Alexis Nihon

I hadn't been is Place Alexis Nihon is quite a while. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of stores and places to eat. It's quite busy and has a variety of stores. Winners, L'Équipeur, Canadian Tire, and IGA to name but a few.

I really don’t enjoy posting bad reviews as anyone can see on my reviews, certainly I have had bad experiences at restaurants, hotels and other establishments, but unfortunately I feel this time I should do it. I have visited this shopping center for a few years now, and the decline is very noticeable since 2025. I won’t site the details but safety inside the shops and parking lot was very much affected. Sometimes the shopping center feels like a “shelter” more than a shopping mall. Customer service became a disaster and even at the IGA, unpleasant encounters are now the new norm. Hopefully their administration will address this issue at a shopping center that is practically in the city of Westmount.

Unfortunately, this mall feels unsafe and very unpleasant to visit. Every time we go there, we feel uncomfortable and on edge. Individuals exhibiting erratic or aggressive behavior sometimes approach shoppers while cursing or appearing unstable, which seriously impacts the overall sense of security. The restrooms are especially disturbing. Unless it is an absolute emergency, I strongly recommend avoiding them—particularly the ones on the metro level. The smell of urine mixed with cigarette and cannabis smoke is overwhelming. It is honestly better not to look at the floor, as you may see something deeply unsettling. I would not recommend it to families or anyone looking for a safe and pleasant shopping experience.

Its a nice mall. But not as it used to be 10-20 years ago I miss the old ALexis Nihon when it was better. I hope that better security features and more common sense and humbleness comes out of the people and mall. We need Trumpism, Ultraconservatism and Christian nationalism at this mall area and city. One of the biggest shopping centers of Montreal is located near the Atwater station. There are many major Canadian stores here and you can do your daily shopping needs here.

This is a pretty good shopping mall. There aren't a lot of boutiques and restaurants, but you do get the essential. This mall is also quite clean and has a very nice design.

Small shopping mall but you will find what you need. It is directly accessible underground from the metro and they have multiple stations where you can disinfect your hands. The Center offers a limited choice for fashion but has a few boutiques such as reitmans, ardene, Marshalls, winners etc.... there is a decent grocery shop, a pharmacy, Canadian tire and other essential shops..

Good place for lunch. Affordable, good food, great service. Clean. Facilities available to wash your hands. Good security for safety.

My friend is at Alex's Nihon Plaza now she saw this mouse at the escalators going up to the 2nd floor. She told security & was told, "It's OK, someone will get to it" but they didn't call for anyone to come clean it up. The place is really going downhill. And where are all the chairs on the basement (metro) floor? Old people are having a hard time to find seating.

I think this was the first shopping mall in Montreal when it opened. It's changed a lot since then. The two movie theaters are gone, as is Steinberg's, Miracle Mart, and the restaurant next to it. It's been remodeled a few times since. One thing to keep in mind is that prices in shopping malls are higher due to the cost of the rental space. So some things will cost $2.00 or more; and if you're buying your groceries there those extra dollars add up. There's a wide variety of stores there, Canadian Tire, Winners, Pharmaprix, Marshall's, IGA, etc, as well as a large food court. The place is quite busy as the Atwater metro station is right there in the building, and there's also an entrance that leads to Dawson College. There's also easy above and underground access to the nearby bus terminal.

Alexis Nihon is a shopping mall in the western part of downtown. It's not connected to all the other downtown malls via the underground path (RESO), but it is connected to the Atwater Metro Station. It's not that great of a mall, but it's not bad. I mainly go there to go to Winners. Apparently they are opening a Marshalls in the mall in 2018. Winners and Marshalls are my 2 favourite stores, so this is why I give it a 4-star rating, otherwise, it would be more of a 3-star mall. It has your usual retail chains like Aldo, Le Chateau, Reitmans, Dynamite, etc. It has a Pharmaprix (aka Shoppers Drug Mart to all Canadians outside of Quebec, lol), an IGA Supermarket and a Canadian Tire. The food court is upstairs and it's mostly chains like Tiki Ming, Subway, Sukiyaki, Cultures, Kojax, etc. There's a large McDonald's on the main floor too. It's not fancy, no luxury or high-end stores, just a regular mall.

