Staff is kind, engaging, & attentive. Beautiful property. Rooms refreshed daily-without even having to ask! People are out cleaning and refreshing the property every morning. Breakfast is good, lots of options, and served daily until 10:30. Who doesn't love a fresh, made-to-order omelette?! Pool, hot tub, lounging area, and bar are all great! Daily 1-hour open bar for happy hour? Yes, please!! Wonderful experience overall! You must visit and see for yourself!

Google
Gonna be honest, when we booked I wasn't sure what to expect. But to say it was one of the best places I have stayed would not do them justice there. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. From finding an extension cord (which I still say they went and bought just for us) to bringing out a cupcake with a candle and having everyone sing Happy Birthday to my friend at happy hour, just from mentioning the day before that we came down for his birthday. Rooms were always clean, bar staff was amazing. The breakfast every morning until 11am, OMG so good after a night out late. Having beach chairs and coolers for the guests to use and bike rental on site made the stay even better for quick and easy last minute ideas. Can't wait to stay again

We stay at Alexander’s Guesthouse every time we visit Key West, so when it came time to choose accommodations for our wedding week, there was no question—we had to stay here. Where do we even begin? From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by familiar, friendly smiles that felt like coming home. The staff consistently went above and beyond throughout the entire week. A sweet, unexpected moment that stood out was when they discovered it was my birthday at check-in and later surprised me with a cupcake and candle to celebrate. Little gestures like that show just how much they care. This trip was all about our wedding, but staying at Alexander’s always feels like being part of a close-knit family. We shared conversations, called each other by name, and genuinely cared about how each other’s days were going. That warmth and connection is truly special. And the rooms! They’re so comfortable and beautiful, with personal touches everywhere you look—no detail is too small. It’s the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and thoughtful design that made our wedding week even more memorable. We honestly can’t imagine staying anywhere else when we’re in Key West. Alexander’s Guesthouse isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place we love to come back to, time and time again.

I took my 75 year old mom to Key West for the first time and we both loved staying at Alexander's Guesthouse. The staff was super friendly, kind, and welcoming. The location was great because it is in a quiet neighborhood yet close enough to walk to the popular tourist areas which we did all weekend. We especially appreciated the attention to detail of the staff restocking the coffee in our room since my mom and I are both coffee lovers and drink a cup early in the morning so we never had to ask them to replenish it. Both my mom and I's favorite part of the whole place was the tranquil pool area. It was great to spend the morning exploring and come back after lunch just to relax and cool down in such a beautiful setting. We will certainly be staying here again upon our return!

Alexander's Guest House is the ultimate in guest lodging. The staff is unrivaled in their ability to make everyone feel like a close friend. They are genuinely interested in providing a relaxing, enjoyable experience for your visit to Key West! Nothing is too much to ask as they work to meet the individual needs of every guest. The guest house itself is beautiful and lovingly taken care of by the friendly staff. Each room is unique and comfortable providing all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The complimentary morning breakfast is delicious, providing a variety of food options to suit everyone's palette. Later in the afternoon a complimentary happy hour tends to gather guests around the pool for friendly conversation. Our visits have always been remarkable because of the staff, amenities and wonderful friends we have met along the way.

Google
Alexander’s is a perfect place to stay in Key West. The house and grounds are well appointed and very island stylish. Our room was spacious and very clean. Pool is the perfect size for friends and laughs. The real gem here is the team, Tim, Olga, Bautista and everyone we interacted with knew us by name and anticipated anything we could want. 10/10 for the team at Alexander’s. We will be staying here again.

Google
It was a great place to stay for a quick getaway in KeyWest. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The service is top-notch as well. The weekend we went was quiet and peaceful. The neighborhood is clean and close to the social scene. It was great to be able to rent bikes and ride around town. We hope to be back soon!

