Alchimia B&B

The room was very cold, at most 18 degrees Celsius. When I wrote to the administrator about it, he told me to wait a couple hours. After a couple hours nothing had changed. Then I wrote to him again asking him to increase the temperature because I am pregnant and I can't be in the cold. After that he gave me an article that according to the laws of Italy 19 degrees is a normal temperature. After that the administrator switched on the air conditioner (which he said did not work earlier) and heated the temperature up to 22. I woke up three times during the night from the cold, it was again around ~17 degrees. By the way, good attitude towards guests. Not recommended.

We stayed five nights at Alchimia. We had a quiet room on the first floor off the rear courtyard (and right near the espresso station in the hall!) The breakfasts in the courtyard pavilion were outstanding. Everything fresh, lots of homemade items. The staff was very helpful, especially Chiara who helped us with restaurant reservations and suggestions and other tips. The B & B is located an easy walk to the central piazza. Great restaurants in Ferrara with a lot of variety of cuisine. Ferrara was our central base for visiting Bologna, the Valpolicella, Ravenna, and the Ferrari museum.We loved Ferrara and the Alchemia!

Wife and I stayed at the Alchimia for four nights during our trip to NW Italy.||||We were a bit concerned about there being no reception available in the evening and access to the hotel and our room but we were given full details before leaving UK and all worked very well. We should not have been concerned about this!|| ||The hotel was lovely. Super and spacious twin bedded room. Very good breakfast and also a very nice garden room to enjoy it.||||All the staff etc were very pleasant and the owners Chiara and Euro were especially welcoming and helpful.||||One point to note for the elderly and slightly infirm like us. The hotel is maybe 500-600m from central Ferrara so some walking is required every day to take in the town.||||Euro's advice to get the Ferrara Bus and Fly from Bologna Airport was excellent too: €15pp, good value.

I had the most wonderful stay in beautiful Ferrara. Alchimia has an outstanding delicious and healthy breakfast, superclean and beautifully designed rooms. Here you find quiet rooms to work in and a caring and generous staff who make sure you have everything you need. Coffee and Tea facilities in every room, bike rental, strong W-LAN and beautiful meeting room for 10 persons included.

My partner and I stayed here for a week last May, it was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed! Comfortable, spotlessly clean, homemade delicious baked goods every morning for breakfast. Best of all for us was having the lovely garden to relax in before and after busy days of sightseeing. The owners family are lovely and couldn't have been kinder or more helpful.

We stayed only one night here. The room we had is very clean, functional and nicely decorated. The breakfast has been excellent (sweet & salty), plentiful and tasty. The staff is friendly and helped us with the right amount of information to have a good city tour and an excellent dinner.||If arriving by car, you have an excellent parking place, inside the property.||The historic center is at 10 min. walking distance.

We had a quiet, cosy comfortable and spacious room, facing the garden, good breakfast, convenient location, easy and safe parking. The staff and owner were exceptionally friendly and helpfull,making us feel at "home", introducing us to beautiful Ferrara and its surrounding highlights, making our visit so much more enjoyable, with the intention of coming back!||Dina & Ken

Amazing place with wonderful people! Service is brilliant and you fill yourself like home. Cosy, stylish, spacious and bright rooms. Dreamy backyard, where you can have a breakfast, to relax, enjoining the view. Also you can take free bicycle to have a trip around Ferrara and to look at fairytale castles.
