The staff were amazing and I met most of them because I had to stay several times as a traveling nurse. They were accommodating with me having to check in and out at reverse times due to I work night shifts!! The bed was so comfortable and everything was very clean and I enjoyed the pool!! They took special care of me and I am so appreciative of them!! I love Alders Hotel parking lot across the street, security at the door and close to Magazine St.,, Feret St, St Charles the list goes on and on and don’t forget about the Price!! That’s the Best Part!!! Love it!!

Google
After a horrible time at another hotel I was very pleased to find Alder Hotel. The young lady at the front desk was very welcoming and beyond pleased to help me. She set me and my family up with a nice room very quickly. The security guard was also very friendly and had a great sense of humor. We felt very welcomed. Our room was very nice and clean. We loved the balcony overlooking the pool. Our overall experience was very pleasant and we definitely recommend this hotel.

Google
We enjoyed our stay. The bed wasn't very comfortable but I feel like that's most hotels. Very clean hotel, great service, nice rooms, and very conveniently located to the hospital and Audubon Fertility Clinic/Surgery Center. Would stay again.

I was booked through a phone representive through the hotel assuring that there was free breakfast included in my stay (which consisted of free coffee/tea) & my government rate discount would be applied for the 2 night stay which it didn't. So the total cost was $620.53. The pros: the customer service from front desk/security team! The free parking across from hotel...The cons: the price of stay, lies of free breakfast, and major upgraded needed for bathrooms and replacement of stained carpet in guest room. The shower water is barley warm and don't ask about the pressure...The laundry room soap dispenser steals your quarters...& TO mention in this establishment I was bitten twice by bed bugs...

We appreciated the hospitality and cleanliness of this hotel and their staff. Everyone was so welcoming and always willing to answer questions. This is a family friendly place. I loved the neighborhood proximity to restaurants and cafes. The design mixes vintage with modern touches. I would come to stay here again!

I stayed at the Alder about two weeks ago, my goal was to check in (I had my dog with me), grab a bite to eat locally, walk my pup in a safe location, relax and enjoy my evening before checking out in the morning and continuing my road trip. That goal was achieved. I loved the mid-century look of the exterior of the hotel as well as my room. The exterior (including the guest parking across the street) was well kept and secure. A gentleman regularly drove through the lot keeping an eye on things. I was able to walk my dog in the lot and felt safe. The lobby was clean as was my room. The fridge was cold and kept my leftovers and beverages chilled enough. The temperature in the room was cool and I was very comfortable. The bed and pillows were firm enough and I had a good night's rest. The hotel was quiet. The two ladies that worked the front desk (one at check in and the other at check out) were polite, courteous and helpful. I neglected to get their names, but they were also dressed professionally. My only disappointment was with my balcony. I did not think ahead of time to ask for a room facing the street (and parking lot) so my dog and I could get some air and also, I could see my car in the lot. The balcony was very small, and I had no view, so I didn't utilize it. Thank you, Alder Hotel for a stress free, comfortable stay. It is very much appreciated!

Google
Absolute amazing! Everything is clean, everyone is friendly. Not super busy. Close to one of our favorite restaurants, Bear Cat Cafe. Pool is nice. Walk in shower is great! We've stayed here a couple of times within the last few years and each stay was amazing! We plan to book another stay in the future.

Google
Spacious room with excellent work space. Frig,, microwave, coffee pot, and lots of storage\closet space. Internet free and quite functional... Not the kind that hardly works and pay for better.. Neighborhood grocery a couple of blocks away. Restaurants in easy walking distance. Very quiet. It was a somewhat grueling walk to Tulane \ Audubon Park area over uneven sidewalks but doable with decent shoes. Though neighborhood seemed safe enough in day time... curb\uber might be smart\ not a large enough hotel for dedicated taxi stand. Staff very attentive. Doorman for security at night arrival. They have place to print boarding passes just off the lobby.

Yelp
Short trip for JEF + Fashionatstake We were delighted when we checked in early and the lovely Lady that received us was kind enough to find us rooms on the same floor, each room had a balcony overlooking the pool and outdoor area. The rooms had been renovated and there was a small food-mart for essentials in the lobby and a meeting room on the first floor the laundry room was a few floors up and a small business room for office work. The former dinning area has been turned into a lounge of sorts filled with magazines a microwave oven and coffee station for thirsty guest If you use the pool there are plenty of towels and a good number of cabana chairs to relax and in the lobby the restrooms and water fountain are convenient Prime location next to The Corner Burger Shop, Bearcat Cafe and even a large grocery store, the grocery store has an in store restaurant we got smoothies and breakfast items.

