Alebrijes, Cocina Mexicana (Malá Strana)

Didn’t expect to find legit Mexican food tucked just below Prague Castle, but Alebrijes really delivered. It’s on a quieter street in Malá Strana, just a short walk from the tourist buzz, but it feels like a little escape once you’re inside—colorful, relaxed, and unpretentious. I ordered the Suadero—flank steak marinated in milk and spices. The flavor and texture were on point—tender, rich, and just different enough to stand out. Honestly, it was fantastic. I almost went back a second time before leaving town. The rest of the menu looked solid, with a mix of Mexican standards and a few regional touches. Friendly, easygoing service (English spoken), and they genuinely seemed to care that you enjoyed your meal. Prices were reasonable. It’s a bit out of the way compared to the main restaurants, but 100% worth the visit. If you’re craving something different or just want a really well-done meal in a quiet spot, this is a great pick.

Absolutely delicious.. we came for dinner and were blown away by the hospitality. Thanks to the Manager for taking time to talk to us. Our Server and the whole staff are amazing. The drinks, Best margarita I’ve ever had.. The Food, Incredible they have traditional Mexican flavors down to a science. Do yourself a favor, make a Reservation an don’t miss this Gem.!

Great Mexican restaurant by the Charles Bridge. The food was delicious and the staff was absolutely lovely. We went there without a reservation but they were nice enough to offer us a table for a shorter time. We had tacos, which were delicious and the portions were really generous. We didn’t have enough time to try their margaritas but they looked very good. The restaurant was cozy and had a nice atmosphere. All in all i would recommend.

Alebrijes nails true Mexican flavor—juicy al pastor, silky mole, and zesty fresh salsas. The vibrant alebrije décor transports you from Prague straight to Oaxaca. Staff keep icy margaritas and hot plates coming with a smile. Veggies and carnivores alike leave stuffed at fair prices.

Absolutely amazing experience! The food was extremely well made, the staff was incredibly sweet and there was a very small wait for our food to come. We only got the entrees but even then they filled us up really well. Great experience overall! Fully recommend!

Amazing Mexican restaurant close to the narrowest alley in Prague. The food was really tasty and fresh, best Mexican food I tried in a long time.

We came for dinner on a Monday night and made reservations, but it wasn’t crowded, so we didn’t really need them. The food was amazing—I had the beef burrito, chicken soup, and tacos, all super flavorful and authentically seasoned. Portions were super filling, and the drinks (margaritas + a gin cocktail) were just as good. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

Great food, atmosphere and service. The waitress spent 10 minutes recommending us plates, and everything was super tasty. I never thought I would eat such good Mexican food in Czech Republic !
