Several months ago, I was bicycling up to New Brunswick, and I stopped here for some quick slices. I was very happy with my pizza, it was delicious. The Workers are really nice and talkative and really helped me out with directions. Pizza is the best in the area here. Authentic restaurant and good prices. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

Delicious pizza with happy Italian vibes. I always visit here on Sundays post swimming lessons with my son for lunch. This place never disappoints. I thought I will do the review this time because this place deserves it. They have lot of options for pizzas by the slice if you don’t want the whole deal. Their pastas are also very very tasty And hearty. Highly recommended if you enjoy good pizza without good wine. By the way the place is also BYOB

I haven't been here in years since going vegan but when I used to go it was hands down the best Pizza in the area and the staff was so friendly :). I'd go back regularly if they had vegan cheese.

Very friendly and good service. Family friendly atmosphere. Food is delicious. My kids love their pasta and meatballs. On my last visit I ordered the small Philly cheesesteak. It was absolutely delicious!! I think it might have been the best cheesesteak I had outside side of Philly area. The small portion is absolutely the right portion if you are not a super big eater.

Cute place, great food. Not only is the so delicious, but their specials are creative and very good. Today was gnocchi with mushrooms while my companion had chicken parmesan. Generous portions, seasoned expertly. I definitely recommend Alfonso's.

Hands down the best pizza in the area, but they also have great Italian dishes that are generously portioned. Although the dining area is small, the service is consistently solid and suits the relaxed casual atmosphere. Aside from the pizza, tortellini al fungi and chicken franchise are family favorites.

Wow! This is the only place I've been where I ask for a take out box before I eat my dinner. The portions are GIGANTIC! I ordered a small Stromboli and it easily fed two people. My hubs got a medium and it could feed 4 people. Crazy big! All dishes are very generous portions. We all took home leftovers. The bread to start is so soft, warm and delicious but don't over do it and save room for your meal! We also got the cold antipasto salad large which was full of salami, ham and cheese. Really good. Could feed 2 people easily-we had leftovers of that too. Mom had sausage penne which was also huge. She has enough for 2 more meals leftover. We love Alfonso's! The servers are wonderful and friendly. Thank you!

Food is absolutely Disgusting. Ordered through grubhub and uh, yeah, they screwed up period they didn't follow the directions on delivery. So the service was exceptionally poor and the manager who wants to stand there and call people liars and thieves, creates quite an ambiance. That's very welcoming, warm, no, not really, and when you're shouting at people in front of your A. Few customers, it doesn't look good. And when you screw a Pizza up and can't admit it. And I call grubhub, and get my money back which you said I could never do I have the money 50$'s back!! That's grubhub best number to call when ...

It seems like Alfonso's Pizzeria & Restaurant on State Road (across from Princeton Airport), may be under different ownership; there were different people working there today and there was a slight difficulty in communication when placing our order. But we left an order anyway for a few subs to go: meatball subs and a half an eggplant sub. The meatball subs use to be great here, and now -- Not So Much. The meatballs looked pink on the inside so more than likely, they were still undercooked. And conversely, the eggplant sub was either overcooked or cooked in old oil. I just hope we don't get sick after eating a portion of the above food items.

Delicious! The veggie pizza is to-die-for. Loaded with veggies on top of a crunchy pizza crust. Staff was nice and place was clean!!

A 30 year, small family owned business, that's a mixture of pizzeria and Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Tonight, I stopped in for the first time and was cheerfully welcomed and felt right at home. The menu had a wonderful assortment of great looking entries. But I decided to try one of the specials, the very flavorful and savory Chicken with portobello mushrooms sun-dried, tomatoes, spinach, and mozzarella in a white wine sauce over penne ($23.95). Service was great with friendly and attentive staff. If you're in the Hillsboro, Princeton area, this is a must try. Dine in or takeout, I think you'll be impressed too. This is one of our go-to places for local pizza, whether we eat in or take out. The veggie pizza is amazing -- so loaded with fresh veg I usually eat my first slice with a fork and knife -- but every pizza we've had here has been delish. We bring out of town family here when they visit and now it's one of their favorites too. And hats off to the servers and kitchen staff, everyone we've talked to or been helped by over nearly 10 years of coming here has been friendly, helpful and welcoming. Really a great place.

