The Best Holiday Bars and Restaurants in San Francisco | Eater SF

"For a holiday pop-up bar with a little less over-the-top tinsel and more of a warm, low-key holiday glow, head to Alchemist Bar & Lounge, which launched its Christmas Wonderland pop-up on Friday, November 15. Slip inside for a plate of steak frites and a wintery-themed drink." - Justine Jones

The drinks are very interesting and the atmosphere is quite unique. I had a great time. Of the two drinks I tried, I loved one (It Takes Two to Tango) and didn't care for the other (Neuromancer). However, I took a risk and tried something out of my comfort zone, so I can't fault the bar for it! It was definitely a great place to hang out with friends and experience something different from a typical bar.

Didn’t try the food on my visit so I cannot vouch for that. Great service & tasty cocktails. The atmosphere is quirky & reminded me of Tim Burton’s movies.

We are doing some research on cool bars / lounges that offer good food hence we decided to give Alchemist a try. The bar tucked away on the 2nd floor has a cool vibe and nice seasonal decorations like. CNY interwoven with their regular displays. The drink list is extensive and the mixologists certainly know their craft. I tried the alcohol free rum drink. It was a tropical experience. With good drinks one needs some food to go along with. We tried their pork belly bao. Kale salad, pepper wings and steak and fries. From best to not so good. The Kale salad was one of the best I ever had , the bao and pepper wings were nice . Unfortunately the steak was overcooked and not the medium rare expensive I was happy for but their fries were solid. Certainly a cool spot to hang with friends and catch up over drinks and food.

good ambiance and date spot, however, slightly awkward crowd. music is alright and there’s weird (but slightly entertaining projections of things). interesting cocktails (actually quite overwhelming — I couldn’t pick), and “good bar bites.” decent service. over all a 6.4/10 and i may go again.

Ok, so I’m the worst only only captured the bathroom, but I mean look at that nice detail! Anyways, this place had been a favorite of mine for years. Great atmosphere and energy with locals and visitors. Drink rotations super fun and the service is great! We went with a fairly large group and you ordered at the bar and the bartender was amazing and brought all the drinks to the table! Friends ordered food, shared it was tasty and came out of the kitchen fairly quick.

Google
Absolutely loved my night at Alchemist Bar & Lounge! The vibe is just incredible, with a cool steampunk theme that's all about gears and industrial chic. I tried their signature drinks, and they were both fantastic. The ube cocktail with mint was a standout - refreshing and eye-catching. The other drink had a rich, deep flavor with a perfect twist of citrus. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and interesting decor that makes you feel like you're in another era. The service was super friendly and attentive, adding to the great experience. If you're looking for a unique spot with great cocktails, this is it! Highly recommend checking it out!

I’ve never heard someone blaming me for something that their colleague said. Definitely don’t go if you value your time there. Earlier in the evening I checked with the female bartender about closing time and she assured me the bar would stay open until 12:30 AM. Close to midnight I went back for a nightcap; this time the man running the bar poured the beer himself. While handing it over he added, “You’ve got about twenty, twenty-five minutes,” which lined up perfectly with the 12:30 closing I’d already been told, so I settled in and paced myself. At 12:20—ten minutes before either of the times I’d been given—the same man stormed over, snapped “Time’s up, out,” and started herding me toward the door. I reminded him, as politely as I could, that his coworker had said 12:30 and he himself had just sold me the beer with a twenty-minute window. His answer: “I don’t care what she told you. That’s your problem,” delivered with a glare and a dismissive wave. I understand last call and I respect closing hours, but blaming customers for believing the staff and then cutting them off early is a great way to make sure they never return. This bar couldn’t keep its own story straight for thirty minutes—and decided the easiest fix was to shove the confusion onto the people paying the tab. With so many friendlier options nearby, I won’t be back, and I’d suggest you skip it too.

Google
Stumbled on this place while looking to grab a drink before dinner and WHAT A FIND!! The decor is amazingly cool, the server was wonderful, and the Neuromancer was the best cocktail I've had in quite some time. All around outstanding experience - highly recommend!

