Cozy and quiet place on a foggy Friday evening. Unfortunately we missed the bacalao tapas but had the delicious fish soup (x2 refills 🫢). Great service ! They also sell fish jerky much more reasonably priced than elsewhere in Iceland.

Best fishsoup Ive tried, you can get as much bread as you want and you can get refill for your soup. Very friendly staff. And you can use the internet as well. I would vome back when Im around.

Coffee was delicious (cappuccino). We also had the goulash, which was the perfect warm hearty soup after a morning hike in the rain. Restaurant has a lot of historic photos and information on the walls that was interesting to read. There is also a small area that had local puffin prints, puffin magnets, and other local goods for sale.

Visiting the puffins was the reason we visited this area, but the fish stew and bread at ÁLFACAFE truly made the trek worth it. All homemade food within a great deal of history surrounding the small town.

If you are after an amazing home made fish soup, a very tasty herring & egg open sandwich (home made bread!), a cozy environment or alfresco seat on the terrace facing the bay and friendly fast service, don't hesitate and try out this venue and you won't be disappointed. For sure the other menu items will be great as well....it'sjust that we only tasted the soup and herring. By the way next door to this cafe is a kind of fish shop where you can buy fresh fish by the kilo.....also including cod fillet....of course depending on the catch of the day !

So delightful after an adventure with the Puffin Adventures brothers. Fish soup is unlimited with bread coffee and tea. Also got the blueberry skyr with brownbread and it was so delicious. Outdoor seating, parking, and large indoor tables for a big party.

A nice to go if you're spending the night in Borgafjordur or surroundings! Tasty food (we took fish soup, salmon tarte with homemade bread) in a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Bread and butter, water is for free. Not very pricey for icelandic standards!

Friendly atmosphere, lovely staff. Extremely interesting museum interior. Reasonable and affordable pricing for extremely good food. Fish soup was incredible and their rhubarb and blueberry pies was so good as well.