Yelp
I like the Alder... a lot! I've stayed here a handful of times over the past few years and can't say enough good things about it. Most importantly: the hotel is clean, and the staff is professional and friendly. Amy, at the front desk is awesome! On our most recent stay, my wife and I were here for our daughter's graduation from Loyola. I booked four rooms for family members, and everyone was very pleased with their stay. The hotel is located next to the Oschner Medical Center. It is probably the closest proximity of any hotels for Loyola and Tulane. You are two blocks from Freret Street, which has a bunch of good restaurants. The pool is no frills, but here again, it is clean and well maintained. The hotel also provides free parking in a secure lot. Secure parking is key if you are moving a student in or out of Loyola or Tulane. They spruced the place up a few years ago, so any reviews prior to that probably aren't relevant. If you are looking for a clean hotel, good service, and reasonable rates, you should consider the Alder.

Yelp
How have I not written a review for this hotel by now? I stay here. Often. It has free parking, close to the hospital that I work at when I'm in town. Clean. Always friendly. It's a great spot. I am convinced since it's attached to the hospital that are one point these were hospital rooms. I don't have proof of this but the layout is very hospital feeling. The lobby is welcoming. This isn't a chain hotel but man they are doing everything right here. Computers. A little snack area. A hangout area. Really done up well. You can control the AC in your room which is very important to me. It's not very loud but the mini fridge in the room and the AC together make enough white noise for me to get a nice sleep. This hotel is also close to freret street. You have tons of food options a 5 minute walk away. My favorite midway pizza, company burger, a Mexican place, kolachie kitchen for breakfast, and a rouces grocery store for my gallon of water. Oh and there's a sorta run down anytime fitness nearby if you're a member. Went there this trip and man they need to be redone. But another review. Stay here!

Yelp
Alder Hotel is located in the Uptown New Orleans and I decided to book this hotel after doing an extensive research on the neighborhood. The location is safe and in fact Ochsner Medical Center (regionally ranked #1 in Louisiana) is located just behind the hotel. [Incidental Deposit]: A temporary hold $100 will be charged upon check in and customers must use major credit card or debit card because cash is not allowed. Hotel will release the fund upon check out. [Smoking Penalty Fee]: Smoking is not allowed in rooms, balconies, and/or stairwells or else guest will be paying $250 smoking fee. The smoking area is located outside of the courtyard. [Parking]: Complimentary self-parking is available in the parking lot directly across the street from the hotel. Do NOT park the lot right next to 4522 Magnolia St or else your cars will be towed away. [Lobby]: No complimentary breakfast, but tea and coffee are readily available. [Grab-n-Go]: Light snacks (mostly $2) and beverages (mostly $3) are available for purchase. [Check In / Check Out] Check in is 4 PM and check out is 11 AM. [Courtyard & Swimming Pool]: Available from 6 AM to 10 PM. [Business Center]: Two computers and one printer are available to use. Guests can use them to print boarding pass in advance or use them for a simple internet search in case of cellular phone runs out of battery and not able to charge. [Other Amenities]: Coin laundry is located on 9th floor and ice machine is located on 5th floor. Umbrella bags are located at the front entrance. Daily light housekeeping services (between 9 AM to 3 PM) will be provided to all in-house guests and full service cleaning will be provided to in-house guests staying 3 nights or more. Please place "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door if guests do no wish any housekeeping services. No indoor gym and no airport shuttle service for this hotel. [Notable observations]: Always double check & give an extra push to make sure the door is completely locked because sometimes the door doesn't close completely. This is not exactly the quietest hotel as I heard loud music from a party bus parked in front of the hotel at 12 AM, annoying roosters crowing at 3 AM, and humming AC at the patio. Shower had hot water with good water pressure, but I wasn't able to completely shut the shower door and small water spill was to be expected. This is a good hotel to stay in New Orleans (safe neighborhood, free parking, hot water for shower, friendly staff, and affordable) if guests can ignore small annoying details such as no breakfast, no gym, and miscellaneous background noises.

