Beautiful space, beautiful service, a little heavy on umami flavors, but innovative dishes with flair and style. Most of all, wine pairings and the sommelier were some of the best ever. Great experience, I hope the check explores more sweet and sour flavors beyond umami and deep bitter. The dishes often felt one note and some, outrigbt muddy. Again, innovative, but lacking in excitement in the most important realm of taste. We tried both tasting menus but we're sorely disappointed as the courses progressed. Having visited other Michelin Star restaurants, my expectations were high and unfortunately, beyond the ambiance, they were not met. My father had his first visit to a place of this stature and I hoped it would be a treat to celebrate my graduation and job, and though we had great laughs and I had great drinks (he doesn't drink) we left hungry with bad tastes. I feel sorry to write such a review, truly. Everyone was generous and the service was impeccable.
I want to be clear, the stars are solely for service and ambiance. It would get 1 star based on the food tast alone.
