Had my wedding here in September 2024 and had the best experience. We stayed with our wedding party for 3 nights and the team were beyond helpful during the wedding day and made it special. Thanks to Barbara who helped coordinate everything fantastically and to the rest of the team. The venue itself is stunning and we stayed in a beautiful room at the top of the main house which was perfect. They also have multiple spaces to choose from to get married in and a gorgeous room for the bridal and grooms party to get ready. The food and drinks were great and the setup was amazing. Would truly recommend a Menorcan wedding here - one to remember!! Thanks again to all the team.

We had an amazing dinner at the restaurant on a big table underneath the trees. Food is great, tasty and pretty unique. Prices are decent for the surroundings and food quality. The staff was amazing helping prepare a special announcement to the family!

A beautiful old building on the island that has been well preserved while offering modern comforts (there’s even an elevator in the main building). - Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the environment was peaceful and quiet—exactly what we were looking for. - The team and staff were very friendly. - The only downside was the breakfast, which was quite slow and had limited options (though this might have been due to the fact that we stayed right at the beginning of the season). For the pan con tomate, they give you the tomatoes in one bowl, garlic in another, and you have to prepare it yourself… No cold cuts or fruit salad were offered, and the bread was rather average. Dinner was good, and we had their sandwich picnic option twice—it was delicious. Overall, we do recommend the place.

Lovely luxurious rural hotel with very nice staff. We stayed for 3 nights near the beginning of the season. The house and grounds are beautiful- an old Manor House that has been tastefully modernised with lovely outdoor seating and pool (unheated so cold in April!). Breakfast was very good but dinner in the restaurant was a little disappointing. The food and presentation was good but served on cold plates so not very hot which was a shame. It is a lovely place to stay.

A perfect place to stay for 4 days. The hotel is a remarkable old house, full of historical character but where everything works. Our room (a top floor suite to sleep three) was spacious, comfortable, quiet, and with a beautiful terrace. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The excellent restaurant served fantastic breakfasts and great dinners. Their huge garden has plenty of rural pathways to explore, including one that joins with the Cami de Cavalls, and takes you to the sea at Alcaufar. Set in the middle of farmland, yet it's close enough to get to the centre of Mao in 15 minutes, and to sandy beaches in less than 5 minutes. Great pool too. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

During my stay at the hotel, the managers saw no problem with hosting an undisclosed wedding with dozens of attendees simultaneous with the stays of couples or groups completely unrelated to the wedding itself. Imagine the scene: having breakfast while tables and catering are set up all around for a full-blown event, the surrounding gardens taken over for the afternoon and evening for the party, the restaurant tables with over 60 people attending a fairly personal and formal cerimony, followed by blasting music from a large tent area, until midnight: without any warnings or notice to any hotel guest at any point before the 'big day'. Confusingly watching all of this go on, my partner and I asked if there was a wedding going on during our stay - to which the staff replied "yes, but no problem: you can use the pool until 3pm, and the restaurant is only taken over for the afternoon and evening...". As if this level of limitations is to be expected from a hotel that claims to be high-end quality, with according prices per day. It felt disappointing to be deceived into booking as if we would have full access to the hotel's facilities, and instead be dismissively and confrontationally told "if you don't like it maybe you can find somewhere else to stay, or hang around inside the room until this is over". Surely, it would be similarly awkward to have booked a venue for one's own wedding, and be met with random groups of hotel guests using the pool or trying to dine in the same areas, unnannounced, since they too had booked their stay unaware of the clash of events. Especially in the peak of summer, when any re-booking or 'escape' would be really disruptive, if not impossible. As mentioned in other reviews, the setting is overall lovely. Yet, there is a level of greedy mismanagement and deceitful service that I have never encountered before. From a hotel claiming to provide a peaceful experience of "the art of living" while enjoying the moment, we were instead served with uncaring disreguard and dismissive attitudes from Alcaufar Vell. I would advise future visitors to be careful about booking a similarly unpleasant stay.

Alcaufar Vell is a wonderfully situated boutique and luxury hotel set in the wonderful Menorcan landscape. It's a short distance (c. 10-15mins drive) from Mahon airport, with plenty of surrounding towns for travellers to explore for evening meals. ||The main house is absolutely beautiful, and the double rooms offer plenty of space for two people. There is a nice swimming pool, just a step away from the main house, with free roaming tortoises as a surprising, but pleasant addition. ||The hotel is sufficiently distanced from civilisation to enjoy an incredibly relaxing and peaceful stay, however I would recommend hiring a car, as this is by far the easiest method of transport on the island. ||The food in the restaurant in the evening is very good and very reasonably priced. I would recommend trying the food in the evening at least once and then exploring the surrounding towns for restaurants as there are some good restaurants all across the island. Breakfast was also good, with a number of options to choose from, and a hot food option. The first morning service was quite slow, taking over an 1 hour to get all our food. ||During our stay the hotel was booked for a wedding for one of the days. Given the size of the hotel (I would guess c. 20-30 rooms), a 80-100 person wedding felt quite disruptive. The staff didn't make it clear to us that there would be a wedding happening during our stay until I asked them the 30mins before the wedding guests were due to arrive. The staff did try to be accommodating once I drew this to their attention. ||Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and for the majority of the time felt incredibly relaxed. My only fault would be that we felt at times the service was slightly inconsistent and also given the size of the hotel, also having a wedding occurring during a guest's stay does feel disruptive.