The staff is fantastic at this oasis of a property! Every person feels like family and is so helpful for anything and everything you may need. The breakfast each morning and happy hour top it all off. Thank you for an amazing vacation! We look forward to many more future stays. ❤️❤️

Yelp
Truly amazing and the most perfect LGBT retreat. My 5 day stay here was absolutely perfect. I've never been to a hotel where as soon as you step foot in their property, you automatically feel a sense of relief, acceptance, and welcoming. The staff are all incredibly friendly, happy, and engaging. The grounds are clean and well-maintained. Located just a little under a mile walk from Bourbon Street and the gay area, this modern farmhouse is impeccably well-groomed and efficiently designed. We had room 3 which was small but fit a queen bed, tv, small fridge, closet, and a spacious bathroom. The common area in the back has a heated pool, a few lounge chairs, a large jacuzzi, a pool bar (open 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm for complimentary happy hour), as well as 2 roof decks (clothing optional). Their other amenities include daily complimentary breakfast, a welcome drink, bikes for rent and plenty of discounts to local businesses (from restaurants to bars to activities). The vibe is more relaxed than that of Island House right across the street. The guests and the staff feel like there is an automatic friendship, often sharing stories in the pool, at breakfast, at the lounge decks etc. My partner and I absolutely fell in love with Key West through this hotel and plan to make this a yearly visit.

Yelp
We had the most amazing time and this will be our go-to in the future. The owners, Robyn, Alexander, and the rest of the staff do everything to make sure you have the best trip.

Yelp
Everything about this place was excellent. Outstanding customer service. It was very clean. The complimentary happy hour offered top notch cocktails and beer. They even offered delicious frozen drinks that were perfect for the hot and humid month of July. They make you feel like part of their happy family. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
From the moment we checked in, until we regretfully had to leave we loved Alexander's Guesthouse. Staff was 100%. We happen to be a lesbian couple, but would've stayed here regardless. They have at least 15 unique rooms, layed out between a few diff floors in multiple good sized cottages. The breakfast was at a good time 8:30-11:30 everyday which was large, varied, and delicious! They always have coffee, water, tea, and juice on hand, welcome cocktails, and daily FREE happy hour from 3:30-4:30ish (sometimes longer depending on the crowd.) We made friends, swam at 2am, took topless photos on one of the clothing optional decks, rented bikes from there, played on site games and more. going back again. We went midweek and it was a quieter crowd. As we left it seemed to get a little more amped, but everyone seems to respect an unspoken curfew. Davoll St & Mallory Square are a brisk 10 Min walk or $10 Uber (standard price really w tip.)

Yelp
We spent 3 nights at Alexander's Guesthouse and it was definitely not enough! Next time we will stay longer... The staff are all incredibly kind and helpful. They were also accommodating around providing vegan breakfast items for us. It was so relaxing to just spend time lounging in and by the pool. All the guests were so friendly. We didn't realize when we booked that it's a place people come year after year, often during the same date ranges. So people actually know each other, and hang out and talk. Even though it was our first time there, we were included right away. It's nice to look forward to going again and seeing the same friendly faces. Alexander's guesthouse also was quiet and calm, which we appreciated as we weren't looking for a party scene.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place!!! Everyone there were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are well kept and the bed actually feels great. We had a slight hot water heater issue for a few hours but the establishment reimbursed us a portion for the inconvenience. I cannot imagine staying at another place if I'm ever in Key West again. They just make you feel welcomed all throughout our stay there. I definitely recommend this place for a short or a long stay.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this place. Wonderful staff that go out of their way to take care of you. Delicious breakfast every morning. Beautiful and clean rooms. Fun and nice happy hour every afternoon. Highly recommend this place if you are planning a trip to Key West.

Yelp
This place is such a gem! Everything was seamless from start to finish. Mr. Tim even called me the day before so that we could expedite our check in when we arrived. Once at Alexander's, we were immediately greeted by Mr. Tim, who treated us like long lost friends. He gave us a personal tour of the property and went over pertinent details. When he showed us to our room (rm 10, highly recommend!), he noticed that the outdoor fan was not working. He had this fixed immediately the next day! (We got in right as they were closing due to covid hours.) Everything was spotless, and they exceeded expectations and made sure that everyone still felt safe with covid going on at the time. The decor in the house and rooms was beautiful. The pool area and garden was incredibly lush and tropical. If we didn't want to hang out on the outdoor bed (there was a separate outdoor area with our room), there were plenty of spots to hang out at the pool or one of the porches overlooking the beautiful property. Mr. Tim also set us up with bike rentals so that we could use them immediately when we got there. The bikes are definitely the way to get around the island quicker and without worrying about car parking. (There is street parking, but first come-first served.) The other part of our stay that was exceptional was happy hour every day from 4:30-5:30. They kept all of the fruity drinks (or wine/beer/etc) flowing! If it was after 530 and you still wanted to hang around at the pool/bar for more drinks, they would happily bill your room, with your permission. Nearly everyone we spoke to had been staying at Alexander's for years when they visited the Keys, and now we understand why. Will definitely be back. Thanks for the incredible hospitality!