Yelp
The Christmas experience was immaculate. We came on a Friday night around 930 with reservations. The waiters were attentive and happily ready to provide recommendations. What blew me were the actual drinks. I was surprised with the ube drink and the popcorn drink as they were well balanced. I don't like to hype things up very often but my lordt this place was bangin

Yelp
The security at this bar was beyond rude--like rude. We arrived around midnight (as I'm writing this review), and the bar wasn't even full. My group included a tech developer, a nurse, and a professor--hardly the kind of crowd causing trouble. When we got to the entrance, my boyfriend was handing over his ID, but the security guard wasn't paying attention. My boyfriend stepped toward the door to look inside while the rest of us stood waiting. Suddenly, the guard looked at him and yelled, accusing him of trying to sneak in. Seriously? My boyfriend sarcastically responded, "Yeah, I'm trying to sneak in--I'm 45." Instead of realizing how ridiculous that was, the security actually had the nerve to reply, "How am I supposed to know that?" After handing over his card, my boyfriend was then threatened by the security guard, who said, "Be careful." Excuse me? It's 2025--we're on the brink of war, the economy is a mess, and people are choosing to spend their money going out instead of just ordering DoorDash and drinking at home. And this is how paying customers are treated? Are you crazy? Here's the reality: people don't have to go out anymore. If this is how your security behaves when the bar isn't even full, I can only imagine what happens when it is. I get it--maybe this guy has no power anywhere else in life and saw this as his moment. But he picked the wrong audience to flex on. I've been to bars where the security is really, really nice - The Felix in tenderloin is super nice and knows how to do his job and deliver customer service and all their bartenders are nice and when we went there it was full. Ask them to help train your security or hire theirs.

Yelp
Spacious with a lounge vibe with projections on their brick wall. The waitress was easy to order from, or you can choose to scan the QR code for drinks. Can't speak to food but I did try a beer. Came on a Friday night and didn't expect it to turn into a club. Couldn't have a conversation with friends since it was way loud and will likely not be back. My friends enjoyed their time on weekdays though.

Yelp
Ambiance: it's located in Mission Bay Area, stylish decorated lounge room, good for large group hangout Service: very impatient and lack of professional knowledge, couldn't even make the cocktail drink taste right Food & Drink: lackluster choices on their menu Woodbury Burger - ** Double Beef Patties, American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles and Aioli, served on a Brioche Bun with Fries, not a place for burger Napoletana - *** Moleto Tomato Gin, Yellow Chartreuse, Benedictine, Honey, Passion Fruit, Thyme, Cirtus, fruity taste Vivid Dreams - * Pisco, Creme de Menthe, Ube Condensed Milk, Honey Ginger Syrup, Lime, weird combination and tasted awful Fieldwork Sour - ** canned beer, very sour taste Price: generally overpriced drinks let alone the poor quality, not worth $50+ per person

Yelp
Timely service, cool vibes, good music, and great drinks!! The Trip to La Perla was good (definitely taste the cardamom and get the spice from the cayenne) my friends got the Rye Misterio made with a cookie infused mezcal which they loved

Yelp
This is a cute place, when you walk in, go through a hallway and walk upstairs. My friends had some of the cocktails which were really good. I had the Old Rasputin Stout which was strong. There are a lot of loungy tables and chairs, perfect for a group setting, try to reserve if you can. Great large bar area too. We tried the calamari which were too dry in my opinion, super crunchy and not chewy at all. Would skip. Come here for the vibes if you're with a group of people.