Wow this is good pizza. Quick hot pizza by the slice. And it is so good. Tomato, cheese, grease, crust, the perfect combo. Thank you to this most amazing pizza place. I long for this kind of pizza when I am in Virginia where I live. It doesn't exist there. It does here in Jersey. Thank you.

Alfonso's in the Princeton area = delish. Do you see the collection of juicy goodness towards the center?! Between that and the perfectly melted cheese I was slurping up each slice. Yes, slurping. Honestly, IYKYK.

I had a meeting up the road and I needed to find something quick to eat before it. I came across this plaza and decided to try a couple of slices here at Alfonso's. Not sure how long it's been in the area but it had the feel of a place that's been there forever. Everyone knew each other and the staff knew a lot of the customers by name. Extremely welcoming! The woman behind the counter was very friendly and embodies what good customer service looks like. I order a couple of slices and a Diet Coke. Pizza tasted pretty good. Only drawback for me is it was a little thicker than I normally like. Just a preference and I'm sure if I ordered a whole pie they would have no problem making it a little thinner for me. If I'm in the area and have a pizza craving, I would certainly visit Alfonso's again.

We had an excellent experience! The food and service were both top-notch. The garlic knots and bread were freshly baked, buttery, cheesy. The antipasto salad was so tasty. I had the eggplant rollatini with thin sliced ham which added an extra burst of flavor. For dessert, we shared freshly baked, fluffy Zeppolis with chocolate dipping sauce. The cappuccinos were delightful as well. But the best part was our waitress, Stacy! She was very attentive to our needs and so friendly. And when it was a little less busy, the owners came to greet us and welcome us to their establishment. We were very impressed with the decor and layout. We will definitely be returning!!!

Loved, Loved, Loved the food. Place is cute lots of options. Love seeing guy throw pizza up in air and other guy super nice handled our order, for got his name I feel so bad. Visiting colleges near by saw reviews went, and def be back. If my kid goes to college near by we will become regulars. Seriously. So many options and neat pizza topping selections. Sauce yummy crust great loved it. Can't wait to try meals we were watching plates of food come out and others ordering to go, wow.

OUTSTANDING Philly cheese steak sub! Small sub is large and laden with steak, cheese, red & green peppers & onions. It is overstuffed (in the best possible context). Delicious. French fries were piping hot and absolutely perfect. Served in a large soup bowl, I could only eat half, choosing to take the remainder home to reheat for later (rather than leave behind). Can't remember doing that in a long time. Diet Coke was large & served with a fresh lemon wedge (without having to request). Person who took my order, cook & wait person were EXTREMELY pleasant & friendly. Restaurant was clean & seating was plentiful. Bill total was $17.55, which I consider a value for quantity & quality of dining experience. I would recommend this stop when you are hungry & want to comfortably relax over a satisfying meal.

Delicious food and pizza. Wonderful owners. I love their eggplant. Any of the dishes. Husband loves their seafood far diavolo. The best Italian antipasto with loads of select deli.

Its a perfect drank-food Pizza pie. If you love a heavy hand of toppings on your pie this is the place to be. The pizza's are decent nothing out of the ordinary but not bad either, only plus point you get huge quantities of toppings so much so you cant hold a slice up for even a simple pepperoni. It could be an awesome this or quite irritating depending on your preference or mood LOL. All in all a decent family owned joint where you feel welcomed and part of the family which explains the long standing loyalties. If I am in the neighborhood I'll definitely visit, but am i taking a hike just for this place, I think not.