Yelp
Yep. I stayed in a hotel less than a mile from my house. I had to be out of my house for a couple of days so I opted to relax at the Alder rather than crash in with family or friends. It was definitely the right choice. The hotel was lovely. The parking was free. The AC was cold-cold. And the beds & pillows were comfy. And everything was clean! What more could I want? I also appreciated the balcony for some fresh air. Looking at my neighborhood from the 7th floor was definitely a change. Random things: I'm pretty sure my dentist office was in this building when I was a child, maybe on the 5th floor. And the pool area is way nicer than I expected! There was a pool behind this building back when it was an office building but it was not nearly as pretty.

Yelp
I chose this hotel because they offered free parking. I've been coming to Nola enough over the years that I need to get around on my own to visit different spots for food and touring. Also bc it's in the restored 17th Ward. It's right next to a hospital which was fine with me. It had an "off" smell when I walked in the room but it seemed to go away once I really stepped inside. The shower and bed were both comfortable and that's what meets my criteria of travels. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. Great retro decor. Friendly staff. Good location. Close to New Orleans Children's Hospital which was reason for being in NOLA.

Yelp
This hotel was a pretty good, inexpensive choice that was about 15 mins from all the tourist spots such as the French Quater. The rooms were clean (except the shower head), we got room service the first night we were there, and we had a balcony, even though there were no chairs or anything out there. The front desk lady at night is kind of stand-offish, and we would say hello, and she wouldn't even answer. The morning person was much more friendly. The neighborhood wasn't the best but it is next to a hospital and there was a police officer in the guest parking lot across the street every night we were there, which made us feel a lot better. We didn't really have any problems and I would use this hotel again.

Yelp
Nice secret sneak hotel in the middle of a medical complex. Close to Freret action and interstate. The staff is super helpful. Rooms are big and clean. While they do not offer breakfast there is a grab and go section that has a little something for everyone. Pack a swimsuit cause it has a pool.

Yelp
This is my go to hotel in New Orleans. Great location. It's safe. Spacious rooms. Clean rooms. And FREE PARKING.

Yelp
Very clean and the staff is kind and helpful. The bellman knew who I was as soon as I said I was meeting a friend from New York, " I think I know who your friend is, and she already has your key." Creepy or kind, you decide, I'm going with kind. Free breakfast is a bonus.

Yelp
I enjoyed that this hotel is 15 mins away from bourbon and canal street . It's adjacent to a hospital so I enjoyed that it had 24/7 security . Free parking across the street and police is watching the parking lot as well. Let's start with the pros. friendly staff , clean hotel , 24/7 coffee, quick to bring towels and sheets . Due to Covid they do not offer cleaning the rooms . If you do run out of something they are happy to bring it to you . All the rooms is equipped with a microwave , refrigerator (no freezer ) & blow dryer. All the rooms come with a balcony. I love the walk in shower and room space. I stayed in room 203 and the toilet would leak after flushing it . I informed the hotel and they sent the maintenance. However when he did a flush of course the toilet didn't leak haha. I had to constantly ask for towels just to soak up the water. I would stay here again

Yelp
This hotel was a great find!! We had a reservation at another resort which was made pre- Covid but when we got there we learned that they had since stopped offering all amenities so we were in a pinch to find a one-week stay and we wanted certain amenities. Lucky for us we found Alder-which is a basic hotel made super special by the friendliness of staff, a super clean and well appointed room with a balcony and a mini kitchen, fresh brewed PJ s coffee 24/7 a grab and go breakfast daily and a wonderful l mostly private pool and outdoor lounge area. Oh and did I not mention FREE parking and super reasonable rates. The proximity to Feret Street and Tulane was an added bonus. I want to shout out to AMY at the front desk for being so nice and accommodating, and Sam the bellhop/ maintenance guy for helping us navigate to our room and answering all our questions.

Yelp
I had a very relaxing stay at the Alder earlier this month. I'm so used to staying in the quarter but this gave me a new insight to the Uptown area. I had a king size room that came with a very spacious layout. Full size sofa, chair, desk, kitchenette (microwave, sink and fridge). The bed was a true king and definitely comfortable. Bathroom is a shower only but the water pressure was a high note. Overall the customer service from check in to those assisting with breakfast or rooms was standout. Everyone I encountered had a pleasant attitude and the hotel was well kept. The only suggestion I would make would be to had some variety to the continental breaks fast. Great price. Very nice space, absolutely wonderful aesthetics.