Yelp
Was early to a nearby yelp event so I decided to grab a drink at of one the bars and found this little gem. I was loving the spooky decor and the vibes of this bar. That had tons of option for their cocktail & happy hour menu. They also had a variety of food that they sell here as well which I have yet to try. I ordered the Starstruck as it was part of the happy hour menu. The bartender was super nice and chatted with me a bit and made sure I enjoyed my drink. I really liked the overall atmosphere of this place and would stop by again!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday early evening to grab a quick drink. Located upstairs the cute lounge/bar was pretty huge with a nice vibe. I do wish they played better music with live DJ. You can self order via QR code or server can come and take your order. We ordered some appetizers but our drinks we're all so good. My favorite was my espresso martini and my husband also love whatver the bartender made him. Def a cool spot to grab a drink!!

Yelp
A great place to kick it by the bar or lounge with a group of friends! Cocktails are unique and satisfying. Make reservations for a table just in case if you go on a Friday/Sat. Service is faster than the average and servers check-in with you. Overall good vibes and dark sinister decor. Projects animations are also fun to watch while drunk (lol). Will come again to try more drinks and food! Vivid Dream Cocktail - 3.5/5 - Well crafted and nice picture. Ube flavoring was mild while it had a more minty profile. Future Dystopia Cocktail - 5/5 - Thai tea flavor was there, reminded me of boba. I'd get this one again for sure. Fries with cheese & bacon - 5/5 - good quality fries, cheese, and bacon pieces. Smack!

Yelp
What a weird place! And in an interesting way, not a bad way. We came after a game so the place was swamped! The vibe here is COOL! The kind of steampunk and vintage. I was interested in the shadow plays being projected on the walls. Tables were hard to find, but we snagged one in the corner near the water station which seemed like a good place to be because it was out of the way of the bar crowd. My brother in law waited probably 30 minutes at the bar to get 4 drinks- not even mixed drinks! One margarita, 2 beers, and a soda water! He said that the bar tender kept taking all the women and he was totally ignored. That was before we snagged the table and had a waitress. This waitresses were jamming tho! I don't know how they got through the crowd with trays of drinks! The music was LOUD!!! A little too much in my opinion. The music was decent. Sometimes it would get good and then it would taper off into no mans land and it was more nod your head vibes than dancing.

Yelp
I audibly gagged when I tried my drink and I was so excited for it too. Ube was just right up my alley but the peppermint completely overpowered it, I felt like I was drinking a candy cane. Ube is supposed to be sweet. Overall this drink was gross for $20, which is insanely overpriced in the first place by the way. Also hostess wouldn't let us sit on the couches even though they were all completely empty and I asked nicely. Steampunk vibe was cool though.

Yelp
Only one bartender who working hard and several folks waiting to order drinks. Can't fault him for the wait as he was working alone. My pre-batched Old Fashioned was good, but my friend's cocktail was missing something. No joke, we think it was the booze, but we didn't want to bother him about it.
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
This bar was so much fun! Definitely has more speak easy vibes, and the theme was very cool. Reminded me of Alice in the Wonderland. We got the Starstruck and The Future Dystopia. Who would've thought Thai tea mixed with tequila would be so good? The service was fantastic, and our waitress was very friendly. Happy hour is also 10/10.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place and we showed up on a Friday night. As we walked up the bouncer was fast asleep in his chair and we didn't bother to wake him up so we walked right on in and upstairs to the bar. We got seated pretty quick and ordered some drinks and nibbles to share. 4/5 Chicken wings with lemon pepper seasoning - nice and crispy served with ranch 3.5/4 Tater tots - was a bit salty on top but as we got through it the tots on the bottom were definitely less salty The vibe was a bit weird but the drinks and the apps were good. Definitely a lot cheaper than the bar we were at before we ended here.

Yelp
The place is dimly lit with a huge area for seating. Their buffalo nuggets taste amazing. I think I would come visit just for the buffalo nuggets alone. They have a good selection of drinks as well. I will say it's kind of hard to flag down your server at times because it's so dark inside. Other than that, great food and drinks all around. Did I mention that the buffalo nuggets were amazing?