Maybe I'm just unobservant, but I never realized there was a pizzeria in this strip mall. Regardless, Alfonso's was a good find. They have a lovely seating area and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The pizza is good too! The Brooklyn slice has an incredible, chunky, rich sauce. The base is crispy with a fluffy interior. The Margherita had the same great sauce but was a bit soggy/doughy in the middle of the slice. The softness led to some major sag. The plain slice is your good, standard, average slice. Haven't had Alfonso's for awhile (about a year)since I go to the brickoven pizza joint down the street. I liked Alphonso's for their tomato sauce and generous meat to thickness of the dough ratio but this was not the case today. The pizza had almost no sauce in it. The peppers and onions were few and not evenly scattered. What saved this was the meat (wasn't overly salty) and the dough which was thinner but still had a good chew. Not sure if they ran out of medium pizza boxes but my pizza was a but squished up and we all...I didn't find it too appetizing. Will b awhile before I go back.

One of our first post pandemic takeout restaurants. Alfonsos did not disappoint. Ordered two cheesesteaks, one regular, one chicken for pickup. Got two regular. Called Alfonsos and they made it right right away. Also comped garlic knots. The food is great, but the customer service here is something else.

A very tasty mom and pop red sauce joint with excellent pizza and straightforward Italian specialties. I'm a freak for eggplant and I loved their parmigiana of the same. Meatballs are also a litmus test and without offending my grandmother (who though dead, is still spry and will haunt for sport or vengeance)... I'll just say these were pretty good and leave it at that. A visit is definitely worth your time and coin.

Alfonso's is what I call a typical Jersey pizza-joint-Italian restaurant, meaning they are not only a great pizzeria but also a great affordable restaurant for classic Italian- American dishes. Alfonso's has, BY FAR, the BEST vodka sauce I've ever had. Plus, they serve soup/salad, a side of pasta, and warm, homemade bread with your meal. The place is very clean inside, but one of the best parts about Alfonso's is the super friendly wait staff. My friends and I regularly ate at Alfonso's while we were students in Princeton.

The food is good and the place is clean. Some of the workers are a little too friendly but other than that it's a nice place to go.

I previously left a 5 star review, however, today Alfonsos really annoyed me. The menu board says whole sub $14.95, half $8.95. So I order a whole turkey sub and ask for everything on one half and lettuce and tomato only on the other half. The young girl writes it up as two half subs and charges accordingly as two half subs. So essentially I was charged an extra $3.20 for them to NOT put onions, mayo and oil & vinegar on one half. Now maybe she wrote it up that way so as not to confuse the guys making the sub, but that's not my problem. This is not the way to treat a customer, and a good way to lose a customer. As they say, once you get the bad taste in your mouth, it's hard to rinse it out.

Cannot say enough. It's our go-to local family spot. Pizza is amazing and an unlikely star is the burgers!

This pizza shop restaurant is off the charts it's great it's like being in Amalfi coast and their margarita pizza excellent, Yum Yum Yum. Must try best pizza shop restaurant in Central Jersey.

I got food poisoning from this place. I ordered 2 burgers and wings last week from here. It tasted ok but the next morning I had the worst stomach pain. I couldn't even get out of bed. It's been a week and my stomach hasn't been the same. I still can't eat without having a little pain. I would not recommend anyone eating here unless they plan on losing 5 pounds in a day and live in bed the next day. So disgusting. PS. if this is a pizza place and not a burger place please take it off your menu!!! If not, have the courtesy to let your customers know that the burgers have gone bad and you can't sell it.

I am a construction manager and I have a crew working local and needed lunch for them during a safety standdown. After reading some reviews, I decided to try Alfono's out and was not disappointed. I ordered 20 pies and enough drinks for 60 people and scheduled a pickup time of 11:15 AM. I arrived a few minutes late, but everything was ready, all 20 pies were fresh and hot. The whole crew loved the pizza. I want to go back to try their meatball parm since the meatball pizza was to die for. Excellent pizza and excellent service, thank you to the owners and the staff at Alfonso's, we will be back.

I've never been here before. I placed a take out order for two pizzas, one with extra cheese, one with bacon. They did a good job of putting the right amount of extra cheese and bacon on both of the pizzas. That I was happy about. The pizzas were a little bit pricey, basically it cost me $38 for two pizzas, one with extra cheese, one with bacon. I'm not sure exactly when the price of pizza started to go up so much, but I feel like it used to be a better value.

