Super friendly service for everyone—locals and travelers alike. The pastel de nata here tastes even better than those from more famous pastry shops. A true hidden gem!

Google
A hidden gem worth visiting (not a tourist trap) several times. Owners husband and wife prepare all pastries homemade, and are so delicious and fresh. Will be back again for sure. Food tour guides visit this place all day long, that’s how good it is. I happened to encounter a beautiful tourist. I wish I had the chance to speak to her.

The owner is super friendly, and everything here is amazing—the food, the dining environment, everything! Honestly, I think the egg tart here is even better than the famous ones in Belém. Absolutely incredible! The coffee was great, and the cheese & spinach savory pastry was delicious too. Huge thanks to the owner for the passion and effort—it truly made my day start off wonderfully!

Google
Delicious homemade pastries and a wonderful experience at this little gem in Alfama. I had the pastel de nata and their own pastel de alfama made with almond and lemons. It's run by a couple and the lady is the loveliest, friendliest soul.

We read about this little place in preparation for our trip to Portugal. My family and I enjoyed the custard pastries and some ice cream. While you have quite the uphill walk to get there it is worth every step! We felt welcomed as tourists and the food was absolutely delicious!

Google
Really lovely experience- the couple who run the shop are efficient and pleasant. Definitely come early (before 10am) to beat the line. Delicious Pastel de Nata, especially with the coffee. Must visit, especially if you’re staying in Alfama!

My wife and I stayed in Alfama for five days just around the corner from here. We had planned to visit several different cafes but after our first visit, our plans quickly changed. We came every morning of our visit, trying something new each time and enjoying the atmosphere. The two gentlemen there every morning were welcoming and friendly, great service, and great prices. The pastries, coffee, and atmosphere were amazing and the pastel de nata may have been the best I tried. If you are visiting the Alfama area, do not miss this place.

Google
Stumbled upon this place when we were in Alfama! It was nice, a very local pastries place. The only con: cash only. Espresso was .80 cent! Would come back (with more cash)

Yelp
Small bakery in the Alfama area with the best pastels de nata we found in Lisbon. The suggested pairing with alcohol, ginjinha, moscatel, or vinho de Porto. We went with the moscatel, excellent choice! Worth seeking this place out! Wish we'd tried some of the other pastries, they all looked great!

Yelp
We had the pasteis de nata here. It was served warm. The custard was too watery and the pastry wasn't flaky enough. The service was friendly. Would not recommend for pasteis de nata

Yelp
The best pastel de nata I tasted in Lisbon! It's off the beaten path, away from the most touristy areas but it's well worth the trek. The service was superb too!

Yelp
Best Pastel de Nata that we have had! Inexpensive, and excellent! Great espresso, bread and pastry. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
This fantastic pastelaria makes pasteis de nata (egg custard tarts), flavored with just a hint of lemon rind to distinguish from other pastelerias nearby. The coffee was rich and strong but not too bitter, and it's easy to say that we will re returning here during our visit. Prices were incredible (and I hope they don't read this part) and could probably be raised without arousing any complaints.

Yelp
I loved Pastelaria Alfama Doce. It's delicious and reasonably priced. I went right when they opened (8:00 a.m.) and there were already customers waiting. I loved that they have a huge selection of savory pastries. The cheese one was my absolute favorite; I also loved the sausage one. For sweets, the Alfama pastry was delicious. I got a few others, and all were good. I also got a decent cappucino. Staff is friendly and everything only cost about €6. If in Alfama, I highly recommend.

Yelp
While the pastries may not the best, the prettiest, or the most refined, they are some of the cheapest and some of the best value you'll find in Lisbon. Using the ubiquitous pastel de nata as a benchmark, most other bakeries will charge at least 90 cents (e.g. A Padaria Portuguesa), and in general will be around 1 euro (e.g. Mantegeira). Pasteis de Belem is 1.10, Confeitaria Nacional (oldest bakery in Lisbon) is 1.15, and Rainha Dona Amélia is 1.25. The best in my opinion is Mantegeira. Here, the pastel de nata and the other tarts are good. But best of all is how local and friendly the staff are. There is limited, rustic, no-frills seating in the side area. This is a great local spot in the lovely Alfama neighborhood, which is an absolute must-see.