Yelp
Very well decorated upscale bar to catch up with friends and get well crafted drinks. The music isn't too loud so it's easy to hold conversation and the wait staff is very friendly and will check in frequently. Definitely worth a visit. It is worth noting this bar is on the second floor on top of another bar. You need to climb a flight of stairs to get to it

Yelp
Cool, hip place to go and have some amazing cocktails and meet all sorts of interesting locals. Love the decor. Some people consider it somewhat of a dive bar but I don't think so at all. It is a rather hip and cool decor that makes you feel at ease. The bar is good-sized and staffed with really cool people who love to talk and make you feel like you belong. The drinks are well made. I tried a few cocktail standards that I drink and they were well made. Just well-balanced and smooth. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I've walked past this bar a lot and I was glad that I finally got to try it with a group of friends. The vibe is very different than other bars but I thought it was still cool and a good place to hang out with friends. They have very interesting drinks! I was drawn to the vivid dreams cocktail because it had ube liquor in it. However, I felt that it didn't have a strong ube taste and was more on the minty side. I would try a different cocktail if I come back. One of my friends ordered the karma tsunami which was very unique since it had celery, apple, shiso, black pepper, and egg whites. It was honestly not bad! Overall, a good place to chill with friends and fun/unique drinks.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday for a birthday dinner! The actual lounge bar is in the second floor, I love the art on the stairs and walls! Very steampunk decor, loved it! The place wasn't too busy and bartender was super attentive! Didn't get to order food here but the drinks were very well made!

Yelp
My friends and I wanted to go to a nearby bar after a Giants game and this bar is only a 3 minute walk from Oracle Park. After the game, as expected, it was filled with people. However, if you're wanting to get a drink right away, expect to wait 20-30+ minutes even with 3 bartenders. The drinks were AMAZING and worth the wait. I ordered Vivid Dreams - pisco, creme de menthe, ube condensed milk, honey ginger syrup, and lime. It was a refreshing drink. The music was louder than I expected since a bar/lounge area is a place where you can typically talk. My friends and I were not able to hear each other and we were seated at the same table. The music was awesome though, I love the mix of R&B, hip hop and oldies. I look forward to coming here again when it's not so busy.

Yelp
Check this place out for HH. It's a must!! The drinks here are delicious. The vibe, the music is all top tier. If you are in the area defiantly give them a try.

Yelp
I think this place is good for drinks because they have a unique cocktail menu that does make it different from other bars. For eats, maybe the fries or truffle fries if you really care for truffle. It also provides interesting seating in front of silhouette animated shorts, which you don't really see ever let alone in a bar. It gets crowded when the work rush comes, but easily calms down after an hour or two of loud clamoring. NOW, with that said... This place is the home of the worst wings I've ever had to eat. Do not get them. Please do not. I'm begging you to not get them. First thing is I hate wasting food. I will take it to-go if it's good and I know I can't finish it so I can savor it at home. If it's not that amazing, I'll glutton myself and finish it at the place as a courtesy (and so I don't have to keep a box of food I'll avoid touching in the fridge). Now... in all my years I've never faced a scenario where I had to actually tap out from finishing wings cause it felt like a punishment. These wings were apparently seasoned by being in the kitchen. These wings tasted like they were marinated in water. Eating these wings one after another as a way to counteract the tragedies of food waste in our society felt like I was being punished by some Greek god by being forced to eat plain chicken with an ever hungry, but choosy stomach. The biggest kicker is that for mango habanero they were not spicy at the slightest. My partner that's notorious for not being able to handle spice was able to eat one and then also comment, agree, and be in disgust about the quality of the wings. If they were spicy, I would have felt like I had some mercy on my soul because then I would at least be distracted from their lack of pizazz with some kind of mouth burning sensation, but no. I'm sorry this review has to go the colorful direction it went in, but these wings are going down in infamy as the bottom of the bar and I'll be glad (fingers crossed) I will never have any lower on the bar than them. Get the Vivid Dreams and fries and you'll be good here.

Austin D.

