Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel

A fantastic, beautiful hotel on the water and quieter side of Ortigia. The building is gorgeous and the staff is wonderful. If you are driving in, this hotel is the perfect location on the periphery, so it's easier to leave the car with valet and not have to try to navigate the center. You're also a few steps away from everything. The water pressure in the shower was the strongest I've experienced anywhere ever. The air conditioning was strong and wonderful. All around perfection. I will gladly return.

Wonderful authentic Sicilian hotel. Beautifully restored. Beds comfortable and the rooms are cleaned to perfection. Location is excellent as we could walk to syracuse and around Ortigia with ease. Close to the beach and the hotel supplies us with beach towels daily. All staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend for a city break to explore the local area. A big thank you to all the team who clean and serve the guests daily. It cannot be an easy job, but they did it with warmth and professionalism. Thank you.

Charming hotel with very quaint rooms we were on the 3rd floor with a small terrace facing the sea to enjoy at all times. The bar was stocked with water and sodas all complimentary. The breakfast is the best we’ve had in Sicily. Walking distance to all the restaurants the hotel is right in front of the ocean. All up a wonderful stay for 4 days!

If you’re looking for one of the most beautiful and welcoming hotels in Ortigia – stay at Algilà. Yes it has sea views, but they compete with the hotel itself for your attention. The feel is authentic and the opposite of touristy.||Everything has been thoughtfully done, from the excellent breakfast to the decoration. The hotel is made up of multiple buildings connected together, with every corner like its own oasis. They mixed both historic and modern touches.||My suite on the 4th floor even had a Jacuzzi and not one, but two terraces. The bathroom had the prettiest blue and white tile, with walk-in shower and a separate bath. The bed was super comfortable, with lots of plugs nearby.||Since Ortigia is compact, you are near everything and great restaurants, the outdoor market and historic sites within a couple minutes’ walk. This is both a romantic place for couples, but friendly for the solo traveler.

Our family of six had a wonderful stay at Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel and can’t recommend it highly enough! The hotel is perfectly located right across from the sea, in the heart of Ortygia—just steps from the waterfront and walking distance to shops, restaurants, and historic sites.||The rooms are beautifully designed, maintaining vintage Sicilian character with elegant touches, yet fully equipped with modern amenities. Each space felt both authentic and comfortable, creating the perfect balance of old-world charm and contemporary luxury.||The staff was welcoming and professional, and everything about our stay—from the warm hospitality to the lovely breakfast—was handled with care and attention to detail.

Algila Ortigia is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location, on the coast yet less than 10 minutes walk to the centre of Ortigia. The hotel retains all the charm of a period building which has been sensitively updated for guests' every needs. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful at all times. The concierge organised a taxi driver to take us to a performance at the Greek theatre in Syracusa (highly recommended).|The breakfasts were amazing - unrivalled!

Photos do not do this very special hotel justice. We were lucky enough to book the family room and couldn't believe our eyes when we walked in. Two exceptionally spacious rooms with beautiful bathrooms, high ceilings, stocked refrigerators connected through a perfect hallway that allowed both for privacy and the comfort of togetherness for our younger kids. It was fabulous. The location is lovely in perfect Ortigia, which in and of itself is such a gem. The staff offered many great restaurant recommendations and could not have been more accommodating. The breakfast was excellent - you would be hard pressed to find a person who wasn't delighted by the myriad of offerings. The hotel also has a spacious seating area to relax with wine, water, some juice and little bowls of snacks during the day, which made for a nice area to relax with our kids in the hot afternoons. A couple of teeny tiny quibbles: the tvs were so small they were unusable (wouldn't care normally but we were there during the world cup and the ball was a mere pinprick) and had very few stations, the shower floor was so incredibly slippery that my son took a nasty spill (I almost did as well, so it wasn't kid horsing around) and the parking is more expensive than it should be. The air in one of the rooms ran very cold and refused to adjust, but in a 105 degree heatwave, that was certainly preferable to the alternative. One final quibble - they use some sort of a pod machine for the coffee, which in addition to being environmentally questionable when used on a large scale, it also makes pretty low grade coffee. We'd come to enjoy our morning freshly ground lattes elsewhere, so again, though a minor quibble, I think they should switch to a standard machine to step it up just a notch. We would enthusiastically recommend this hotel to all. It's a real find.

This is a small boutique hotel with a water view and an extremely diligent and helpful staff. The room was immaculate and well designed. The hotel has their own bar and restaurant. The breakfast is beautiful and has a bountiful buffet with a menu as well that has items cooked to order. They leave wine, water and snacks for free every day near the bar for guests. The location is central in Ortigia, so you can walk and explore as you will. We very much felt the pride of care for their guests while staying there. There is a busy little parking area right in front which gives you some people watching opportunities. Our room had a tiny balcony to view the water and people show. Well priced for the amenities and breakfast. if you need laundry done a little place called Wash and Dry Siracusa will wash, dry and fold for 8 euro! Hop on and Hop off for only 5 euro is a great way to get around see the sights in Siracusa. The outdoor morning market is fantastic. Do not trust your GPS to get you there though. Go over the bridge and make the second left and then a right onto Via Victorio Vanetto..