Yelp
My wife and I LOVED it here. The staff was phenomenal, the amenities were amazing, the other guests were friendly... such a safe and beautiful space for LGBTQ people. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
If your looking for low-key quiet and relaxing this is the place for you. It's the type of place to read a book and sit with it's ambient music that you can't hear it. For me I prefer if they would amp music a bit for afternoons by the pool (which unfortunately is shaded in 80% of the deck all day long). I can only take so much Frank Sinatra or ambient mood music turned to a level you can barely hear it. The breakfast is included and they do a nice job although it's fairly sugar heavy and the fruit was often not the freshest or best quality. It's defiantly above standards though for breakfast offered at similar establishments. The complimentary happy hour was too early in my book 4:30 is the time most people want to take a break for the pool as the sun is going down and take a break. But 4:30 is the appointed time. Disappointed in the selection. No beer included, wine was not drinkable and tropical mixed drinks aren't my bag. So that perk wasn't much of a perk for me. The rooms: nicely decorated although need to update bathrooms, need more storage, walls and doors are thin. One of the rooms I stayed in the main building had a glass door with blinds that let light from the hallway into the room at nite. A solid door would be highly recommended. Things like upgraded shower heads and nicer tiling would make a big difference. Storage in one of the rooms was an old tv cabinet that had no longer been utilized since flat screens were introduced...shoved into a corner as a place to store clothes...odd choice. Overall the staff was all nice and accommodating. The overall experience was pleasant although not sure I would make a point to return. A 3.5 star experience for me.

Yelp
What a marvelous place Alexander's Guesthouse is! I recently stayed there with some friends and we couldn't have been more pleased. All of the staff was so warm and welcoming, and it was clear that they were genuine in their desire to provide the best stay possible. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their jobs and were truly happy to be there, and there were so many lovely details we discovered throughout our stay. We felt so comfortable, and I look forward to another trip in the future. The surroundings were beautiful, and the location is perfect. I've stayed other places in Key West in the past, but now that I've been to Alexander's, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. I recommend them wholeheartedly!

Yelp
Recently stayed here for a quick two-night trip with my boyfriend. Beautiful B&B, great breakfasts, nice complimentary happy hour for guests each evening. Staff was wonderful and made some great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. You can rent bikes directly from the B&B, and we spent a fun day exploring off-the-beaten-path Key West. Location is perfect - far enough away from the touristy/party side of Key West (Duval Street) but totally walkable to get there. Street parking can be a little tough, but once we found a spot we didn't need our car again until checkout. They have a lovely pool and jacuzzi, although we didn't have time to experience either. Looking forward to returning!

Yelp
I couldn't recall if I'd reviewed Alexander's on Yelp. If I already have it bears repeating! My wife and I had the good fortune of a free room at friends home 4 blocks from Alexander's for 25 years. They moved to another tropical island. We love where they moved however we still love Key West. Alexander's looked from the past reviews that we would "fit". And we have twice in 2021 and we go for 2 weeks April 2022. In every category one could think of the staff to a person is friendly, sociable and accommodating. Guests are from absolutely every spectrum and the interaction at breakfast and happy hour remind us of how ALL of Key West was but unfortunately sometimes no longer is. We can no longer spend a whole month at a time in Key West. When we can visit Alexander's is our home. Thanks y'all, see you in a couple months! John and Jen

