Aldo’s hostel is the perfect place for all hikers! He genuinely cares about all the guests and helps and gives tips where he can. I felt very informed and safe there. It is definitely a social hostel but without pressure. At the breakfast table you’ll always find people to talk to about the latest hikes and everyone is open to talk about their experiences, which helped me a lot in the beginning to find good hikes for acclimatisation. The breakfast is really nice and you can prepare something for your hikes, they even provide plastic bags and the fruits are a lovely plus. Sometimes the WiFi was slow and the hot water was not always there but I didn’t mind those things so much. All in all I really enjoyed my stay there, I felt very comfortable, almost like a second home. Huaraz is a great city and Aldo is a great host!

I booked a private room and honestly love it. Great views from the 4th floor, excellent location. Nice kitchen and rooftop. The guy, Jose who checked me in was friendly enough. Great hot water and pressure 😮‍💨 pillows are nice. There is an issue with the outlets being loose but bring some tape. Room is sunny and bright (eye mask recommended for zzzs) and no elevator so be ready to lug your stuff. Though to be fair I didn’t ask!

The best hostal in Huaraz! Aldo the owner is awesome, friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. The rooms are perfect and the free breakfast is delicious. There are great areas to chill out, and a lovely vibe. I would very highly recommend

Aldo’s Hostel in Huaraz ended up being one of the best places I stayed during my time in Peru. What really sets it apart is the staff, genuinely some of the kindest, most helpful people I’ve met on the road. They rent trekking gear at fair prices, offer solid advice on routes, and never push tours on you. Everything felt honest and low-pressure, which I really appreciated. It’s a place where you can rest, plan, and connect with people and the mountains. If you’re heading to Huaraz, don’t think twice. Aldo’s is the spot.

Great vibes, definitely one of my favorite hostels I've stayed at. Free breakfast was a huge plus and you can rent gear through the hostel.

We stayed at Aldos between treks the entire three weeks we were in the Huaraz area. The place is amazing. The rooftop terrace has a great vibe where we could work, chat with other tourists, learn about different treks, and have full access to the kitchen. Aldo was amazing in helping us arrange different treks and excursions. ||We stayed in two different private rooms during our time there. The first was in the back and had less street noise but a lot of noise from the restaurant next door, especially at their closing time. The second room was in the front: it had some street noise but was a nicer room. I found both rooms acceptable levels of cleanliness. It is not Hilton standards, but I saw absolutely no evidence of any bugs or rodents our entire three weeks there. Overall, it was an amazing stay.