Yelp
Really cool space with an okay location. Number one pain point was the bartenders - they moved in slow motion all night and my group was served maybe twice the entire night we were there (over four hours). If we were able to get drinks at a reasonable pace, this would be a 5 star review. Hire new bartenders.
google avatar

Caroline R.

Yelp
We tried going here at 1am on a Saturday night and the bouncer opened the door, just said : No. and closed the door. Hours say open until 2. Very rude and we were ready to spend money !

Yelp
We had our company holiday party here and it was amazing!! The food was delicious and was replenished frequently, the fried mushrooms and pork bun bao were especially great. It was decorated with holiday decor and it was a great layout for mingling and sitting. The drinks and bartenders were also amazing.
google avatar

Derrick C.

Yelp
Came here with a friend for happy hour. It's located upstairs. The space feels cozy but is also spacious. We got the chicken nuggets to share which was white meat (a bit drier) but had a tasty sriracha butter sauce which made up for the dryness. I got a mojito mocktail which was good.
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
This is one of my go to bars in the city. They can be busy depending on the time and day you show up. Their food and drinks are amazing and of reasonable pricing. I particularly would recommend the chicken nuggets from their menu. You definitely get a lot for the price! You can never go wrong with their drinks. Every drink that I've gotten here so far hasn't let me down. When you arrive, you are greeted and ID by security guard, followed by stairs leading to the second floor where the bar is. It's pretty dark inside and the music can be pretty loud. It's definitely a great spot for a group of friends or maybe a bar date night!
google avatar

Yelp
good service at the bar but the water tastes so bad. I'm still thinking about how weird my Tito's soda tasted two days later.
google avatar

Lyndsey M.

Yelp
I love coming to the Alchemist for drinks and small bites in the early evening or coming for drinks later in the night. Early evening, you should be able to grab a table, but as the bar starts to pick up, it becomes almost standing room only without a reservation, but still a lot of fun since they have a DJ and the drinks are great. I have tried most of the drinks on the menu and they are all great, they are also great at making classic cocktails as well.
google avatar

Hina M.

Yelp
I definitely really like the vibe of this place and I have been here twice but both the times I wasn't happy with my drinks. The service and ambience is on point. Our server was very sweet and she made sure we were having a good time. The bar itself is beautifully decorated and has a great space. They serve cocktails as well as food. The food served here is quite decent for the food a bar is serving. Coming to the drinks the presentation is really good but the drinks did not leave an impression for me. It looked like the Bartender made the drinks in a hurry and there were no flavours at all in the cocktails I tried. I would not come here unless they improve the quality of their cocktails. But it's a good place to come to for a nice ambience and food though.
google avatar

Yelp
I do not write reviews often that consist of one star and normally I ignore businesses that elicit such a rating but I felt I needed to write about this establishment and how awful the vibe and most of the staff is: First of all the bartender Kenny with the kooky hats is rude as hell and is visibly rude to the servers and other staff there and as a person that works in the industry, I see that as a toxic work environment and I would never support such a place that turns a blind eye to this type of nasty behavior. Also the bar manager Ramon is not only just as rude but makes the worst rushed drinks I have ever tasted in my life. It doesn't matter if this place has interesting and unique cocktails if no one ever comes (this place has been empty the two times I've come here) people aren't blind to the environment you're freely showcasing here. Get new bartenders and management staff. P.S there's a barback working here currently pouring drinks under the legal age...just a heads up on how they run their business!
google avatar

Yelp
We came after a giants game on a Friday and were seated right away. This spot is great because it's walking distance from Oracle Park. It's very dimly lit, perfect for a night out with friends or a date. As recommended by the server we got their Supernova and Starstruck cocktails and enjoyed both. The only thing I would take out are the red strings in Starstruck, distracting from the drink and not adding any flavor to it either. Starstruck was perfect, fruity and light and refreshing. Will be back to try more of their drinks and food!

