
Best gelato we've had in Cinque Terre so far! We heard great things about the basil gelato, and after climbing those BRUTAL stairs, we deserved a treat. There was a bit of a line but so worth it! You can get several things here - juice, gelato, slushie (granite), etc. We opted for the basil gelato and lemon slushie - both were so tart and refreshing! Be prepared for your mouth to pucker with the slushie. Basil works surprisingly so well in the gelato, and it's fresh! We didn't care for the cookie in it but the flavor made up for it. A must if you're in Corniglia!

Yelp
If you stop in Corniglia and decide to make the trek up to this place it will be definitely worth it. Best gelato in Italy so far. Be wary. There are a lot of stairs. Mango was delish. And so was the Nutella one. So so good. Also stop at the super cute store across the street. I picked up some handmade jewelry for my girls. So cute

Yelp
We were told to go here by our AirBnb host- what a prime recommendation. It was such a cute location to enjoy gelato and I had the lemon and the basil gelato which was so flavorful and refreshing on a warm day.

Yelp
Best Gelato in Corniglia. There are 3 shops in close proximity, but this was the better one.

Yelp
Some unique gelato flavors here! We were drawn in with the sign outside that said "gelato made from basil from our garden". ooooooh, I'm intrigued. So we had to try....basil gelato with extra virgin olive oil. Robust flavors, the combo worked!
google avatar

Yelp
Cheers for unique gelato flavors and fresh, local ingredients! I do try to eat mostly plant-based, however when in Italy I couldn't help but enjoy some gelato. I am a hugee fan of basil in general so naturally I had to order the basil flavored gelato. It's both refreshing and mildly sweet. Very well-balanced I would say! They had kiddie sized scoops so I (unfortunately) ordered one of those since I didn't want to spoil my dinner... I kind of wished I got a size up though ha. My sister thoroughly enjoyed her lemon sugar crepe. There aren't places to sit so enjoy your treats pressed up against a wall in the shade. The prices seemed pretty standard, and the employees behind the counter were nice enough. Grazie!

Yelp
The guys running this shop are a lot of fun, which in turn makes your entire experience more fun and fulfilling. So, Alberto Gelateria is best known for their basil gelato. And yes, it is pretty tasty. There are a bunch more flavors to choose from as well. Being partial to coffee flavored gelato, I tried ordering a scoop of that & the basil and got scolded. I appreciate that honesty and sort of homey feeling. Wound up pairing the basil with pistachio & of course, that was the way to go. Some of the charm definitely comes from where Alberto Gelateria is situated. It's down a super cute and tiny, fairytale-like, street. And of course there's a giant gelato magnet (somewhere), that draws you down the steps into Alberto Gelateria so you can grab the good stuff while on your walk through this adorable little city. Stop by and show these guys some love.

Yelp
I had lemon gelatta and a basil gelatta. Delicious!! And then it was fun to walk around the village.

Yelp
Great way to cool off in Cinque Terre, esp after A LOT of stairs to get to this place! We tried the lemon and the basil lemon slushy (would consider the basil-lemon to be a 'must-try') and it definitely did not disappoint.

Yelp
A gelato place with my name on it (sorta), Alberto Gelateria is a very popular gelateria in this area. And if it's good enough for travel extraordinaire Rick Steves to recommend, then it's good enough for me. And if you don't know who Rick Steves is, for shame - he probably has the best youtube video to watch if you're interested in visiting Cinque Terre. But enough of Steves! We stumbled into Alberto Gelateria after walking up more than 350 steps (!!!) to get into Corniglia's main street, where the gelateria was located at. Though it seems to inhabit a sub-level of the building it's a part of, Alberto Gelateria offers a welcoming, bright, and airy environment respite from the warmer weather outside. We got the honey and pistachio flavors and I really did like how admire how light each flavor was in both texture and taste. In addition, the scoops of gelato were large enough for my gf and I to share. If you're hankering for something sweet and providing you want a workout when you're visiting Corniglia (or just all of Cinque Terre), Alberto Gelateria is the definitive place to go for gelato.