Yelp
The Guesthouse is a charming and well kept lodge. I liked the way it has been decorated and the cozy spaces to unwind, relax and just be. This is not a party house but more a of a somewhat stylish enjoyable and relaxed stay. The first day we were greeted by an amazingly friendly, professional and competent staff member. Her name is Laura. She surely knows hospitality. She helped us with reservations at local entertainment, restaurants and attractions. I say bravo Laura. Our room was VERY clean, I am a clean obsessed person and this place passed my inspection! Clearly the cleaning staff does a superb job! The room, as the rest of the house, was nicely arranged and decorated. The welcoming drinks and fruit infused waters were a great and welcoming gift! The outdoor pool and decks were very charming and nurturing. I really liked the ambiance. I hated though the smoking deck, so unnecessary and retro smoking is not healthy and exposing others to second hand smoke is not cool Breakfast was fine, not spectacular but fine We had a marvelous time at Alexander Guesthouse and would go back soon. Next time with friends. The location and reasonable price makes it an attractive lodging selection also. One sour note, Doug and Tom or whomever was the front desk staff on the day after our arrival should take some customer service courses. He needs to improve his skills. He was not very professional, competent, welcoming, or hospitable. He did however wore a shirt with a back inscription that read "Love Wins" which is fine so long as he reads it and more importantly practices it‍ In all AGH is a fantastic inn. We will be back

Yelp
My friends and I spent a long weekend here getting two rooms. The property is absolutely stunning and give you a relaxing welcoming vibe. The staff is top notch and extremely friendly. They do offer a free breakfast and a daily free happy hour! Bikes are available for rent which I highly recommend. It's much easier to get around Key West and Uber's are kind of pricy. If you are looking for a fun or romantic getaway, I highly recommend you give Alexander's your business.

Yelp
My first time staying here! Loved the experience, the person at the front desk walked out to welcome us, it felt like visiting a friends house. Everyone had a smile and the service was great! This has become my favorite place and hope to stay here many more times!!!

Yelp
Amazing all around. Excellent accommodations, friendly staff, and a wonderful vibe. My husband and I have been coming for years - our favorite place to vacation!

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place, came here with my husband for our wedding anniversary and the entire staff were terrific we both felt nothing but love throughout our entire stay and we can't wait to come back to visit thank you guys. And they have a great complimentary breakfast with quite the variety and happy hour where you get to socialize with the other guests.

Sea B.

Yelp
We stayed here for a couple of nights last week. The staff, accommodations and other guests staying were all wonderful. Our suite was clean, had a mini fridge, microwave, etc. nice breakfast and social hour in the afternoon, no problems with free parking on the street. We will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
My best friends and I stayed at Alexander's Guest House for my bachelorette weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the moment we arrived we felt like family and so at home! The staff, the accommodations, the amenities and the location were all perfect - we can't wait to visit again! I highly recommend staying at this beautiful resort and meeting the wonderful staff that make the experience so memorable!

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and professional. Breakfast each day is super. The drinks at the daily Happy Hour are great, We had a wonderful time at the pool socializing with other guests. Alexander's is a wonderful place to relax in Key West. It's easy to walk to almost anything you want to see.

Yelp
Have stayed here twice and going back in December 2020. Great people, including Robin and the lady who manages the place who is totally terrific Virginia? Very well managed. Great pool area. Rooms very nice. In a quieter area of Key West. Highly recommend Alexander's Guesthouse.

Yelp
A last minute decision to head to Key West to celebrate our first anniversary left me looking for accommodations. I found Alexander's Guesthouse and am so very glad that I did! From the moment we arrived, greeted by Tim & Brian, we were welcomed with a celebratory bottle of wine in our room. They then worked with a local baker to have a special "Happy Anniversary" cake made for us. Attention to details is apparent from the moment you step in the door. Comfortable beds, great pillows, clean & comfortable accommodations and the complimentary breakfast and happy hour each day make this place an incredible value! "Thank You" to all of the staff...you helped make our first trip to Key West and our first wedding anniversary extra special! We will be back!

