The wife and I were in Park City for a week to hang out, check out the area and hopefully see some fall colors. One morning we were planning to explore SLC for the day and we were not going to leave until about 9-9:30am. Some research on Yelp pointed me to Albertos for some good breakfast choices. I was up fairly early so I walked across the parking lot of where we were staying to get us some breakfast burritos to have before we headed to SLC.
Let's just start with the fact that I am a breakfast burrito fanatic and find it very hard to find great breakfast burritos. Even living in Southern California, where Mexican restaurants are plentiful, a solid breakfast burrito can be scarce. So, I took the comments about how good the breakfast burritos at Albertos were with a grain of salt.
"I'll be judge of that!"
The wife wanted a sausage and I wanted a chorizo. After ordering, it was not long before they called my number and I went to the counter to pick them up. They asked if I wanted mild or spicy salsa, I requested both and I was given two of each in small covered containers. When I picked up the bag with the burritos I commented out loud about how heavy the bag was and the server laughed. Dang, these were some sizable burritos.
Back in our condo, the wife was awake and drinking her coffee. We unwrapped our massive breakfast burritos and cut them in half to allow us to handle them. They were still very hot and I had to wait to start chomping away. According to menu, the burritos have 3 eggs, cubed potatoes and cheese, that along with the protein you pick. There was a whole lot of all of that in the burritos.
After cooling off a bit, I finally got to eating mine and it was a really great breakfast burrito. Eggs cooked nicely, delicious potatoes and cheese. In addition to these, they loaded the burrito with a very good, not greasy chorizo. This is one of the top breakfast burritos I have ever had. Get to Albertos and order one. You will not regret it.
The salsas were mild green and the spicy red was pretty mild, let's say medium. I found it hard to put the salsa on since the burritos, as is, were so tasty. That's amazing for me, since I usually cover most breakfast burritos with salsa or some tasty hot sauce like Chalula.
Thanks Albertos! You have great breakfast burritos!
Go. Eat Well. Have Fun.