Yelp
Worth the ton of stairs you need to walk to enjoy this place. Because Cinque Terre is known for their basil and lemon, I was told I needed to try it. Not going to hold it against them, because that really isn't my flavor of choice, but if you like frozen lemonade, I think you'll enjoy it. The chocolate was to die for! Yum! If you're struggling on those stairs, just keep chanting to yourself "gelato! gelato! gelato!" and I promise, what you receive when you get there is well worth it.

Yelp
Although we have had a ton of really tasty gelato in Italy, I think the most memorable ones were in the Cinque Terre region. The quality varies quite a bit across different shops and there are many of them, so we always checked reviews online to avoid wasting our sugar quota. Note that Cinque Terre is known for their locally produced honey, lemons, and basil. The staff recommended exactly this trio, so I went for it. The tangy and sweet lemon paired well with the unique and refreshing basil. Add in their creamy and milky honey flavour? It was one killer combo. Alberto really nailed the level of sweetness in their gelato, it was perfect for our palates. We bought the Cinque Terre pass, so we took the bus up to Corniglia as opposed to trekking up the stairway. However, we enjoyed walking off the gelato down the staircase, which took us directly to the train station.

Yelp
Corniglia is one of the five towns in the Cinque Terre region, but the only one that is up on the cliff instead of by the ocean. You can either trek up the stairs to the town or catch a bus up. Just know that when you reach the quaint town of Corniglia, you'll have a treat at this gelateria! All flavors are made by the owner himself & he has a good selection. I opted for the tiramisu gelato & it did not disappoint! Perfect for walking around & keeping you cool on your exploration. Hubs got the basil which was surprisingly good as well. Definitely one of the cuter gelaterias I've run into :)

Yelp
Arrived after a hike between vernazza and Corniglia, and this was our treat!!! The flavors are very unique. I got the basil honey and my friend got honey peach. I wish I got the peach because it was so refreshing and had a kick of rosemary in it. Nevertheless, the basil honey was delicious, the basil tasted like pesto and was savory. The combination together though was something I had never had before!

Yelp
If you want gelato in Corniglia, you gotta earn it by walking up seemingly endless stairs. It's worth it! Alberto Gelateria caught my eye with a sign that said "vegan gelato!" Well hello lover. I stepped in and was greeted by two friendly guys behind the counter, who pointed out their vegan options (fruit flavors and chocolate). I opted for strawberry and chocolate. He scooped, put a cookie on top, and...gave it to his co-worker. "I forgot, the cookie isn't vegan, let me try again." That was so thoughtful! The gelato was so creamy. The chocolate wasn't nearly as dark as some vegan chocolate gelatos I've had, which was nice. It paired with the strawberry beautifully. It was the best texture, I savored every bite.

Yelp
It's probably a crime for me to rate Alberto Gelateria just three stars, especially after hiking those Corniglia stairs, but for me Alberto Gelateria was just another gelateria. The miele di Corniglia and coconut flavors were too subtle to the point of being bland. The lemon granita was extremely tart. I guess you can say there are really no added sugars here and everything is in its natural state. What I did like about Alberto Gelateria was it's cuteness, variety, colors, giant lemons, and the little waffle wafer cookie they served on top of their gelato. However, cuteness and gelato only gets you so far until it's time to continue on to the next village!

Yelp
I went to cinque terre last fall with my boyfriend and being the foodie that I am, I had a list of places I wanted to try! Honey gelato was on that list! Alberto Gelateria is in Corniglia, one of the 5 towns in cinque terre. PREPARE TO WALK UP A SHIT TON OF STAIRS! The honey gelato was definitely a reward at the end! We literally came for the gelato and walked around a bit and left!

