I was staying in a studio with a well equipped kitchen. There is large fridge and everything to do a reasonable cooking.|The room was split into salon and sleeping area with attached kitchen. The apartment is dated, but everything is functional|and clean. There is wardrobe with hangers, shower, TV, tables and free map of Algeciras. There are several sockets and also multi-splitter,|so no problem with charging devices. The top of the house has a terrace with view to the street.|Internet in the hotel is good and stable, but signal is a bit weak further from the corridor.||The hotel owner speaks English very well, very friendly and can give you a lot of good advises about places to visit in Algeciras and in Cadiz province.7||The hotel is centrally located just in 400 m from Plaza Alta - the very center of Algeciras, very close to the train station 400m,|the bus station 400m and a bit further from the port 900m. The area is safe, with lots of bars and restaurants available.|Beach Rinconcillo is in 2.6km, which has a view to the port and lots of factories. Another beach with a view to the Gibraltar, Getares is in 3.5 km.|There are local buses going there and around the town.|1.4 km is to Mercadona, 1.8 km to Primark. Close town Los Barrios has lots of other supermarkets like Decathlon in 10 km.

I stayed here for one night in late December. The room was large, with a balcony overlooking the street, and a good size bathroom, but with a basic furnishing. The hostess was very welcoming and spoke excellent English, I was very pleased with the service. The location was close to the port and town centre, with a good café underneath, but it seemed like a dangerously area, not the same pleasant vibe that I was in Seville or Cádiz. For €31.50 it was good but not ideal - more expensive than the hotels I booked in Seville or Cádiz.

I arrived at the Hostal to find the door locked and a sign saying no vacancy. Knocking on the door generated no response. Not a good start. I returned half an hour later and my knocking brought someone to the door, and I did indeed have the room I had booked and paid for. The whole building felt grotty and I was pleased that I had only booked for one night. When I returned to Algeciras two weeks later, I made sure I stayed somewhere else. The Hostal is low priced, but for a small increase in price I was able to get a vastly better place. To its credit, it is downtown, ad therefore in walking distance of the port and bus station.

I was very happy with my two nights spent at the Lisboa Hospedaje, on my way to Morocco and on my way back. The hostel is 5 minutes away from the train and bus station, and less than 20 minutes away from the port by foot. Rosa was very kind at my arrival at her hostel, she gave me good recommandation about where to have dinner, thanks again ! Clean rooms, comfortable even if you can hear a lot of what's happening outside.

My favorite place in Andalusia. Very friendly staff, awesome terrace and community kitchen combination, great location near the farmers and fish markets, rather close proximity to the sea. Rooms are nice with air conditioning, there is a washing machine if you need to wash clothes, cafés are 50m away for your breakfast needs... If you come to Algeciras I definitely recommend this place.

The staff is very friendly and helpful! The place is simple but comfortable, very clean, it has a nice terrace with shared kitchen, washer. We stayed only for the night, but it was the perfect place to rest, before following on our road trip. They even added an extra bed for our baby! There is a good restaurant downstairs, to grab late dinner or have a beer! Thanks Jose for hosting us!

Pro: ||* Clean, friendly, simple. They showed me everything, where available for wishes, were flexible.||* The addressed me in my native language.||* Central location, easy access||* Can be booked on their own website, no need for a booking portal||||Neutral: ||* I stayed two nights and they cleaned the room in between. That's not necessary for a hostel and I felt a bit ashamed.||||Contra: ||* They changed towel after just one night. That's everything else than sustainable.||* Although they said that the room is quiet, down on the small street was quite loud especially with mopeds (until deep in the night) and people hauling stuff over the cobblesttones (early morning).||* At checkin there was some chat, but it seemed that the checkin-person was not so interested in what she asked. For example I told before that I was interested in the countryside and also hiking and was in central Spain before, then there was the question which city I liked most so far on my trip, then I said I am not so interested in cities, then she said "oh, you just landed" (which she would know is wrong if she had listened. And well, I am not by airplane anyway, so "landed" is an assumption on it's own).

Lovely little hostel near the port. Easy to get to. The owner is very friendly and helpful. ||My room as small but has a private bath and was spotless with clean sheets and clean towels. Plus good hot water pressure. What more do you want from a hostel?||Very easy to get to from the port in algecerias or Tarifa if you take the free shuttle from the Tarifa port.