Yelp
The Alder will definitely be my go to hotel when visiting New Orleans. From checking in to check out my experiences was great. The staff was helpful in giving my BF and I an umbrella, they were also super nice in giving recommendations for restaurants in the area. We had a corner room on the top floor. The room was spacious and updated, including a walk-in shower. Our room also came with a balcony. If you are looking for a nice and quiet hotel go with The Alder it is also next door to a hospital.

Laurel F.

Yelp
I first learned of the Alder from a recommendation by the Tulane admissions office. I've stayed here several times and find it more and more delightful with each visit because the staff is so amazing! Though this is not a "luxury" hotel, it's super-clean and the hospitality is second to none. This is a quiet hotel on a quiet street within a block of great restaurants and dive bars on Freret St. Next door to a large hospital, but sound-proof windows mean you don't hear any noise from the street. Fast pickups from Uber and/or the gated/security-monitored parking lot for your vehicle means you can easily and safely get yourself downtown to the heart of the action in under 15 minutes.
google avatar

Susan Z.

Yelp
Comfortable and quiet. Unfortunately there are few options for breakfast here but there is coffee and tea available in the lobby all the time. Other items for purchase.
google avatar

Yelp
loved staying at Alder! Great location and clean. The parking was a great perk!

Yelp
This hotel was a nice quiet hidden gem. Very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was looking for hotels for Essence Fest and most hotels near the convention center or stadium were booked. This hotel is about 15-20 minutes from everywhere we wanted to check out. Bourbon Street, the Superdome, and the convention center. The exterior has some wear and tear, but it's still very nice inside. The beds are very comfortable, and a short walk from the hotel you can find bearcat the brunch spot that has amazing food. I'd definitely book again.

Jane S.

Yelp
My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Alder! It was perfectly situated to get to Tulane, French Quarter, Magazine Street, Bourbon street and more. Its an older building with an old school feel, however everything was spotlessly clean, everything in the building was in working order, and the staff was over the top helpful. Special shout out to Janice and Melinda, thank you for helping us make our trip comfortable, memorable, and magical!!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Working nightshift on a hospital contract. The housekeepers are yelling down the hall, slamming everything they possibly can and playing loud music. I mentioned to them that I work nights and I'm sleeping and I'm pretty sure it got louder. The water temp for the shower is tepid at best
google avatar

Jill R.

Yelp
I love this hotel. It is in a great location as you can walk to many places and they have great restaurants nearby within walking distance such as Bearcat. The price is great and they offer a great discount to Tulane families( ask for the Wave discount). Tatiana, the manager at this location, was super nice and helpful and modified my bill to accommodate the discount. The hotel is nice and clean, very quiet and there is a parking lot right across the street. It is my new favorite place to stay. They have a breakfast until 10 a.m. and a safe and refrigerator in the room.

Sheila J.

Yelp
The staff of Alder Hotel was excellent and pleasant. They were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk was very helpful, had answers to all my questions. We felt very safe while staying at the hotel. We took advantage of the location, within walking distance to dinner and other nearby stores. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting NOLA.

Yelp
We stayed at the Alder Hotel during Mardi Gras 2020. It is a great neighborhood both for local restaurants and ease of access to the French Quarter by Uber. Amy made our visit extra special. She helped us enjoy the parades through sharing arrival times, recommended a great local restaurant called Hi Hat that had excellent Southern food, and recommended that we visit the New Orleans waterfront where we dined at The Blue Crab. We enjoyed a fabulous seafood dinner and waterfront dining. Amy made our visit extra special. The rooms are nice and clean. They are large. They do not have any special views. It would be nice if the outdoor area had a garden or sitting area that had plants and a prettier area. There is a small pool, but the outdoor area needs work. Thanks Amy- We had a very enjoyable stay, and we appreciate all you did to help us enjoy our three days in New Orleans.

Yelp
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE ....I have to hang my phone off the balcony to receive and make calls!!! Dropped calls are regular!! No Breakfast here yet they used to have it! No housekeeping they hand you the towels and they had no wash clothes???

Natalie S.

Yelp
Great hotel to stay at when in New Orleans. Can't beat CHEAP, nice, safe, and free parking. Only thing that sucks is that it's so loud when people talk in the hallway, I can hear elevator from my room, and when people shut their doors it's VERY loud.
google avatar

Christine R.