Yelp
I had their basil gelato special, which is a small scoop of basil gelato drizzled with olive oil and served with a savory cracker (I think the cracker had rosemary in it). I expected it to be kind of a gimmick and thought the gelato might just taste like nothing (like the touristy lobster ice cream I've had in Maine) but it was actually delicious! It had a strong basil flavor but it wasn't overwhelming and it paired really well with the olive oil. I don't know that I would have wanted to eat a giant bowl of it but a small scoop was cool and refreshing after a long hike. The texture was good too, very creamy and rich and not icy. Photos and my summary of where else we ate in Cinque Terre can be found here: https://destinationsanddesserts.com/2017/07/03/cinque-terre-food-guide/

Yelp
the gelato was good but the walk up to corniglia made the gelato taste even better. Th 300 something steps up the gelato place wasn't terrible but definitely intimidating especially after a hike. BUT fear not! There is a bus that will bring up to corniglia from the train station. The honey flavor was subtle and yummy. The basil flavor tasted great if you're into herb flavors. I personally really liked it but my friend not so much. lol Hazelnut was good and can't really be messed up. We actually didn't remember the name of the gelato place so we were just wondering around. If you also like me don't remember the names of places there are two gelato places on the same street! don't get them confused!
google avatar

Yelp
Mango and coconut gelato so yummy! This Gelataria is one of the best gelato I have tasted so far in my stay in Cinque Terre so much so I turned around the same night before leaving for the station and got a second helping. :) this is my favorite so far in this area it rivals the taste buds of that in Firenze called La Carraia.
google avatar

Yelp
Best gelato I had in the Cinque Terre, including Levanto. The honey is sublime, and the basil is very interesting and good, well worth trying. Pay them a visit, you'll be glad you did.
google avatar

Yelp
The only place we ate in this town and it satisfied us. Great fresh gelato and cannolis. Friendly staff. Such a small town with great service
google avatar

Susy W.

Yelp
After hiking around Cinque Terre, this is a great stop in Corniglia! I wasn't very interested in Corniglia due to it not having access to water, but this stop was well worth it. Get the large lemon granita and basil gelato combo. SUPER refreshing - I still think about it today!
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
Maybe my favorite ice cream out of at least a half dozen places we tried in Italy over two weeks (don't judge). I read a review that said the BASIL gelato was good, so I went for it and I was not disappointed. I can still taste it and I'd recommend it if you're even remotely considering it! Service was quick and friendly. Not much room to sit inside, so grab your treat and enjoy the cozy little town. The perfect reward after a day of hiking! YumYumYummy!

Bob P.

Yelp
We took the side of Rick Steves in the Corniglia gelato wars. They have both unusual and traditional flavors. The lemon flavor was the best flavor I've had in Italy. It's also worth trying basil and honey. Skip the other places in town and go for this on
google avatar

Yelp
Homemade gelato!!! The local honey and hazelnut flavors were amazing!! Best gelato I've ever had- so glad I yelped gelato- because there are a bunch of shops selling it on this street- and you can really taste the difference here!
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
It was a nice treat to visit Alberto Gelateria after walking up the stairs to reach Corniglia. While I am not a huge fan of honey, the honey gelato flavor is so refreshing on a warm day. I also got mango, which was very good. Be sure to drop by!
google avatar

Jeffrey Z.

Yelp
I'd give Alberto 10 stars if I could. We stayed in Corniglia for four nights. And I came here four nights in a row. They have homemade popsicles and frozen treats, and the gelato is good. BUT THE GRANITAS! The granitas are made from fresh lemons that are grown in Corniglia. It tastes absolutely heavenly and is perfect to cool you on a hot day. The guy who works there is cool too. If you go for this review, tell him hi for me!
google avatar

Karen J.

Yelp
Yummy!! Had the fresh honey and the coffee gelato. The honey was really fantastic reminding me of the first time I ever had honey Greek yogurt: surprisingly sweet and tart at once. The coffee was nice and smooth. Aaron had the dark chocolate and fig & cheese gelato. Both were very tasty. Stop in while in Corniglia to fuel you to Manarola.
google avatar

Young N.

Yelp
They have gelato, slushy, smoothie and handmade icecream bar. I just wish I had a bigger stomach. I tried the basil and coconut flavor and they are delicious!!
google avatar

Dionne J.

