First of all, let me start off with the good. The location is great, which usually matters most to me. Although, given how cheap taxis are in Egypt, this could be less of a concern. And unfortunately, that's this hotels strongest asset. The staff were also very nice, friendly and helpful can't complain there. Now let's get into the bad of which we'll unfortunately there's much more of. First of all, WiFi is only available in reception, not in the room it's a BIG ISSUE and should be addressed. Thankfully, we had some spare data. Second of all, cleanliness the floor was not vacuumed at all! They asked if they should clean the room on the second day and I said just vacuume please they said they don't have one and they just do normal clean! Like what how can you not vacuume the floors! Second of all the wardrobe it wasn't wiped down at all. I had to wipe it down before putting my clothes in, and the toilet paper was pure black. The bedsheet seemed clean however there was a large burnt hole on the side. Room was a good size but the bathroom was really small. With a really crappy small shower that barely worked in terms of water pressure. Although at least they gave you free shampoo and shower gel. You only get 2 large towels. Ideally, this should be 4 one for the feet when you get out, one for hands, and 2 large for shower. Final point the price, food is WAY OVERPRICED! Both days we went to the Windsor Palace Hotel to the blue harbour rooftop restaurant that had an amazing view and cheapest food with better choice. Even tea coffee or water isn't included not to mention breakfast. Which costs 200 with prices up to 500 for a main meal. So we definitely didn't eat there can't talk about the quality of food but considering how they "clean" the room I wouldn't want to try. Also its right across is a school so it gets very loud in the morning. Now in terms of room price in Egypt in other places you can get a much much better Hotel in other places eg we stayed in Giza for 26USD with a large room amazing bathroom breakfast included and Pyramid view. It was called King Pyramids View. Unfortunately this isn't Giza it's alexandria and in terms of other options in a similar price range I didn't see anything much better that was close by. If you are planning a short stay then this Hotel is a maybe but if your staying for longer which I don't know why you would considering how dirty and disgusting Alexandria is. But if your interested in some sites it's ok for 1 day.

We had a nice quiet room with a balcony looking at the Church. It was a clean room with tea making facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, it is a good budget hotel.

First of all no internet in the rooms as written, there was a router with ‘NO INTERNET CONNECTION’ i called many times the reception because i have a lot of works to but unfortunately with no luck he didn’t help me and his manager want me to go to the lobby in the other building at 3:30 AM TO WORK!! Second yesterday suddenly the elevator stopped and my wife and my daughter 2 month years old we were into the elevator and after a long time someone came and opened the dor Third a very bad location with no parkin

Hotel was okay, little overpriced for the quality. Wifi was working about 50% od the times and only in hallway. The manager is very greedy and scammy. I asked for change of EGP to euro and he aggreed, for little commision, which would be okay. But he gave me old EUR bank note that I cannot pay with. 👎 Do not trust this hotel.

I recently had a horrendous experience at the hotel. My attempts to contact the reservation desk multiple times before arriving were futile, as no one answered the phone. Upon arriving at the hotel at approximately 6:15 am, I found the receptionist deeply asleep on the couch in a camera blind spot. I repeatedly said "Hi" loudly over ten times with no response. Worried about his well-being, I approached him and heard him snoring. Despite my aversion to physical touch, I eventually shook him to wake him up and inquire about room availability. When he finally woke up, I apologized for disturbing his sleep and politely asked about my request. His response was to "wait for maybe half an hour so I can check this in the system." I asked if it could be checked immediately, and he reluctantly admitted it was possible but insisted I wait until he woke up fully , after he went back to sleep Frustrated and angry, I left the hotel without securing a room. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of customer service is unacceptable. I would strongly advise against staying at Alexander the great hotel.

Wonderful location - near to 80% of the sites but not many tourists. Lots of amazing bakeries and cafes nearby with a local vibe. In Alexandria there was no hassle unlike Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. Service was very kind, friendly and professional. Value for money was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning again.

Excellent value for money for this little gem of a hotel. The entrance is very unpretentious at a narrow street near a Greek church. Yet the rooms are spotlessly clean . Towels are delivered in sealed plastic cases. There was warm welcome and genuine effort to help from the hotel staff. The location is also strategic and excellent with most of the interesting sights within a 10-15 minutes walk. Alexandria Biblioteca is about 1km away and Quaitbay Fortress is also about 1km away ,while the middle of the bay is about 500m away. And the price was surprisingly low for such quality