Yelp
It's such a shame I have to write a negative review like this. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and our room was spacious. It was an overall good location that was close enough to the action but not right in the midst. The issue we had was with the front desk/management. Here's the timeline. -I book the hotel in January for a March trip. Pay a deposit of the 1st night. -My friend arrives before me and checks in. She has to give her card, but the front desk ENSURES that they will only hold that for incidentals and my card will be the one charged with the bill -They charge my friend the remaining balance that evening we checked in -She calls them and asks why she's getting the charge when the front desk said she would only have incidentals. They reverse the charge and put it on my card. All is well, we think. -We have a great time, arrive home. -2 days later, I see the balance on my card post (not pending) -Day after that (3 days after we get home), my friend says the balance is now in her posted transactions. I check my account to see that the charge is no longer there! Why did they even switch it? How do you reverse a posted transaction? -My friend calls and they switch it back to mine (now pending) -I get a call from management and they are trying to "sort it out", passively aggressively blaming me for not giving them the card they already had on file, and saying it was impossible that the charge was reversed (when it was). It's unprofessional at best. If you're going solo and/or don't need to worry about something like this, go for it. We will; however, not be back.

Yelp
I lived in New Orleans for a while and haven't really surveyed the hotels around here before until I had to come down to help someone move. I booked this place through Hotels.com at the very last minute. The location is excellent. You are right behind Ochsner Baptist which is great for anyone travelling for medical purposes. It's walking distance to St. Charles where you can easily grab a street car and only a block or so from a ton of shops, bars & restaurants on Freret street. Access via car is very straightforward and parking is free with your stay. The rooms are clean and modern, I was traveling with someone who is a little mobility impaired and we were very pleased to discover that they have walk in showers instead of the usual tub and shower combination, and we didn't even have an ADA type room. This is a top notch place to stay. It is a little far from the madness of downtown which is nice, but it's a sub 10 dollar taxi/uber/lyft to get to the tourist parts of town and, as I said, the street car is basically right there. For 90 dollars a night plus tax this is hands down the best place to stay in New Orleans.

Michael M.

Yelp
BEWARE!!! The Alder Hotel charged me for a reservation which I cancelled in January, 2022. I had made a 4 night reservation which I had to cancel due to illness. I called and cancelled the reservation well in advance. I was told there was no record of the cancellation. It took me over a month of calling to finally reach the general manager with several calls that resulted in wrong information given to me. The manager still refused to refund my fees. NOT good customer relations.

David J.

Yelp
Alder was a nice peaceful hotel! I loved their service and friendly atmosphere! I plan on staying here many more times. Clean and inviting!
google avatar

Yelp
No gym, I was literally in shock there wasn't at least a room with free weights. The front desk suggested a gym nearby, but they do not offer free passes for it. So that was a bust. Stairs are outside and made an ok workout. As mentioned free parking.. we took an Uber for 5 around $15-20 to French quarter, not bad at all especially if split. During our stay, the elevator broke. It wasn't too much a big deal since we were only on the 4th floor, but I did see people waiting around with luggage. We took the stairs to avoid the wait. Showers need to be closed and a mat laid out or else there's a lot of water on the floor. Overall not too bad of a stay, just little details like that here and there.

