BOOK WEEKS/MONTHS IN ADVANCE!! was very hard to get a ticket but we managed it. Great views from the top of the tower, and ruins showing what life was like centuries ago.

Next to the Nasrid palace, you could explore this formidable well preserved fortress which was used to the residence for the guards. Climb up to the watch tower to take in some amazing view of the city and the mountains.

This place is absolutely amazing, nothing in the world 🌎 is similar. Must visit while you are alive.

This place is truly amazing. I can see why its on the National Geographic top 100 places. It is totally unique. This has to be the best example of a Moorish hilltop fortress there is and they started building at the Alcazaba in 1238! The Alcazaba itself is an incredible fortress. If you go here, make sure you do the tower at the back. I notices a few tour guides bypassing this. The views from the top over Granada are amazing and should not be missed. There is also so much here from the gardens and the Alcazaba tower to the Nazaries palace and all the nooks and crannies’ between. There are also some remarkable treasures on exhibit. You can easily spend a few hours walking around in here. We made a special trip from Malaga to visit and it was well worth it. This is one place you have to visit . I would recommend getting here early. We got here for 08:30 when it opened, which seems to be the perfect time.

Included in the Nasrid Palace Ticket, there is also the Alcazar entrance. It's a huge building from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city, quite unique I may say. Be prepared to walk a lot and go up in the tower ( comfortable shoes required here !)

The perfectly preserved structure and the entire complex create a monumental building that can be admired from a distance and directly by walking around it. The Sierra Nevada Mountains and the city of Granada create a truly fantastic panorama!

Truly a marvel of the old days, where arab invention was still a for the European development. Enjoy a 3 hour walk around the garden, castle and don’t worry if you couldn’t get the tickets for the Palacios Nazaries. You possibly won’t have the energy to see all of it including the museums. Take it with a smile and have a great day!

The Alcazaba had square towers and 3 sets of concentric walls and it wasn't until we looked back across the valley to Generalife that you realised how steep the slope was. There were views to the Sierra Nevada mountains and obviously across the city of Grenada. A very impressive location and it gave us another chance to see just how green this whole area is, very different to the arid scrubland we had driven through to get here. There are various towers you can climb to get views and this is a popular spot so can get busy. The towers, though impressive, were very dated by the time of the final siege and the modern Spanish cannons would have done immense damage if the city hadn't surrendered so it was lucky they did as they architectural heritage has been preserved, even if the libraries were burned by the Inquisition.