Yelp
Stayed here for my first visit to Key West -- impeccable service. My room had huge beautiful french doors -- which were lovely during the day but at night too bright for me to get any sleep. The next morning I asked if they had any other rooms I could move to, but they offered to install blackout curtains instead. I slept soooo well!! Excellent concierge, lovely breakfast in the mornings, happy hour, turn down service, and bike rentals -- they make it very very easy to relax and enjoy your trip. Beautifully designed and centrally locates (bit quiet!) I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Excellent bed and breakfast. Super friendly staff that helped me plan a surprise birthday getaway months in advance. Awesome decor and excellent location literally walking distance to everything. Complementary breakfast was very delicious. We stayed in room number 10 which was gorgeous.

Tony H.

Yelp
Stayed here for my first visit to Key West. The property is immaculate and the staff is accommodating and friendly. This is a great spot if you're looking for a relaxing stay. It's also close enough to the lively Islam House across the street to be able to enjoy both party and relaxation. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone who visits Key West looking an LGBT friendly space.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
If there was a way to leave more stars I would. Beautiful hotel, great staff and perfect location. We found this hotel on tripadvisor by chance, and so glad we did! We stayed in room 10 with the private patio area - definitely a unique room! Overall, this was a GREAT stay! Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is the epitome of fabulosity in Key West, and I would return in a heartbeat. Upon arrival you will be made to feel like an old friend, and the entire staff couldn't be any nicer. We booked room #14 right off the hot tub and pool area, and it was the PERFECT place for us. The room was very clean (and cleaned efficiently each day as requested) and quite comfortable. The daily happy hour is the perfect way to start your evenings in paradise. I can't comment much on their breakfast offerings, as we ended up sleeping in each day (too much late night fun, lol). My only complaint would be that the water pressure could be a bit better in the shower, and the temperature tends to fluctuate suddenly while bathing. This is easy to overlook based on how great everything else is. Hope to see you all again in the future!

Yelp
My partner and I were very excited to stay here for our first time in Key West. We had a long drive and we're greeted with cranberry vodkas at check-in! I was worried about the parking situation as there is only street parking but we got a spot directly in front, only moved our car 1 time and returned to an even closer front spot! The Guesthouse is located only a few blocks from Duval Loop stop #16, super conveniently located. The staff is all friendly especially the employees at front desk. They have a complimentary happy hour 4:30-5:30 with a good amount of mixed drinks on the menu. You can also ask the bartender to make any drink you'd like. We stayed in room #5 which is upstairs in the main house overlooking the pool. There was a mini fridge, HUGE TV, and great lighting for make up at the sink. We only made it to breakfast one morning and was typical of what you would get at a free breakfast. They had a chef making omelettes, hard boiled eggs, good Cuban coffee cake, fresh fruit. It was good for a light bite but if you want a big brunch I would recommend going to one of the many brunch spots Key West has to offer! Would HIGHLY recommend! We will be staying here on our next Key West trip!

Michael P.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful LGBT friendly place to stay. This guesthouse is bursting with charm. The outdoor patio has a great pool and large jacuzzi. There is happy hour with tasty cocktails and the breakfast is plentiful and delicious. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean. Laura at the front desk took exceptional care of us and showed us great hospitality. Will definitely stay here again when I come back to Key West.

Kimberlyn G.

Yelp
If I could leave 10 star review I would. We booked the entire place for a surprise birthday party. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The rooms were spotless, the food was delicious, the drinks were on point and the service was amazing. From the time we walked in until the time we left we were always taken care of! Everyone agreed this was the best vacation/surprise birthday party we could have asked for! Laura- I can not thank you enough for working with us to make this happen! You and your staff have set the bar high, we will all be back for sure!! - Kim

Yelp
I go on vacation once a year and I only go to Key West and I only stay at Alexander's Guesthouse! They are like family and have created the most comfortable, warm, clean and inviting place to stay that I never consider any other accommodations. The staff is amazing and I never want to leave once I am there. I cannot thank them enough for all that they do for me when I am there and I hope anyone who reads this will consider staying there on their next visit to Key West!

Yelp
My partner, cousin and two friends made our first trip to Key West to celebrate my birthday and the staff at Alexander's made it extra special. Jeff was an amazingly thoughtful and courteous host as was Ryan at the front desk. Their suggestions of what to do and where to go were spot on and they helped us build an itinerary that made every day interesting and wonderful. In addition to the great staff, the facilities are excellent. The rooms gorgeous and the common areas well maintained and inviting. The pool & hot tub were just heavenly. I would strong recommend this to anyone; especially couples or anyone celebrating a special occasion.