Yelp
Don't come here. I've been here twice now and had bad experience both times! I first came here after work about two weeks ago on a great recommendation from a friend, who also works in the area. Looking at the website and reviews, I was so excited for my first visit. Overall this place is just sad and I was very disappointed. It is super dark, loud, smelled weird, also on the pricey side and in my opinion not exactly worth the money. The only good thing about this place that i'd say is worth coming for was the food, the projections they have displayed on the wall and my server. Her name was Asia and she was amazing! When we got to chatting she informed me she had only been with the establishment for about a week, but she was able to thoroughly answer all the questions I had about the menu. She was funny, charming & very entertaining. She was most importantly super attentive. Even though I saw she was serving the entire restaurant, I felt like the only person in the room which I can only assume isn't easy considering the amount of people I saw she was helping. I looked at the menu prior to my visit but I wasn't sure what to order so I told her I mostly drink tequila, liked fruity & but not too sweet. She made the recommendation of trying the Rites of Passage, which was absolutely perfect and exactly what I was looking for! I ended up having 3! So, A+. for that, if you end up coming, ask for her. You won't regret it! Food was good, came out super fast which was nice, because at least we had something to snack on while we waited for our drinks. I had the brussel sprouts and tots with some add ons. My friend had the deviled eggs and chicken nuggets which Asia also recommended. All was pretty good but the portions could be bigger for what they're charging. The drink menu was pretty interesting. Lots of different flavors to pick from which is nice. Drinks however took forever! Expect to wait 20+ minutes even with an empty bar. I watched my server stand and wait for drinks while the bartender ignored the bar for his phone. I noticed this same bartender, Kenny, who I was able to speak to briefly, only attending to who I assume was his girlfriend who had this massive dog sitting at the bar too (pretty gross if you ask me) he was also visibly very rude to the server. This went on for hours. I came back a few days ago wanting to give this place a second chance. This time I sat at the bar with Gerson & Roman and I had the same bad experience. Gerson was nice, but bartenders standing on their phones is so lame. The bar manager, Roman, was seriously so rude. Doesn't seem like he cared for his job the customers of the bar or his employees. I watched him, looking very angry, yell at the server for no reason & she walked away crying. I was so uncomfortable I ended up grabbing a table with the server from my last visit. The service from there was better but not great. I say this bc the drinks still took forever. The only reason I'm rating this one star was for Asia and the food. Get better bartenders. Seriously, no wonder this place was so empty! I would not recommend this place to anyone. You can get better drinks and service around the corner at District San Francisco, and you won't have to watch management abuse the staff either.

Yelp
I love Alchemist! It's a lively bar with great food and cocktails. I've been here a couple times and am always fascinated by the decor and scenes they have projecting on the walls. When I came here last Saturday night it was pretty busy, but it was easy to make a reservation for a table through Yelp ahead of time to guarantee a spot. Since it was busy it was a little hard to get a waiter to help us order food, but the bartender was able to help us out. I've tried a couple food items here and never been disappointed. Most recently I ordered the pork bao buns which were small but filling and good for sharing. Definitely a spot I recommend if you're in the area!

Yelp
I love the vibe of this place! I came here right as it opened and it has a really cool steampunk aesthetic inside with gears and other decor. My friend described it almost looking like something out of the movie, Coraline! In terms of the drinks, they do an excellent job with pretty much every cocktail. I love how they even incorporate Asian flavors in some of their drinks like Thai tea and lychee! The service here is phenomenal! The servers were really sweet and knowledgable about the menu. They were able to give some solid recommendations and we overall had an amazing night. Food? I would HIGHLY recommend the chicken nuggets which are coated with a mildly spicy sauce--and are a perfect sharable with your friends! For full transparency on price, it was a semi-hefty tab for 3 people but that goes for all bar nights in SF. My tab breakdown is in the photo. I was taken aback when it comes to the tipping with their little iPad screen thing, the automatic tipping options START at 20% and gets higher after that. I personally usually tip 18% but I guess since I had a really good time--the 20% was well deserved. I will be back with my friends!