This review may be the shortest one that I'll write this year! After watching a matinee movie at the Cineplex Forum, I walked out of there and visited Alexis Nihon, a shopping centre across the street. It was a Sunday. I only had half an hour to browse. There weren't too many stores that were open. There was a Canadian Tire, but I had no reason to go. I will need to revisit this place when it isn't a Sunday and it is about to close. (29)

It's a hop and skip from the metro. This mall has been around for a while but of course it wasn't as beautiful as it is today with its 2 story parking which is free if you spend 35$. The mall consist of Canadian tire bottom floor. Marshalls is coming in on the first. Winners on the 3rd. There's 2 food courts the big one upstairs with every thing from subway to shish poulet. Downstairs is dagwoods and copperbranch and mr pretzel. They have a huge dollar store downstairs as well. Atwater mall is the meet up spot for all the school kids so it can get pretty loud because there's a McDonald's inside as well.

Good shopping mall. But I feel the parking rate is really over priced. Comparing to other downtown places

It's not my favourite mall. They don't have a big selection of stores and it's not very big. But they have spent a lot of time trying to remodel it. They added a lot of stuff to make it more attractive. The Target used to be here and I loved it, now they are going to make it into a Canadian Tire. I used to go to Dawson so it was really convenient to go to when I had a break. The Pharmaprix was my favourite location because I could get a drink for much cheaper than the dawson vending machines. Also, I could renew my opus card in no time. I also really enjoy the food court. Second Pizza is delicious! it doesn't look like it but it is. Since it's a mall, if you're a student you can get a mall card that gives you discount on most of the stores they have on certain days. Worth getting.

Working in a building connected to the underground city, I will sometimes take the metro during my lunch and come to Alexis Nihon Plaza mall when I need a change from the food that I can get from the downtown core. When I was a lot younger, I used to go to Alexis Nihon a lot more often as I had check-up appointments at the Montreal Children's hospital and the school that I went to was somewhat close to Alexis Nihon. The place is well maintained and has changed a lot over the years. I remember the days of Steinberg and Miracle Mart at this mall and now both of these stores (grocery store and big box store respectively no longer exists). I also remember that this place used to have a movie theatre as well as an arcade back in those days.. The places that I would normally go at Plaza Alexis Nihon today include IGA, Canadian Tire, Winners, Dollarama, and a few of their places to grab a bite to eat (Tim Hortons, McDonalds, etc.)

Nice mall that was renovated in the past years, it is a popular. All next to the station Atwater and Dawson college. A lot of interesting stores offering good deals are there. I don't particularly enjoy eating there because the restaurants there are average. To walk around and window shop it is a good spot, especially during winter. I offrent come with friends and there are a lot of places to sit. Atrium Cineplex cinema is just right next door if you wanna enjoy a movie and they have a great variety of movie there.

When I was a child, my mom used to bring me to Alexis Nihon to see Santa Clause over Christmas. There was also a wishing fountain where I would throw in pennies and ask for a million things all within one wish. Ahh... the good ol' days. But now, it's just a mall. You can shop while sipping on your Starbucks coffee. You can eat. You can hide from the freezing cold, or even the scorching summer heat. You can people watch, or even go check out the animals at the Nature Pet Store (that's what I like to do on each of my visits). You know, that sort of thing.

I stopped here back in April 2012, the shop center here is okay. The stores in here are okay, but I think this place is good for people watching. We walked around didn't see anything we liked to purchase, we did stop inside the the Nature Pet Store and look at the puppies and rabbits. Starbucks and McDonald's are located at the entrance of the shops -- grab a quick bite or drink here and then maybe do some people watching or go look at the animals.

This shopping mall is located at Atwater metro so easy and convenient to get to. You can make groceries, do shopping for sports, beauty and many more items, there is a food court as well so if you get tired of shopping you can stop by to eat. The toilets are all renovated which is a plus but beware there are some bums that hang out there. My favorite store is Winners where they sell reasonable name brand items.

Good food court. The female stores are trendy, the Winners is like a Marshall's/TJ max, weird clothes and patterns. the mini mall is only 2 levels. Zero guy stores. Lovely coffee shop. Expect to use your Visa charge card and a separate exchange rate a few days later.

The worst shopping mall ever bad service you could never get what you want. Ah yeah, there's a post office inside but seriously,never think you'll get you bag completely and on time. Fck this shit!

I visited this place for the first time this week and I think it is a great place to grab a quick bite and to shop. It's also convenient if you are staying in the city for a bit because they have apartments above mall. So all you have to do is go downstairs do all your shopping and never have to go outside.

I used to work across the street so it was super convient for me to go to this mall... it's a one stop-shop on your lunch break. But i wouldn't go out of my way to go to this mall if I'm not in the area.

Good mall except there weren't as many stores as you would expect to find in a mall this big. Was really happy though with the amount of different food places you can find here! They have a huge food court upstairs and a lot of other food places around. Stores are clean, mall is clean but I wish that there was more varieties of stores.