Yelp
It is possible to rate beyond a 5: I hereby so state to all @ Alexander's Guest House. Bravo. Thank you. I stayed at Alexander's for the first time in January 2013. I have already rebooked to return in 2014. I, as so many others, was welcomed most pleasantly the moment I walked through the street gate to the lobby entrance (thank you, Charlie.) Having read previous yelps but not having visited the property in advance, I was more than impressed and felt most comfortable. The Property is beyond the descriptives of it's website: charming, inviting, quiet, well groomed and convenient to all of the township. Each room is different in decor and views - but most have a wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, TV, free-wifi (I was in Room 4.) Daily maid service: spot on - an abundance of fresh towels and toiletries (h2o.) Each morning a complimentary buffet breakfast is offered: hot dishes, cold cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, juices, yogurt, coffee.......lovely and filling. A complimentary happy hour is hosted each afternoon @ 5: a GREAT perk and a GREAT way to meet fellow guests. The pool and jacuzzi are available 24/7: NICE. Alexander's Guest House has all of the amenities (and more) than a 5 Star property/major hotel in KW or anywhere. The staff "quietly" goes about their day to make sure that every consideration is afforded every guest. Thank you to all @ Alexander's who I may not have met. Thank you Angie, Jeff, Michael! You made my stay most, most enjoyable.

Yelp
Surprised my husband with a trip down to Key West for his birthday back in December and I chose the Alexander to stay at for the night. Yes, we were the only straight couple staying on the property that weekend, but all we were looking for was good service, nice property, good food, and nice decor (no Golden Girls decor here!) and we got it all here---so what more can you ask for?! We had a bungalow by the pool and thought it was very nice! Only downfall was that the TV remote was broken and when I got up to push the channel button, it got stuck! Oh well, maybe it was a sign to move on from watching TV and drinking champagne on to better things ;) lol I would definitely take the Alexander into consideration again on my next trip down and hope you do too!

Yelp
Just got home from 4 nights at Alexander's. This was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our vacation in Key West. The staff was welcoming, accommodating, and friendly during our entire stay. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon happy hour was always fun and very sociable. What made this different from a typical hotel, is that this place is small and intimate. The guests all sort of get to know each other. By the time we checked out, we had made many new friends that we will stay in touch with. The rooms are clean, and the place is classy and understated. Great for couples or anyone looking for a nice relaxing time with a friendly crowd. If we make it back to Key West in the future, we are definitely staying here again.

Yelp
If you're used to staying at hotels when you travel, staying at a guesthouse requires a change in mind-set. There may not be a 24-hour front desk, or a valet to bring the car around whenever. But, be prepared to sacrifice the anonymity of a cookie cutter chain for a more intimate, personalized experience. The very best guesthouses deliver a superb experience with top notch service and leave you wondering what you ever saw in a hotel anyway. And Alexander's Guesthouse is the cream of the crop at delivering a superb experience. The very visible front desk employees deliver extraordinary personal service. They know your name, what room you're in and engage with you as you come and go, offering help with any need along the way. They take your pleasure personally and feel it's their responsibility to ensure you have a good time, with helpful suggestions catered to your travel personality. Maps, tour tickets, bike rentals, dinner reservations, excursions - they do it all. When Agnes heard that the guided cemetery tour wasn't happening one morning, I had a printed copy of the self-guided tour almost immediately. They are a font of knowledge that you won't get at a hotel chain. It's not quite Anna Madrigal, but you will feel like family. Kudos to the employees I interacted with the most: Agnes, Jeff and Charlie. Guesthouses also have a personality. Alexander's is one of peace and quiet, inclusiveness and relaxation. Everyone is welcome. Period. And that sort of welcome allows everyone to be themselves, to relax and enjoy their vacation. It's a job they do well. The rooms are well decorated and cute, the expanded continental breakfast is delicious with a little individual touch each day and the hospitality is unparalleled. There's a reason Alexander's is rated at the top of the travel listing for Key West. It's their dedication to providing you the best experience possible.