Yelp
Drinks are good. Ambiance is good but not packed more like it was before covid. But I want to support these places in the soma area as this is such a cool area and we want to see more activity here. Try to make it more lively here and people will come back.

Yelp
Tucked away on the second story off 3rd street, this quirky bar serves up solid cocktails in a minimalist steampunk interior. Alchemist is dimly lit, with plenty of seating and relatively speedy service. It's fairly quiet - almost too quiet - but for the weary introvert looking to drink, chat, and avoid awkward social interactions, this place may very well be a modern oasis. The drinks are good, though not too outlandish. I am personally a bigger fan of more experimental and fusion cocktails, and they do have a few, but I can still sink into the comfort of Alchemist's classics. The flavors are there, but not particularly punchy. For some, this might be a relief. For others, they may find the drinks a bit lackluster. What to get: It is difficult to make a recommendation because the menu here changes from time to time. That said, I recommend going with your gut. If you see an ingredient you're nervous about, it's highly likely that drink is not for you. That said, try something new. It may surprise you. When to go: I love going here for happy hour on a quiet Friday evening. It's great with a few friends that you want to catch up with, or even a second date. I have rarely seen this place packed, which makes it great if you (like me) occasionally find yourself panicking at crowded bars because two people have bumped into you so far without saying sorry and you're worried there will be a third.

Yelp
Reservations are recommended, great ambiance and bar is well maintained. The food is okay this place in my opinion is great for drinks, I prefer to dine elsewhere. I ordered tator tots, fries, steak tacos and shrimp tacos. Easy place to go to after a warriors game.

Yelp
I've been here on two occasions and can attest that this is a great bar for a chill, relaxed night out with friends! Entering into the bar, you get your ID checked, and then make your way upstairs to the actual bar area. Upon arrival, you will be required to present your ID before making your way upstairs to the main bar area. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat and on busy Friday nights, the bar tends to be crowded, but we were able to secure seating rather quickly. Although the time it took to place our order was a bit longer than expected, the wait was worth it once we received our fries which were served with an aioli condiment. The aioli is so good, I'd come back here just for the fries and aioli haha. My friend and I also had two rounds of craft cocktails and my personal favorite were Starstruck and Monstera, but note that I love drinks that are sweeter in general--so these were super yummy and easy to drink!

Yelp
Loved the bar food here!! Came with a group of friends and the food service ambiance was incredible The drinks were amazing as well. One of my favorite bars to visit to try new drinks and have a nice night out with friends. I would reccomend making a reservation as it can get quite busy some nights. Try this place out if you haven't!!

Yelp
My friends and I were were in the area after dinner and popped in right after. I kid you not, I'm not the biggest fan of tequila so when my friend suggested that we do tequila shots, I winced. BUT, the tequila from Alchemist was some of THE smoothest and best tasting tequila I've ever had in my life. It was absolutely delicious. It wasn't smokey or anything, but it went down super smooth. I'm not the biggest drinker nor someone that likes to sip on their alcohol, but I would take my time and enjoy this one. The waitresses and servers were extremely nice and helpful in giving us suggestions on what we should try. The ambiance of the place was really cool and the interior decorations gave it an eerie, gloomy vibe, which was exactly what it was meant to do. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and my friends are all already planning on when we should come back!

Yelp
Great food and drinks. Loved the multiple seating options inside. Service is kind of slo because it's a big place so order a lot at once.

Yelp
In a full disclosure, we didn't get the entire Alchemist bar & lounge experience. We had 11PM reservations to hang and have some extra drinks after dinner. Their ordering process was easy- we sat down at our reserved area, and were greeted by a waiter shortly after. Scan the bar code, and she circled back around a few minutes later and took our order. We didn't order any food or appetizers, just a round of drinks. Our group ordered a few dry martinis, and mixed drinks from the Alchemists cocktail menu. We felt cozy and safe hanging out here and the decor and ambiance was fun. Overall, The Alchemist is definitely worth checking out! Looking forward to trying this place again, and trying out the food menu!