Yelp
Was recommended this place from our host and loved it!!! We had the homemade basil, chocolate Nero, pistachio and hazelnut - all in the a medium cup. Every flavor was amazing, but we especially loved the basil which was unique and made from their homegrown basil! Would definitely recommend especially as a hike pit stop!
google avatar

Yelp
Recommended to us by the Rick Steve's guide book, we sought out this specific Gelateria and it didn't disappoint! There are many to chose from in the town of Corneglia but I will save you the tough decision by giving this one a high recommendation. They have incredible homemade flavours, their special being that of lemon, as well as their lemon slush which my mom had, and loved. Best taken out to be enjoyed while walking around as their are only about 2 tables, a couple of chairs and a bench on the inside. You may have to fight your way in, or awkwardly stand in the doorway shouting your order but it is worth the experience for the rich flavour.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Some of the best gelato we had in Italy. Tiny little place but they were super friendly, and it's just s short walk over to the beautiful overlook. The perfect stop after climbing all those stairs.
google avatar

Namrata J.

Yelp
This is a very cute gelateria with interesting flavors. The lemon one is definitely outstanding. This place closes soon - so keep that in mind.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little spot for a treat. We dropped in each for a gelato. I had an amaretto style on a cone, was great. She had a honey and also a Nutella chocolate, the Nutella was a favorite.
google avatar

j w.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this gelateria. The people are incredibly nice and happy to serve their customers. I ordered nocciola (hazelnut) and anything with Nutella at every single gelateria I visited during my 2 week stay in Italy. I never wavered with my flavor choices so that I could compare each place. It did not disappoint! It was definitely our top two favorite gelato places in ALL of Italy. I ordered a small cup, finished it and no more than five minutes later, I ordered my second cup of the exact flavors. (Please don't judge!) It was that good! We stayed in Vernazza...love that town but this gelato place might convince me to stay in Corniglia the next time I visit Cinque Terre!
google avatar

Jenna J.

Yelp
This was the best gelato we had in Cinque Terre, and they have flavors local to Corniglia. They said they make it fresh everyday, and we believed it -- so good! To top it off, the staff was friendly and helpful, going out of their way to help us find our host's address.
google avatar

Cheryl H.

Yelp
The homemade honey gelato is fabulous....the best we ever had...thank Rick Steve's The server nice and the place bright and cheery, with only a couple of seats.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
I loved this place. The young man behind the counter made our super bad-luck-filled day 10,000x better with his cool, jokester attitude and cheery service. What was even better was that he took credit card when we ran out of cash and the bank machine was out. Now about the flavors, I had dark chocolate and yogurt which was phenomenal. My friend had the mango and the coconut and I tried the mango, which tasted straight up like a mango. I'd definitely recommend (and if you're following the CT with Rick Steves, he prefers this place too!)
google avatar

Marc T.

Yelp
Crowded small place with creamy gelato and granitas that are worth it! I heard about this small place from a friend- Corniglia is my fav of Cinque Terre - no cars/ cool small narrow streets- worth a stop
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
This was my favorite Gelateria out of everywhere we went in Italy. They had two flavors that you have to try. First off the miele di Corniglia. It's a honey gelato made from local honey and it's fantastic. Second try their limon. It's also made from local produce, and it was the best limon I had my entire trip (and strawberry and limon is my go-to, so I had a lot). You could taste how fresh it was. It was so good we even went twice the same day!

Vee V.

Yelp
its all true, the gelato is truly the best in the world! basil, pistachio, nocciola and pretty much any other flavour that you can pick will be really good. the prices are very reasonable, and it is easy to find since it is on the main street just at the beginning of town.

Randy B.

Yelp
This is the real deal. I'd venture to say the best gelato in Italy. Alberto makes beautiful, quiet Corniglia even more special. My top flavor recommendation is of course the miele/honey. It's made of delicious Cinque Terre chestnut honey (and the jars of the honey are available for purchase about 3 storefronts down - ask for a card.) Incredible flavor. I'm also an amarena/cherry fan. Amarena & miele? Perfect combo! If it's a particularly hot day, I'd also try their lemon granita. Small but potent. Very, very refreshing.

Dani F.

Yelp
Some of the best gelato we ate in Italy. His honey flavored gelato was divine and the lemon granita was refreshing and tasted so fresh.
