Alfa Hotel

We spent 5 nights as a couple last November in Edessa and we preferred Hotel Alfa. We saw many reviews on Tripadvisor and other sites, as it was the first time in Edessa and we really wanted to get the best idea about the place we were going. We know the city has the best view, but as the urban people that we are, we want city centers. And this is what happened! Although we had booked a room looking at the back road of the hotel, the reception of the hotel was as kind enough as to offer us a free upgrade to the front central road, right at the city center and the big statue, on the 6th floor!!!! We overlooked everything and the view was spectacular, a great finish of the day, relaxing on the balcony having wine and looking everything from Thessaloniki, to the mountains, great view almost in every direction!. Although the rooms looking to the central road are only a few meters away from traffic, they are soundproof and due to the special climate of Edessa, we had the best sleep ever! The rooms are also newly refurbished with nice orthopedic matrices and comfy pillows. There also 2 areas for the breakfasts, and disability access to the hotel (something that we appreciated, and we think this hotel stands out the most, in the city). Friendly staff and owners, thank you Hotel Alfa, we really look forward to coming back!

Alfa Hotel in Edessa is a nice hotel, convenient situated in the center of the town. We booked in the last moment, but yet we were able to find a junior suite, very suitable for our needs. ||The hotel has new furniture and new appearance in the rooms and bathrooms. There are all needed amenities and all electronic appliances and other interior installation are in a proper condition and functional. ||The breakfast is very basic, at least in accordance with my expectations but, nevertheless, you don’t leave the place hungry. ||I would like to have a special mention to the very good quality of the staff. They are very friendly and ready to offer solutions to your needs even if the needs are not quite necessary connected with what the hotel should or could offer.

We spent three nights here while we stayed in Edessa. We had a newly renovated room on the 6th floor (suite). Elevator spacious. We loved the hospitality. Special thanks to Nontas who was concerned about reserving a parking place in a very busy area to accomodate my special needs child's to and from the car. Thank u to Anna who cared for breakfast and was concerned always about whether we were ok. Also many thanks to Demetris who allowed us to leave as late as wanted in the room on our last day. A lovely small hotel that doesnt say much from the outside but has great rooms and provides service at the very personal level. What counts is the way customers are treated and in this case we were treated like family. Will surely return...

It was difficult to pin down confirmation. Our friend in town walked by several times a week but the manager was always out. It took over a month for confirmation to be sent and they quoted us €45/night. They charged an extra €10 plus tax on top of it. Cleaning was on their own schedule. They arrived in the middle of my shower to take towels and came back almost 2 hours later. I had to drip dry and then use the hair dryer. The shower head holder was broken. The bed was uncomfortable and not set up properly. We had a thin blanket. The extra fleece blanket in the closet stank like musk and b.o. the fridge was broken. There were tiny moths all over.||||The balcony view was lovely and the sun coming in was gorgeous. ||||I’ve had worse but I would have been less salty if they hadn’t charged extra.

Pleasant hotel. The upper floors have rooms looking out over the rooftops across the plain below. The bedroom where we stayed was comfortable and the bathroom adequate, with reasonably good shower, though the sink and toilet water pressure was very weak, so the cistern took some time to refill. As others have said the breakfast is pretty basic. The staff were always helpful. Although the amenities and building quality are both actually pretty sound and the hotel could look impressive, the standard of cleaning let it down, both in the bedrooms and public areas. The whole place would have benefited from a good clean and would then be far better in its appearance.

Kind of small rooms, one of the worst breakfast available I've found at a hotel, I had to buy food from the supermarket to eat breakfast, you can actually hear people talking from the 2nd floor while being at the 5th! And the TV had one of the slowest refresh rates I've seen and I don't even know how they call that a TV (something like a 12' screen or whatever, it was pretty small). Finally the view from the balcony of my room was nice I may say. I could say I was disappointed

This hotel is right in the centre of town and has parking out front. Breakfast was adequate with boiled eggs, bread, cereal etc just the basics. A good place to explore Edessa and the waterfalls.||||Only issue is that there were no street names so we got lost getting there but found it eventually. It is right opposite a statue of man on horseback, near the pedestrian area.

Stayed in new part of hotel. Clean. Modern. Good hot water pressure. Good reading lights. Spacious lift. Well located in centre of town so easy to walk to waterfalls and old part of town. ||||Manager very helpful with lots of information.