Yelp
MY FAVE PASTEIS de NATA aka egg custard tart that I had during my visit to Lisbon were from this shop! This was the last place we got to try as part of our food tour, and oh gosh, definitely a highlight for me. Another mom and pop, or rather mom and daughter's Patisserie shop, and so was glad got to support a local business. The price was also super cheap and I found out from our guide that the Pasteis de Nata had this excellent addition of lemon peel, and that hint of tart with the sweet activated all my palate pleasure centers! I had multiple Pasteis here and regret not taking a dozen to-go! Am so coming back here again when next come back to Lisbon. Highly recommended!! Yelp
My husband and I were regulars here throughout our time in Lisbon. The staff is friendly, the pastries are cheap, and the location was super convenient for us. Our favorites were the croissant with chocolate, a square pastry with ham and cheese, the chocolate salame, and their bread rolls (which were only 25 cents a piece). I'll miss our morning trips to buy inexpensive baked goods (mostly that chocolate croissant) from Pastelaria Alfama Doce. Be sure to stop by if you're walking through Alfama!

Yelp
We found this lovely family owned Pastelaria, in Alfama. The location is very cozy, with limited seating but overflowing with with charm and incredible quality. The food cases are full of delicious variety. Everything. We ate. Was amazing. The coffee was delicious and the service was great.

Yelp
I love this pastry shop. This morning, my fiance and i were overwhelmed with all the sweet and savory options they had for us. The owner was very warm and helpful. He gave us descriptions of all the baked goods and prepared some delicious coffee to enjoy. I enjoyed every bite of everything i had. The coffee was also very good. I will be back tomorrow to stuff as many egg tarts and chorizo breads into my belly and bag.

Yelp
So, this is a perfect case of what it is and what it isn't. Not fancy or trendy. Just great coffee, service and pastries. Will eat here every day. If I lived here I would weigh an extra 40 lbs/kilos.

Yelp
Nice quick breakfast! Felt like a more authentic family/Portuguese bakery than the French/Italian bakery's you will see in the more touristic areas.

Yelp
Sinple little shop that is super affordable. There is a small sitting area to the right of the counter. There is a very nice lady working there who is more than patient explaining what everything is. They mostly have sweet pastries but there were at least 2 savory ham and cheese pastries.

Yelp
This is where I scored breakfast pastries and lunch yumminess. Ordered the croissant with chocolate (you can get custard as well, they fill them on the spot), coconut bun, phyllo pastries with ham and cheese and tomato. While I was eating the latter at the airport, I got many envious glances. Four items = 4,90€. Gluten overload happiness = priceless.

Yelp
This cafe might be the most local ever in the town. I've seen lots of locals to have coffee and breakfast. It gets busy but the service is really good. I tried 4 different pastries at once lol. Everything was so good. If I live in this town, I would come here every single day That's how much I liked this place!!!

Yelp
Not that great for me. Coffee was watery and morning treats subpar. Oh well. Next stop.
google avatar

Jim W.

Yelp
Like waking up in your own home and heading down to the kitchen because you know your mom has been busy making morning pastries all night. A must stop on any journey to Lisbon! We order over a dozen different types/variations of pastries and all were excellent. Prices are extremely reasonable especially for the value and quality of the pastries and service.

Yelp
Yummy pastries. The custard cake there was the best I've tried, still warm from the oven. Delicious. Friendly staff and they speak English and Italian too!
google avatar

Silga L.

Yelp
Great place with tasty pastries, fresh orange juice and friendly staff. They speak English very good!

Yelp
I had my first custard tart at Pastelaria Alfama Doce and in my opinion, it was the best one I had while I was in Lisbon! The shop is very small and located in the heart of Alfama. The staff was very nice and they also offer a pretty decent selection of other baked goods. I definitely recommend stopping by Pastelaria Alfama Doce if you are in the Alfama area!!

Amos Y.

Yelp
Typical pastry shop in Portugal nothing special but the pastry was delicious and good coffee nothing to complain about hard to locate but if you're in the Alfama district it is a good place to have breakfast
google avatar

Luis C.

Yelp
This is a very nice spot to have breakfast. I Love the cheese and ham, chorizo and vegetables pastries. I had breakfast there every single day I was in Alfama. I seated and asked to take away. The only complain is seating. But cmon. Its Alfama. Every place it's small. It's like the signature.
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
Very good food and excellent service! Make sure to try the bread of god (sweet bread with coconut on it!) My family and I loved it!
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
This is a good spot for morning pastries and coffee. Very affordable. But there is not much seating. It's more of a take-away spot. It's also difficult to find (par for the course in Alfama). Try the linguiça pastry if you're looking for something savory.

Yelp
The quick & easy way to enjoy perfectly delicious Pastel de Natas - 0.85 euro / each

Victoria C.

Yelp
I had a cappuccino, a ham/cheese/tomato pastry as well as a pastry bun with coconut over the top. Everything was delicious! The workers there were Also very friendly!! Small and very nice place.

Carolina M.

Yelp
Delicious Pasteis de Belem!! We took them with a Capuccino that was also very good! Excellent service and very kind