Yelp
Every single employee that worked there was amazing except for CRAIG! Get rid of him. He does not represent your establishment at all. Delmanaco, Tatiana, Paris and Rochester were amazing. Those four were very personable, polite and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay there was comfortable. Especially Paris and Rochchester. I could talk to them all night. They kept us informed on the best restaurants to eat nearby and further out. They obtained the bus schedule for us. Delmanaco was on point with his directions on how to get to the Trolley. When we arrived to check in he took our bags right away and waited for us to grab a quick bite before breakfast was over. Craig on the other hand...I called the hotel after the concert at the Superdome (Saturday night, July 6, 2019) and Craig picked up. I told him who I was and which room I was staying in and expressed to him that my phone was dying and I can't get an UBER and it's almost midnight (matter of fact it might have been after midnight at that point). I asked him for the number to a Cab Service. He ran off the number to United Cabs so quickly that I needed him to repeat it again. They second time he ran the number off again with the same speed but this time with an attitude. Again I was unable to catch all of the digits. He kept doing it with the same speed and more attitude. I said to myself he must be busy and I'm keeping him from doing something else. I made it back to the hotel on 2% battery power left and CRAIG was just sitting at the front desk watching something on his phone. All lights were off. No guests around. He didn't even look up to greet us as all the other staff members had done every time we walked in. So I guess I was just interrupting him from whatever he was watching on his phone. I was even more perturbed. The hotel itself is beautiful. I believe it's only 2 years old. Clean, Spacious, Modern look. They have an outdoor pool. The pool area looks better in person than it does on the website. They provide a light breakfast every morning from 6 am to 10 am. Waffles, Bagels, Yogurt, Hardboiled egg, cereal, coffee, tea, orange juice. The bathroom in main lobby is always clean. They have a cute common area by the elevators. The rooms are really nice, clean modern. The Wi-Fi is not as strong as I would like but coming from New York I feel Louisiana has a whole had terrible reception everywhere. We were only there for 2 nights so we didn't need our room cleaned so we kept the Do Not Disturb sign on our door. The cleaning service left us a nice note saying they came to clean but didn't disturb as per our note. I thought that was nice. I have no problem returning again but it is far away from the popular areas (Bourbon/Canal Street and the French Quarters). But it's nice to come back to peace and serenity after partying all night long in those popular areas with such a lively assortment of people. Thankfully Paris and Rochchester let us know about some really great eateries on Freret Street which is about 2 blocks from the Alder so we had plenty of options close by. Yes I will return and request room 309 again.

Tammy E.

Yelp
Wonderful place to stay. We are staying here because my newborn grandson is in Ochsners Baptist Hospital. We have been here for a week and will probably be here for another week or so. The people are so friendly and accommodating, whole place from elevators to rooms are spotless. Would definitely recommend Alders Uptown.

Yelp
Great hotel. All around 5 star Greg (believe that was his name). Fabulous. Gave us extra care arriving at 3am. Not one complaint. We will be back.

Yelp
My husband and I came to New Orleans for our honeymoon. This was such a nice place to stay in. Its 11 minutes away from the French quarter, which we liked. We were happy to be away from the chaos when we wanted peace and quiet. The front desk was very accommodating. We got in early and Grace was kind enough to find us a room before our check in time. She also sent up a bottle of champagne!! This was a great start to our honeymoon. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Friendly staff & clean rooms. It was perfect walking distance to restaurants & bars. Less than 10 minutes I'd say. I liked that there was a security guard on duty and that they are a pet friendly hotel. Even though we didn't have some amazing view the view was still nice.

Yelp
Reservation process - 5/5 stars. This part went well. No pricing surprises upon check-in or check-out. Check-in - 3/5 stars. They were a bit congested; a room full of people trying to check in. It may not be fair to be so harsh, as check-in is at 4pm, and I arrived about 4:05-4:15. But - given that's when check-in is allowed to begin, I would have thought it would be better handled. Nice enough clerks. There were a couple of bell-hops to assist if you needed it. I didn't use them. The room - 4/5 stars. The room was nice; the view was horrible, but I don't stay in hotels for a view. The bathroom was clean, as was the room. The mattress was a bit lumpy to me. And the pillows, there were several of them; some firm, some a lot fluffier, which I liked. I just wish they'd been normal sized. They were all about 2/3 the size of a normal pillow, but they left out about 6 of them. It had a fridge, a microwave and a room safe. I only used the fridge. The stay - 1/5 stars. This is harsh, because of my purpose in staying there - to compete in a physically demanding sport. I needed the rest. I live in Mobile, and wanted a good night's rest - which I didn't get because of some odd noises here and there. It's certainly not the fault of anyone that works at the hotel - but the people that built it. Not enough insulation. I could hear the people upstairs moving about at certain times. Maybe they were just really fat/heavy? Clumsy? Additionally, I wanted to stay in a place that had a mini-fridge; part of why I chose the Adler. But when I spent the outrageous sum at Whole Foods to make my salad for my breakfast (I did mention I was competing - I eat healthy stuff for breakfast. I love a waffle as much as the next guy, but I don't want to puke it up while I'm trying to row a sub 7:00 2k on a rower/erg.), I didn't anticipate the mini-fridge freezing my salad to a hard block of ice! That's the main reason they get such a low score. It's a fridge, not a freezer. And I wouldn't have been so harsh, but when I complained upon checkout, all I got was a non-heartfelt apology, not any effort to appease my unhappiness. Checkout 2/5 stars - Part of me is thinking my perception is overly harsh because of the frozen salad, but upon checkout, the clerk was on the phone, but was looking down and literally scratching her head, too pre-occupied to notice me - and for more than just a moment. I would NOT stay here again. Just too much money for what you get.

