One of the best Lebanese restaurants I’ve ever been to — not just in Malta, but anywhere. The food is genuinely authentic, full of flavour, and immediately brought back childhood memories of proper Lebanese home cooking. Every dish was fresh, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with care. What really sets this place apart is the hospitality. The host was incredibly warm, welcoming, and made us feel like guests rather than customers — something that’s becoming rare these days. This is not a tourist spot or a watered-down version of Lebanese food. It’s the real thing. Highly recommended and absolutely worth going out of your way for.

Very lovely spot and great halal food, all the dishes we tried there were delicious. We tried shish tawooq, arayees, humus, labna and zaatar, naqaneq with pomegranate sauce and other tasty plates. The staff is super friendly and polite but reservation is required.

One of the best culinary experiences I’ve ever had! We came here for my partners birthday and it did not disappoint. The salads were fresh, all of the meats were delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful with deciding what to choose. A must go to if in Sliema.

Amazing experience at Ali Baba. The food was excellent,the lamb tenderloins were divine, tender and full of flavour. Warm and comfortable atmosphere, smooth service, and a charming manager with a great team, Feels close to Michelin level in both food and service.

Was so happy with the food and service,I actually couldn’t stop myself from coming here to say it. Recommendation and explanations were done very professionally, and the wine pairing suggestion with the food and dessert was honestly perfect. Everything was cooked well and tasted amazing, and the team were respectful. It made me a bit sad to see some negative reviews here, because my experience was genuinely good and nothing like that. I left feeling appreciated and satisfied, and I’ll definitely be coming back again.

I recently had dinner at Alibaba Restaurant in Gzira — my second visit, and once again, I was delighted by the delicious Lebanese-style food, adapted perfectly to modern tastes. We began with a selection of dips, served with warm pitta bread on the side. Then came the lamb meat pie — simply amazing. For the main course, we enjoyed perfectly cooked lamb tenderloin and chicken breast, both prepared in true Lebanese style. On the side, we had herb-seasoned potato wedges that complemented the dishes beautifully. To finish, we couldn’t resist our favourite dessert at Alibaba: Muhalebija — a sweet, creamy treat that never disappoints. Throughout the evening, we sipped on chilled Chardonnay and sparkling water. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who served us with a smile. The owner, the humble and welcoming Hany Harb, was especially helpful in recommending the perfect dishes for our meal. I highly recommend Alibaba Restaurant and will definitely be returning. Be sure to book a table in advance so you won’t be disappointed!
