"Nestled in the heart of the medieval Malá Strana district, just a few short blocks to the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, the opulent Hotel Alchymist resides within four historic homes—the oldest from the 16th century—that were once connected by underground tunnels. But there’s nothing primitive about the property, whose nameis a reference to Prague’s 17th-century reputation as the capital of the dark arts. The hotel flaunts its Baroque pedigree in rooms embellished with gilt-framed mirrors, silk damask fabrics, plush four-poster beds, and loads of antiques and art. Guests have free use of the health club—fittingly located in a cellar where a crystal chandelier hangs over a mosaic-tiled plunge pool and an antique Chinese bed graces the relaxation area—but there’s also a spa and sauna for more targeted pampering. The Aquarius restaurant serves first-rate Italian fare (and a breakfast buffet in the morning), but to start dinner on the right note, head to the lobby bar for the complimentary wine and cheese tasting each evening."

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa in Prague, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I’ve ever had. This 5-star luxury boutique property completely exceeded my expectations, and I will absolutely be back. From the moment I arrived, I felt like royalty. Check-in came with a glass of prosecco and a refreshing cool towel—such a thoughtful touch after traveling. I stayed in one of their Junior Suites, and it was massive! The décor was rich in gold accents, with such an elegant, historic charm that made me feel like a queen. It was definitely worth the splurge. Each morning began with a beautiful prosecco breakfast in the restaurant. The buffet was plentiful, and I loved being able to order extras like omelets or salmon benedict. The service throughout the hotel was outstanding. Every staff member I encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. One of my favorite touches was the nightly turndown service with chocolates—those little details made the experience so special. The hotel also has a lovely spa with a relaxation area, spa pool, and sauna, which was the perfect way to unwind after exploring Prague. Each afternoon, guests are invited to enjoy wine and cheese hour, another little luxury that makes you feel truly at home. Between the charm of the property, the amazing service, and all the thoughtful amenities, the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa is a true gem in Prague. I left feeling completely spoiled and cannot wait to return!

Lovely and luxurious property with excellent staff. The junior double room was massive and beautifully decorated. Great amenities. The staff is excellent- nothing is too much for them. It is close to many attractions and opposite the American embassy and therefore very safe. The breakfast could be better though. There is literally no cereal option but their omelette and oat meal were excellent. All in all a fantastic place to stay and would fully recommend this hotel.

Staying at this hotel felt like stepping into a palace. From the grand architecture to the elegant interiors, every detail exuded charm and sophistication. The rooms were incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered a perfect blend of luxury and comfort—ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the city. Everyone we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Whether it was offering local tips, arranging transport, or just greeting us with a smile, the service was top-notch throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a place that offers both regal ambiance and heartfelt hospitality, this hotel is a gem in Prague. Highly recommended!

Had a great time at the hotel.. everything was very elegant and nice.. rooms were a bit on the small side, but it meant it was very cosy.. there is a free wine and cheese event daily for 30 mins, and is a good opportunity to meet ppl. The breakfast was good, but could have been better if there was some additional items such as smoked salmon or something included. The location was awesome, and the best part of this hotel was the proximity to the restaurant behind the hotel, which served local Czech food. We had the Grilled carp with bacon, and Goulash with bread dumpling which was amazing.

This hotel exceeded my expectations for sheer beauty, customer service, comfort, convenience to main attractions, and food. It is absolutely lovely and far larger than what meets the eye from the front of the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights in a twin bed suite which was quiet and relaxing. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety of foods to select from as well as a glass of wine if you are inclined for one. The pool was lovely. It was about a 15 minute walk to the castle uphill and the same distance to Old Town via the Charles River. I was not aware it is next door to the US Embassy so our rental car was scanned for security reasons and then valet parked for our stay. Certainly a wonderful experience!

This hotel captures old Prague in a magical way. ||The hotel is located only 5 mins walk from Charles Bridge and the gate way to old town. ||Location for exploring Prague was just perfect.||Cannot fault anything at the hotel, we stayed in a Royal suite and oh how Royal it was, stunning. Lovely little touches with chocolates and fruit etc..each night.||Had a fairytale spa and food after which was amazing!||As mentioned the hotel is located perfectly for exploring Prague and you don’t have to walk too far to find some cracking little bars and restaurants even before you cross over the bridge.||Highly recommended 👍