Yelp
This hotel is not built for peace and quite whatsoever. All night we had to listen to the people above us stomp around and yell. The people best to us blasting music and laughing until 430am. There's nothing in the rooms drown out the noise and it's a major issue. We stayed there 3 nights and I don't feel as I got any rest ANY of the 3 nights. I completely regret staying in this hotel and had I had the energy to fight I would have demanded a refund. The walls are so paper thing you can here the elevator ding every time it goes off. The only thing they could offer me when I asked to speak to management was a terrible bottle of champaign. Overall I'm very disappointed in our stay and the only thing I can think of why there are positive reviews for this hotel is that the guests were too drunk to realize how loud and annoying the place was after coming home from Bourbon at 3am.

Yelp
We had a great stay. Beautiful room, attentive staff. We were checking in after a 10-hour drive, tired and grumpy. Doorman opened my passenger door and in my stupor I had no idea what he wanted. Then he made a sweeping motion with his hand and said, "Welcome." Oh, he was opening my door for me! That brought a smile to my face (and a chuckle from my "I need to drive the whole way" husband.) Check-in was a breeze and we headed up to the top floor, the 10th. Our room was beautiful. Two queen beds, desk area, with safe, small sink with coffee maker, small fridge, microwave. Large bathroom. Bathroom door was barn-style, beautiful. Not sure if all rooms have this set-up or if it was because it was a handicap room. Although we did not have a wheelchair bound person in our family, the room was well setup and considerate of such. Decent balcony. View decent. Very small hotel, but still has nice courtyard, lobby, sitting area and small conference room. Neighborhood not great, but after visiting New Orleans all day I cannot say ANY area is great. Gated parking lot ( over 40 cars, only 60 rooms, must be full?) was patrolled. Nice continental breakfast downstairs. Coffee, tea, juices, muffins, bagels, cereal, waffle maker. Every staff member smiling, helpful. Cannot comment on price because we used travel mile points. But highly recommend staying here if you're in New Orleans.

Yelp
I was wary about staying in a hotel that had no reviews. I Google searched it, and found very little information, review wise, only 2 on their Facebook that were like 2 sentences long. What I also found is that this is a newer hotel that was recently remodeled and opened in June of 2017. The hotel is very luxe looking from the outside, we arrived in the evening, so the blue lights behind the Alder sign looked nice, in my opinion. The hotel staff member that greeted us was very nice and friendly. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was the same as the photos, nice mod iron artwork, very clean, and modern storage wardrobe for clothes. We had a walk in shower with a glass wall. Bed was comfy, room stayed nice and cool, and our balcony overlooked the pool. Breakfast is continental, cereal and milk, bagels with cream cheese or butter, prepacked muffins or danish, water, apple or orange juice, and yogurt. Also coffee, which I think was available 24/7, but I don't drink coffee. Parking is across the hotel and is free (as I write this review), which was a big factor on why we stayed here. The hotel is close enough to downtown/french quarter, or so south to Garden District. I didn't notice a lot of noise from the hospital next door, but I also sleep with earplugs, but my partner didn't mention anything either. The only other thing I would mention is be careful with the glass shower door or you will have water all over the bathroom floor. There is a clear tab on the glass wall and it must be snug on there because the door seals against it, one time it was loose and I didn't notice and water leaked all over. Not a big deal since they give you extra towels. Great location and facility. Will probably stay here when I go back to NO next year.

Yelp
Off the beaten path, walking distance (.8 miles) from the trolley stop, a $10 Uber ride to the French Quarter and a $35 Uber to/from the airport. We absolutely loved this hotel. It was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful! They recommended great places to eat! The reservation specialist I spoke with saved us money and headaches by recommending we not rent a car and use the trolley/ ride services for our stay. She was absolutely correct! We spent about $120 over 4 days, saving on rental fees, ins and parking fees! Will definitely stay here again! Wish I could find this hotel everywhere!

Yelp
Stayed at this family owned New Orleans gem from May 2nd thru May 6th. This mid century designed hotel had the coolest vibe. The entire staff at this hotel was just fabulous. I cannot not wait until my next visit to your fine hotel.