Yelp
I'm almost reluctant to write a review of Alexander's because its like my partner's and I little secret! Firstly, Key West can be a very hot place. Even though I was born and raised in Tampa, coming to Key West was like stepping on Mars. The good? Alexander's provided a level of comfort and relaxation able to make me forget how d*** hot I was! This place is pricey, but i'd say it's worth it. Pool is fantastic, and happy hour every afternoon (free drinks) brings out all the guests in one, big gay get together! The staff is amazing and accommodating, and more than willing to make your stay extra-special. Location is fantastic--close to everything yet secluded in its own way. I miss you Alexander's...

Yelp
My husband and I recently visited this gem to celebrate his 40th birthday. We had initially discovered Alexander's Guest House when we celebrated my 40th - so we knew that we were in for a wonderful time. Upon check-in, we were greeted by the friendly staff and given a tour of the facilities. The garden and pool area are lush with tropical foliage and provide a relaxing atmosphere from the daily hustle of the Keys. The upper sun decks, where clothing is optional, provide a beautiful view of the surrounding neighborhood. Even if you want to keep your clothes on, this is a great vantage point for sunrise and sunset. The accommodations are beyond compare. The rooms are tastefully decorated and kept super cool by individual air conditioning units. The bed was comfortable and the shower refreshing after a long day (and evening) of fun. We had such a wonderful time meeting the other guests around the delicious breakfasts, the great happy hour, or simply lazing around the pool. I can't recommend Alexander's highly enough. The staff are wonderful, the house and rooms are beautiful, and the guests are always top notch!

Yelp
I recently visited AGH with my husband for our 15 year anniversary. It was phenomenal and far exceeded my expectations. My room was absolutely perfect. Breakfast each morning was wonderful. Every morning we would catch up with the other guests and get their dinner recommendations. The pool and hot tub were very relaxing. I have stayed a few places in KW but from now on, I will only be staying here.

Yelp
We've been staying at Alexander's since 2004 and it just keeps getting better. The property is updated on a regular basis and the staff is top-notch. Alexander's attracts a diverse mix of guests and with every visit we make new friends.

Yelp
I just returned from another blissful and relaxing stay at Alexander's. Friends first brought me in 2004 - they'd been coming there for over 10 years back then - and I've been back seven times since and made sure to book my 2016 stay before I left this year. Clearly, I love this place! Over the years, Alexander's has become a refuge for me, a familiar, relaxing and indulgent vacation spot where I can focus on soaking up the sunshine, cycling around the island (they now rent bikes at the guesthouse, making it even easier for me to hop on a bike the moment I arrive), enjoying the pool, hot tub, happy hour, delicious breakfast and lush and tropical grounds. It attracts guests who are looking for a low key, high quality guesthouse, and many guests come back year after year. If you go the same time every year, you get to know your fellow guests, which makes it all the more welcoming. I appreciate that there's a warm social vibe where you can connect with other guests but your privacy is also respected. The guesthouse and grounds are well appointed and maintained, with a classic, fresh decor. It's such a lovely setting and close enough to the sights of Key West yet just removed enough to make it feel like the perfect island escape. The overall excellent experience is due in large part to the wonderfully warm, inviting, helpful and on-top-of-it-before-you-even-knew-you-needed-it staff: Laura (the GM), Nina, Michael, Ryan, Jeff, Vagner, and Dominick. They're present, ready to help and anticipate your needs. They exemplify hospitality and customer service that truly focuses on the customer. Finally, a special shout out to Hercules and Junior, the two feline stars at Alexander's - nothing says Key West like cats lazing in the sun!

