"Three Floors of Books" If you're looking for a reading material, look no further. Inside this well-lit bookstore, you'll find thousands of books ranging from poems to photo books. There are books on sale, but most are full price. In my opinion, the best titles are in the basement. Even if you're not interested in buying a book, this is a peaceful place to check out.

3 storey quiet and spacious bookstore with helpful employees ready to help you search up a title you’re looking for. I didn’t manage to get an Ample Hills Creamery 2014 I was there for, however , I did enjoyed a 30mins browsing. You will also find some postcards and greeting cards along the way!

With the loss of so many bookstores it is a joy to have Alexander Book Company still in business. Wide selection. There are chairs throughout the store to sit down and see if a book you are interested in is one you wish to buy. The store is a short walk from the BART station.

My doorman informed me that this store was closing and so had to pay a visit to see and say goodbye to it’s manager Jerry Thompson who was one of the first people I met when I arrived here 18 months ago ; I hung out with him manning the cashier and exchanged bon mots ; after he saw my essay, he was the one to gift me Herb Cains classic book of essays on SF; it was variegated store with its tentacles that start with literature and then move into in all departments including American studies , travel essays , photography; Hope it finds a new home.

Great independent bookstore in the financial district. Not a megastore but quite a lot of sections and books in its three floors. Lots of on sale books as well which are my favorite, I can't resist the urge to buy a couple. Service was pretty helpful and it feels personal, something you don't get very often these days in retail in SF.

Alexander has a wide selection of books. The place is great to chill out and browse through the selections. Go bargain hunting on discounted items.

Nice book store open inside the city, you can't find all the book here but a lot of interesting book for children and novel. And you can find the sale for old book, quite cheap!
