This is a nice restaurant, it's definitely one of the good ones from Kefalonia... but we weren't overly impressed, unfortunately.
I'll go through what we served:
- For starters, I tried the melitzanosalata (which is "salata de vinete" for us Romanians). It was good, but I prefer it with onion instead of garlic... this is how we prepare it in Romania and the taste is very different because of that. This is a subjective preference, of course;
I also tried the Saganaki, which is fried local goat cheese. It was good but very salty and dry, and it was just a thin slice. I know it's a starter, but I found it to be a very small portion for 7€, in my opinion.
My girlfriend tried the Rocket salad, which was good. The lettuce & rocket were fresh, the dried tomatoes were tasty, it's only the dressing that we believe it missed something for more taste. But it was good.
- For the mains, I tried the Mousaka, which is served in a ceramic pot. I'm a very big fan of this dish but unfortunately, the minced meat contained a condiment which I didn't enjoy. The bechamel sauce was very good, but I could barely taste the meat because the condiment overpowered its taste almost entirely. On top of that, the dish was very fatty and the melted fat laid on the ceramic pot floor.
My girlfriend had the grilled sea bass, which came with the fries. The fish was fresh and tasty, but it was too dry... meaning that it was left too much on the grill.
The bill was a reasonable 58€
Last but not least, there are a lot of begging cats around the tables.
I do love cats very much but I don't like being disturbed when eating.
I had high expectations for this restaurant but I left slightly disappointed.
P.S. The Kaiser beer is a good pilsner, if you're looking for a beer with a stronger taste.