As others mentioned, cute warm seating area if you wish to dine in. I didn't order the Pizza based on others "eh" reviews and it's definitely a pricey large plain pie. The rigatoni vodka was a nice size portion and super good. Grilled veggie salad = no complaints. The medium steak roll was huge. Greasy, but I guess the mozzarella cheese is super greasy is others say the pizza is the same.

Looking for a tasty meal of Italian food with pleasant service & huge portions? Look no further as Alfonso's is your spot. The decor is simple, so it's not exactly fancy dining where you'd bring a first date, but moreso a place to meet up with friends/family for some good Italian food. I went with a group of people, so had a sampling of several items. The complimentary bread (5/5) provided was absolutely delicious. We ordered garlic bread with cheese (4/5), which hit the spot without being overly garlic-y or greasy, although slightly burnt. Chicken parmigiana (4.5/5) tasted great, with the portions very generous...can't remember the last time I got 3 hearty portions of chicken with a chicken parmigiana dish. The fettuccine alfredo (3.5/5) was very light & not overly cheesy which is the way I like it, but it lacked a little in the flavor department. The grilled chicken sandwich on homemade bread (5/5) tasted great and was absolutely massive to the point where you can split it with someone else or you're likely to take half of it home. The cheese pizza (4/5) hit all the right notes as far as flavor of the sauce, crust, & cheese, however it would have been better if the base of the pizza were firmer or crispier (perhaps it should have been ordered well done). The service was friendly and on point. The portions were so massive, that everyone had food to take home. Every food item ordered had a remark of either good or great by people in the party, so I'd recommend Alfonso's to others & will be happy to return from time to time as one of my go-to spots for reliable Italian food & pizza.

We had time to kill during an event at nearby Montgomery High School, and based on the yelps, we decided to try Alfonsos's. Very nice pizzeria restaurant with above average food. Homemade bread our table received was unique looking, but very good! Our table ordered a 7" chicken parm sub, personal pizza with meatball, baked ziti, and baked ziti with eggplant. Everybody enjoy their meal, and service was good too! I only wish we lived closer to frequent more often:)

Happened to be in the area and looking for a bite. Had a couple speciality slices. It was perfect, quick, tasty, and a good price. What more can I say. I'll be back to try more next time I'm in the area

Formidable pizza! Plain slices were nice and cheesy! Our first time there with two other pizzerias in the vicinity that we've visited on the regular. We will make our way there again (for takeout)!

This place was great! We ordered the broccoli and steak rolls and they were so filling and delicious! The staff was also friendly when we ordered over the phone, and then when picking up--as I prepared to get out of the car to go in, the string on my mask suddenly broke but I called the restaurant and they were very nice and came out to help out the food in our trunk since we couldn't go in. Was very happy with our first experience with Alfonso's Pizzeria and Restaurant, and will definitely order again!

This place has the worst bbq pizza I have ever tasted. I could t even finish it i tossed it out. The pepperoni sausage was average. Dont waste your money here

We are from CT and came to town to pick up our brand new car and came to Alfonso for lunch. What a wonderful family place. Very friendly people, we were immediately greeted by the owners and our waitress Martha was exceptional. The food was so yummy, I mean we try pizza, chicken franchise you name. It was all so good. If you want some authentic Italian you need to come here.

We've been eating here for several years and can always rely on reasonable prices, tasty pizza and Italian fare, and happy and attentive staff. Whether take out, or dine in, we rely on Alfonsos on those days when we're not in the mood to cook. My 15 years old says this is the best chicken park in town. 17 year old loves the ravioli. Wife likes the cheesesteak. Personally I like the chicken cheesesteak. And of course any of the pizzas are good. Best advice if ordering the cheesesteaks or any other sub it to order the full size, as it is only $1 or $2 more than the half size, and gives you lunch for the next day! Half is plenty to fill up an adult.
