Eating here was the highlight of our trip! The environment was cozy and comfy with beautiful handmade art all around! Great souvenir options! Also the soup was life changing! My 3 and 5 year old loved it so much as we all did! Will be dreaming of this experience forever! Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

The fish soup, bread and tea were amazing! So good I had a second helping. The smoked salmon was great too. Definitely recommend eating here!

The reviews do not lie! Came out for the puffins and stayed for the endless bowls of fish soup and bread! The soup is AMAZING, tender with the right amount of vegetables! The employees are super kind and the entire restaurant has a lovely, family-friendly vibe. Check out the attached store! The chef is also an ARTIST and 2025 is the year we all collectively support local artists 💪

Really enjoyed this cafe. We stopped in right as they opened after watching the puffins. We were the first in, and they were still setting up, but they made it a point to greet and help us. The fish soup was the best thing I've had so far since being in Iceland for 4 days. Also the only place I've found that has iced lattes and it was very good! We even got a cute little puffin magnet that one of the owners makes herself. 10/10.

Super cozy and incredible soup. The traditional fish soup was out of this world and the free refills were a dream for a super budget traveler. 2800 ISK includes free unlimited coffee and bread & butter as well. Lots of cute local art as well featuring of course the puffins! This was a lovely stop and wonderful way to stay warm and full on a very cold and rainy day. I imagine there would be very nice views of the sea too… but the weather prevented that 😂

Amazing experience. Great and friendly service, delicious fish soup of which you can get free refills ad infinitum with bread and butter, coffee or tea included… by far the best, cheapest and most authentic meal we had in our trip through Iceland. A big plus is also that you can learn from the place: information about locals adorns the walls and historical tools and trinkets from fishermen and a collection of stones are available for all to see. Only regret is we didn’t get there on a Friday to enjoy the celebrations and local concert. Quaint little town, but it’s definitely Álfacafé that made it memorable for us (that and the puffins!).

Cozy and quiet place on a foggy Friday evening. Unfortunately we missed the bacalao tapas but had the delicious fish soup (x2 refills 🫢). Great service ! They also sell fish jerky much more reasonably priced than elsewhere in Iceland.
