What a lovely place, a hidden gem! We got here after visiting Ephesus and before going to the museum. Authentic turkish food in a familly run business. The prices are low and fair, the quality and taste is great! Good service and a place you shouldn’t miss if you are in the area and want to eat really good food! The Çay is free, if you choose to drink some. Thank you very much and I hope I’ll have the chance to come by another time!

We were delighted by the authentic Turkish cuisine served here! The Mixed Appetizer Platter stood out as our personal favorite, perfectly complemented by the refreshing yogurt and aromatic Turkish tea. The prices were incredibly reasonable, offering excellent value without the inflated "touristy" feel. Highly recommended for a genuine taste of Turkey!

Perfectly located beside the museum. Prices are much cheaper, but the taste is definitely much higher. Loved the eggplant/meatballs dish. The servings are good as well, with salad, fries, and Asians favorite rice!

Authentic family restaurant. Delicious home-made food. Reasonable prices. Kind and friendly owners. The menu in many languages. Turkish pancakes worth to try!

The food was incredibly delicious, with generous portions that left us satisfied. The service was excellent, and they even treated us with a complimentary apple tea, which was exceptional. Be sure to try the Sarma—it's a must!

Google
Delicious, fresh cooked food for you from a family run restaurant. Good prices and nice to sit outside. It’s right next to the Ephesus archaeological museum so we ate here after and it was perfect

Yelp
Very good dürüm, exactly what we were looking for. The location is off the main route but quite easy to find. The owner and hospitality is wonderful and after your meal you can peruse his carpets - a wealth of knowledge if you want to learn about carpets - no pressure to buy. We just looked and learned.

Yelp
This place can be summarized by delicious kebabs at a fantastic price! This place is tucked away off a side street a little ways from the city center, so you might miss it, but be sure to go and find it if you want kebabs! Being out of the way is a big plus because it is a much quieter and peaceful place to eat a meal (they also have outdoor seating) than the other kebab places closer to the city center. Even though it is a little off the beaten path, it is only a couple minutes' walk from the center and is on the way to the Temple of Artemis, so it is a great place to stop and eat lunch. Their kebabs are served as a whole meal, with rice, vegetables, fries, and bread, so you definitely don't leave hungry!

Yelp
Perfect place to eat!! Food is great and amazing hospitality!!! They have wifi and help you if you need anything :) We came 2 nights in a row. First time had the kebab, second night gozleme. Both were very good!

Yelp
I recently went to Turkey this winter with my friends. We all had a great experience. + service was very friendly. Mehmet definitely makes you feel at home. He owns the place with his brother, Alibaba + Turkish coffee was one of the best I've had so far in the country + honey & chocolate pancakes are light and make a good dessert. The pancakes are crepe-like + spinach & cheese pancake was also very light. in the crepe-like pancake is raw spinach with a light cheese. it's very simple. i ate it as an entree, but it could easily be an appetizer / snack as well. + yummy fresh orange juice + my friends got the lamb kebab and durum. The lamb was nicely cooked and tender + reasonable prices + open 365 days Totally recommend this place.

Yelp
The BEST kebab place in all of Turkey! My boyfriend and I visited Istanbul, Bodrum, and Pamukkale before heading over to Ephesus! Therefore we ate at a bunch of kebab restaurants and this one was by far our favorite! You also are offered a free tea and we tried the Apple Tea, which was rich and delicious! I ordered the Grilled Chicken Kebab and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The chicken was juicy and tender and tasted even better with the rice and side salad! I also tried some of my boyfriend's meatballs and they were grilled beautifully! Not only is Mehmet and Ali Baba's delicious, the service is impeccable! I've never met such friendly people, they literally treat you as if you are family! Mehmet knew so much about Ephesus, such as where to park and what to see! He even offered to take us to the ruins via his own car! How sweet! I highly recommend that everyone dine at Mehmet and Ali Baba's to get a wonderful experience and sense of Turkish culture! Would love to come visit again soon!

Yelp
Mehmet and Ali Baba's kebabs were delicious, authentic and incredibly affordable. The kofte and adana kebabs made by Ali Baba and his wife were perfectly seasoned and succulent. They also had a large variety of locally favored beverages--a clear Sambuca-like spirit, local beers and salty yogurt drinks. Although my boyfriend and I ate from the menu, there was a French family next to us who wanted very specific items. Mehmet and Ali Baba patiently went through the menu, explaining what each item was in English and after around ten minutes of pointing at pictures, gesticulating, and the use of over-enunciated French, were happy to create plates which were combinations of other menu options. Although they have an indoor dining room, we loved their large outdoor seating area adorned with gorgeous carpets from all over Turkey. Ali Baba and Mehmet are brothers who came from a northern region of Turkey. For generations, their family was carpet weavers with their own signature style. Decades ago, Ali Baba would travel around Turkey by bus with a dozen or so of his family's carpets, selling them to local shops. Eventually, his expertise and original product led to the opening of a carpet store in Selcuk, and after another 20 or so years, he and Mehmet opened the kebab house.

Yelp
I ordered the mixed grill, the portion is big and taste quite good! The waitress is a nice American lady. Wish I have chance to try other food here in the future!

Yelp
What a great little kebab house. Firstly, the food is delicious. The kofte durum is fresh, hot and incredibly satisfying. Add to that the friendly, welcoming charm of Mehmet and you've got a hit. If you're having lunch in Selcuk, this is the place to go.

Yelp
I don't know why this place is overrated, we had the usual kebabs. The salad was dry, dead and disgusting, the fries were refried and dripping with oil, overall a horrible experience.

Eric G.

Yelp
Either we ordered the wrong items, the kitchen was having a bad day, or I'm more critical than TripAdvisor's reviewers. Two of us shared an appetizer and the kebab plate, and both items were underwhelming.

Yelp
Not the freshest vegetables here, or the freshest ambience. Very friendly people. The kofte was tasty, if a bit straight ahead. There must be better spots in Selcuk, but we only stayed in town for a night. So this was the place we sampled.

Yelp
Unbelievable! One of the best meals that we have had in our two weeks in Turkey. It was so good that we had to come back a second time. The spicy minced meat kabobs are wonderful. Comes with a delicious salad, tons of bread, rice and fries.

Yelp
Very nice Turkish restaurant! Friendly people, typical setting in quiet street, nice to eat outside, loved the Gozleme with spinach and cheese, baklava is hmmm delicious, our kids loved it too! Place to go in Selçuk... Eat here when you visit Efese!