Yelp
It was a first visit to Key West and my partner and I stayed at Alexanders Guesthouse based on a friends recommendation. We wanted to stay in a quiet neighborhood, close to Duval, in a place well cared for, stylish and with good service. The Guesthouse delivered. Check in was smooth and informative, we found nearby free street parking, and the room had historic, modernized qualities with decor, firm mattress, clean bathroom, and freshly ground gourmet coffee for the coffee maker. The room shared a floor with a few other rooms although guests were courteous, quiet, and friendly. The self serve continental Breakfast was plenty with freshly cut fruit, warm breakfast sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea, and various artisanal breads. Breakfast seating was outside on multiple decks around the pool and garden. The stylish main floor communal area had comfortable seats for relaxing and utility with a few Apple computers and a library. The guesthouse was a 10-15 minute walk to busy areas and in a garden like neighborhood with ferns along the sidewalks and a diversity of tropical plants that were uniquely landscaped for each home. Overall, the guesthouse is a great place to stay for any open minded tourist with a need for style and Key West charm.

Yelp
One of my favorite hotels EVER. And the people that work there are SO very friendly - a shout out to Charlie and David. They were so kind and very patient with our crazy group. We stayed in the Apartment (#17). It is above another room - it has 2 porches, living room, dining room, kitchen and a huge bedroom and bathroom. It was perfect for 5 girls out to celebrate a bachelorette party. Breakfast was always good and everyone that stayed there was super friendly. They always have ice tea, coffee, and water available at all hours of the day. The happy hour from 4:30-5:30 (free!) was a great place to meet some of the other guests. We ended up bringing a guy out with us that was staying there and had a great time. They had H2O products in the bathroom - which is one of my favorite brands...but maybe that is a new addition after some of the other posts here on yelp? And Alexanders is a very short walk to Duval street - where all the action happens. Last, but not least, they have a hot tub, heated pool and then 2 upper-level sundecks that are clothing optional. I would go back in a heartbeat. The people that worked at the hotel and that stayed there were top notch. I would stay there even if the rooms were bad, that is how great everyone is. Thank you for a fantastic time!

Yelp
I recently visited Alexander's and I am very happy to say that the service and staff hasn't changed since my last visit! These are the sweetest, most fun people you will ever get to meet on vacation. The poolside FREE happy hour is still one of my favorite times of the day. They also recently remodled some of the rooms.. gorgeous, AND I LOVE THE CRANBERRY BREAD given durning the FREE Brunch! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Exceptionally welcoming and a nice experience. Breakfast is all laid out from 8:30 to 11am and its nicely situated close enough but far enough from all the activities. Nice and quiet and oh so gay. Really welcoming happy hour where drinks are free from 4:30-5:30 then half price from 5:30-6:30. Bruce the bar man is great to talk to and there is a great atmosphere during the happy hours. Very dangerous though and easy to get hammered before 7 so watch out. We would definately stay here again and can recommend it. I would say if I stayed here again I would not take any of the ground floor rooms as they are too dark and you dont' really want to open your blinds and become a public spectacle. While we had a small deck with 2 chairs I would have used these far more if we had been upstairs with more sun. The bathroom needs an upgrade in my opinion in room 12, its a nice enough room but it is starting to look a tiny bit tired and at $200 a night for a guest house they should invest a bit more in the rooms. Perhaps it was just mine. TV is a comboned 20" TV/DVD combo CRT so old fashioned TV. As we never used it it isn't a huge problem but again an upgrade is on the to do list me thinks. Also the bathroom toiletries were not very good IMHO. Shower gel and conditioner were provided and a bit of soap but presentation wise it didn't look up to standard. It did the job so I am not complaining I would have just expected more from a GLBT guest house at $200 a night.. Breakfast again the first day seemed great but after 3 days you think it would really be nice if they actually provided some meat and cheeses and perhaps some bananas. They had boxed cereals, toasts, hard boiled eggs, and an omlette station. The omlettes were very basic just an omlette with a bit of grated cheese. The home made muffins were sweet and a bit dull. Tasted like they were out of a packet so quite disappointing, my 5 minute recipe is better. So Breakfast was adequate and looked nice but could have been improved a lot quite easily. Pros: Welcome Staff House, Desk and hot tub Bruce and the bar Could do better: Breakfast needs an upgrade with cheese and meats Room 12 needs a bit of updating Its a GLBT guest house! Nicer toiletries please Pool is too small and too warm Recommending $5 a day tip for making my bed is a bit steep Cons: Monday morning 5:30am garbage truck Saying that its more about the experience, the people, the friendliness and the fun. We enjoyed staying here.
