While wandering the Kazimierz (Jewish Quarter) in Krakow we stumbled upon this fabulous little bar and, drawn by a great "outside vibe", we wandered in. We were immediately smitten by the great music, dim yet warm lighting, and it's "New Orleans-esque" vibe.
There is lots of seating at comfortable wood tables and chairs inside (the place is much bigger than it looks when you first walk in), and there is seating along the long side of the bar outdoors as well (*note: lots and lots of smokers in Poland so the outside area was pretty much occupied by cigarette smoke - not our thing). A broad mix of folks visit this place - students, business types, tourists (fewer of those) and obvious regulars.
Interesting note: there is no table service for drinks. You join others at the small bar to order drinks, and take them to your table. If you order food they will bring it out to you. There are not many staff, but the ones who are there are friendly and briskly efficient.
Finally, and from a North American's perspective, the drinks are wildly cheap. Each night we were there we sat and drank several shots of Zubrowka vodka (accompanied by apple juice chasers - a classic drink in Poland) -- worked out to about CDN $2.00/shot! We didn't sample much of the food menu, but the one thing we did have - nachos - impressed with the fact that the nacho chips were clearly freshly made in-house. Many of the food dishes that passed by on the way to other tables looked really good, so we'll definitely try more food the next time we're back in Krakow.