Yelp
I love this bar! Such a good vibe! The decor is cool, too. I went there Friday, May 19, 2023 after 9PM with 3 of my friends. I am not a big drinker, but I did try Kenny & the Jets. I am not sure the liquor used in it - I had to google the ingredients and meaning, to be honest, and I still don't know what they are! What I DO know for sure is that this cocktail is delicious! It is $15 and sweet, refreshing and will get you a little buzzed if you don't usually drink. Here are the ingredients: Avua Cachaca, Ming River Baiju, Kiwi, Cardamon, bay leaf, lime. The service was great! I didn't know what cocktail to order and our server asked me a few questions and brought me Kenny! It was exactly what I wanted. The lemon pepper chicken wings I said I was too full to try were good. So good, I had 2! They come with a dipping sauce that may be ranch dressing. The brussels sprouts are also good. I will definitely be returning here! Especially on a non-game night.

Yelp
A super cute lounge, almost felt like a mixed of speakeasy and low key upbeat bar. We made prior reservations for drinks before our dinner down the street and got seated in 2 leather cushion seats next to the main floor bar. We ordered the first two drinks that stood out the most: El Shaman & Friendly Warning. El Shaman was the safer route, but I'm really glad we went for Friendly Warning because it so so delicious. Friendly Warning is the perfect balance of sweet, tart, sour, refreshing and just so freaking smooth. Idk if it's the pistachio liqueur or the mole oil, but it has the buttery texture but all the refreshing notes in a glass. We liked it so much that we ended up ordering another of the Friendly Warning to drink before rushing to dinner. They also found out that it was one of our birthdays and gave us free shots. We couldn't stop raving about this place and all our friends had been spamming us on IG asking questions about the bar. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Came around 630pm on a Saturday. There was 4 of us and we were seated immediately. It started to get really busy around 730pm.... Like really busy and crowded. The server came to us quickly and was a huge help with describing how the drinks taste! The server was very efficient and quick with our orders. If you want bar food, this is the place for you! It does the job. The drinks were made really well and yummy, but imo seemed light. I needed like 4 drinks to feel something and I'm not even a big drinker. It's a great spot to hang with friends or coworkers to chill over drinks and light bites. I liked the interior and the vibe was artsy, dark and loungey!

Yelp
Oh gosh I want to love this place but ultimately cannot bring myself to give it 5 stars. Servers are friendly and pretty attentive/timely. Decor is cool and interesting but a little dark to see the people you're with and food you're eating. Drinks are good but expensive. Food is delicious but definitely a little dive bar fare-y. And what really takes away the one star is the tiny plastic forks they give you to eat with. We ordered brussel sprouts, loaded tots, and one order of chicken wings in the classic buffalo sauce. These plastic forks were just so flimsy and had small prongs to stab food with, it made eating the brussel sprouts more difficult than it has to be. The forks and food just also didn't quite fit with what I thought was the vibe of this place. It was good but ultimately dive bar food served with cheap plastic. I feel like i could go to a dive bar for this food and pay half of what I did for the cocktail. So, just a mismatch between certain elements that kept my experience from being as cohesive as it could be. Brussels were good, pretty standard roasted with a lot of loose leaves to crunch through. It could use a more distinct flavor profile, but I still ate them all. Chicken wings were pretty soft and juicy. If we're eating chicken wings here (and they have lots of flavors), I find it important for a restaurant to provide heavy duty napkins and/or wet wipes. Loaded tots were obviously good tasting but not good for you. I could feel my arteries clogging with every bite of the cheese sauce and yet could not stop eating them. After a while though, you feel overloaded with salt. I do remember the drinks being good, but don't remember which ones I ordered. I also remember getting a second so even if they were expensive, obviously the flavors or specific mixes intrigued me enough to get over the price. Our server was great. It was very busy and had tons of people and we only felt like we were waiting for her once right at the end to get the check. Maybe i come back for happy hour so i can explore the room and decor a bit more with fewer people around.
