A beautiful family run hotel, Gordon and his amazing team are very attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Great food cooked by an amazing chef. The restaurant is beautifully styled, lots of very comfortable seating. This is a taste of paradise! I highly recommend a visit!!

We were recommended to stay at Alexander’s by a friend who spends a lot of time in Africa and I am very grateful we were because it was a fantastic experience from beginning to last.|The rooms were huge, clean and had good a/c. The food was delicious, especially the dinners and we ate in both nights. The roof top dining room and bar is extremely comfortable with several locals eating, so you know it is good. |Gordon is a very convivial host, he was very helpful when we had any queries and he leads an effective and extremely engaging team.||Highly recommend.||(We had great sun downers at the Slipway, which is a short walk and has many interesting shops)

A privately run hotel , probably falls in the boutique category. Nice private and despite construction quiet hotel with a lovely courtyard and pool. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed, but don’t expect shiny rooms. ||All the staff are really helpful and polite, as with the owners they are always available without being overbearing. Nothing was too much trouble. From reservation to checkout Gordon and others were there and everything was seamless. ||Felt like a home from home, great to use as a base to explore Dar and for business meetings too. ||Breakfast was pretty good both cooked and continental options. And real coffee too. ||The food in the restaurant is excellent and the balcony area is very relaxing. Hidden gem in Dar near the yacht club and slipway and will come again

Alexander’s is a hidden gem. Tucked away on a side street in Masaki, it offers an oasis of tranquility with rooms surrounding a gorgeous garden and tiled pool. Each room is individually curated with local art and toiletries from Zanzibar. The service is excellent on all levels. Even if you don’t stay at the hotel, the restaurant on the rooftop terrace is worth a visit. The food is amazing - by far the best seafood platter in Dar es Salaam!

A really fantastic, most special place. Gordon and his team‘s hospitality is outstanding, always friendly and the serice is so personal. Gordon even greeted us personally when we arrived from our international flight ar 6am and kindly offered us a later breakfast, which we truly appreciated. When I asked for a bandaid he brought a whole package for me from the supermarket. In addition to the people, the hotel is very pretty, stylish in the most special sense and the terrasse ist just … wow. While we usually go to different places, we had dinner there twice, it was too good. The area around is very cool and absolutely safe. Can‘t imagine there is a better hotel in Dar! What an oasis!
