This guesthouse is nice overall, but I won't recommend it because the price doesn't meet the quality. Definitely needs renovation. We stayed two nights in double room. The whole place looks a bit messy, there are cleaning stuff literally EVERYWHERE: kitchen, bathroom open shelves, near rooms. If you think it means everything is super clean - you are wrong. Shared bathroom looked like the cleaning lady likes to procrastinate. Also, mold :( View from our room's window was disappointing, lighting - very poor. Although full impression of the room is nice. In the morning, small breakfast is served. But for the number of people staying, only one cardboard of milk and juice is not enough. There are also cheese, ham, bread, butter and croissants. What we liked about this place: cozy old house IF there were no unnecessary stuff around, kitchen (you can cook stuff), the room, comfortable bed, breakfast.

Well located for harbour, lots of nearby restaurants, plus museums, shops and bus stop for trips around. In a local neighbourhood house (10 rooms I think), owner very relaxed, easy going, friendly, breakfast is simple but you can also make your own in the morning if you need to leave early. Rooms listed as shared bathrooms but 10 does have en-suite (ours) to our surprise, located adjacent to kitchen breakfast (you step out of your room into the seating area), but also have a back door, so is a good choice. Rooms just big enough, tidy, shelf over basin made is hard to wash your face, but otherwise all good. The price was good (for Iceland - nothing is cheap there).

Location was great. Our studio room for tree with our own bathroom was ok. We came late evening there wasn’t any staff present, key was at our door. Breakfast was selfservice, no staff. I have read many good reviews about this guesthouses breakfast but we didnt like it.

Right by the old harbour and less than a 10 minute walk from town. ||You can't really get any better than the alfholl. It's very laid back guest house style might confuse some people (you are buzzed in and you find your own room) but it was perfect for us! ||Breakfast was ready when we came down and the smallish kitchen is fitted out perfectly for cooking if you want to eat in. ||We had a great stay!

Looking like an ordinary three stair city house, it doesn’t stick out. |Small but cozy rooms, shared bathroom and toilet and breakfast served in a small area. |Takes you back 50 years in time to old fashioned British Bed and Breakfast. |Situated on a quiet street. Good parking facilities just outside (payed parking) and close to the city centre. ||Does its job.

We needed a place to stay in Reykjavik at the end of our 10-day tour of Iceland and we found this guesthouse. Actually, it was a little difficult to find if truth be known but it was in a good location. There was plenty of on-street parking and it was only a short walk into the main shops. The room was large, clean and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom. There was a kitchen with access to drink-making facilities but we could not sample breakfast as we had to leave before early.

Nice place. The owner is very kind and helpful. He allowed us to keep our luggage in the house for the whole day even after the checkout. Rooms have a sink so you don't have to go to the bathroom to wash your hands or drink. Breakfast is quite good with bread ham cheese fruit cookies and jam. You have the kitchen at your disposal to cook your meals. The number of bathrooms is adequate. The only problem is that they are cleaned only in the morning so if some guest makes a mess in the afternoon it remains dirty until next morning.

I have grown accustomed to staying in value guesthouses across Europe and have had great experiences and not so great. I am sorry to say, but this guesthouse is at the bottom. I have previously foundIcelandic guesthousesvto be warm and friendly. This one not. Check in occurs by calling at the door and being buzzed in by an absent owner. Breakfast began late and was white bread, jam, cheese and coffee with milk that had curdled served by a despondent millennial. The room was bleak. Waits for The toilet and shower too. I went out for breakfast. Location is good, but that's pretty much everywhere. For The same price you can find a warmer (physically and emotionally) place in this great little city.