Yelp
We decided to book a nicer hotel, and based on the pictures and reviews, decided on The Adler. We arrived, and were immediately greeted by the very pleasant lady working the desk. We went up to our room, and everything seemed ok until we went to the bathroom. My wife immediately noticed that it appeared the shower hadn't been cleaned, as there was hair that was very visible. The toilet was also hard to flush. I would expect that of a seedy motel, not so much of an upscale hotel like this. I went down and spoke to the front desk. She immediately apologized and offered to change our room. We were given one across the hall, which was much better. The bathrooms are very spacious. Both had large walk in showers. They were decent. The beds were ok, but not super comfortable. We liked how the Adler was located just outside of New Orleans' busy section, so it was quiet. There is a dedicated free parking lot across the street, which was nice, as most of the other hotels we looked at. Overall, the price was a bit above the quality of the hotel.

Yelp
By far the best customer service anywhere I've ever stayed. Adrian saw me struggling with my bags across the street and came across the street to help me. He took my itens to my room without asking. Cesar at the front desk was awesome as well. I would highly recommend, my only con was there was no Netflix

Yelp
The hotel has paper thin walls. So no sleep or rest is plausible here unless you're planning on partying all night. The service and the way the hotel is put together is actually very very nice. But the experience as a whole was unpleasant due to other people's lack of common sense and unfortunately the hotel was built incapable of blocking out noise. There's nothing to drown out sounds from upstairs or next door or outside of your door. If you're looking for a cheap, modern, hotel this is it. If you're looking for cheap, modern, and quiet/relaxing hotel? This is not it. The front desk tried to give us complimentary champagne to "help with sleep" because obviously, this is a city that "never sleeps". But even Las Vegas hotels are quieter and that's the real sin city. Although the gesture was nice, all 3 nights we've been here, I have gotten 0 sleep. They offered to let us change rooms as well, but it wouldn't have mattered because the noise won't cancel out. The cherry on top? Front desk tells us when we first complained that "there's no manager here, they won't be back til Monday" when we came down at 6 am from no sleep the first night. What do you mean....every hotel has a weekend manager or supervisor on duty. They informed me later that day to call the front desk next time if someone is being loud. They seemingly solved the issue at first. But, unfortunately they cannot control every single person that chooses to be loud. My hearing isn't that great to begin with, but the fact that even I can hear all types of noises at anytime of the hour says a LOT. And yes, I'm not exaggerating when I say, every. Single. Hour. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Absolutely a beautiful hotel. Absolutely horrible and awful experience. How did this hotel get high rated stars is beyond me ‍

Yelp
Stayed here because the French Quarter was booked. Rates were much more reasonable. The hotel was clean and had parking included, a plus in our view. 2 blocks away is Freret St which had several restaurants worth the walk. Safe to walk as well. About a 15 minute drive to French Quarter parking. Would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
I have nothing bad to say about this place! It's right next to the Baptist Hospital, but you wouldn't know it. It was quiet, the sliding doors on the balcony is heavy and blocked any noise. The place is a mid century modern design. The room has a fridge and microwave, even dishes and silverware! Don't turn the fridge up too high, we froze our water they work so well! It's very clean, a stand up shower only, but I don't take baths anyway, it is very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The TV has limited channels, but we weren't there to sit around and watch tv. The breakfast was nothing special, a typical continental with waffles and eggs. The staff were all very nice, from the housekeepers all the way up. The exception was Mr. Rochester, he's a treasure! He gave us a lot of tips for neighborhood eats and things to do (Freret St. is only two very short blocks away, very walkable). My mom kept call him Frederick for some weird reason and he took it in stride. Free parking in a secured lot across the street was another very nice thing. This place isn't far away from anything you want to get to, usually 10 to 15 minutes away from downtown even with traffic. You won't go wrong with this place.

Yelp
Well-appointed, midcentury-style boutique hotel in Uptown. Rooms were well designed and comfortable. We really enjoyed the unique features and charm of this hotel. They have a private, free parking lot directly across the street, which was an added plus. It was also nice having the balcony overlooking the pool, though it rained most of our stay so we didn't really utilize it. Great views of the surrounding neighborhood, and walking distance to many restaurants and shops on Freret St. The only negative for us was the poor sound barrier from the hallway. Even speaking at a normal tone and volume, we would hear everyone who passed by our door and were woken up a couple of times by loudly shutting neighboring doors. It would sound like someone was entering our room, which was unnerving and made it difficult to get good sleep for someone like me, who is a light sleeper.
