The best Turkish restaurant in town, the salad is delicious, all the meat dishes are authentic and very fresh. Best shepherds salad I have ever had by far. The chef Suleyman Yilmaz is very friendly and extremely good at what he is doing.

Google
Absolutely amazing experience at Ali Baba Restaurant in Puerto Rico! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming — Fernando, and Luis who were so friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. We also met the owner, who was just as warm and hospitable. The food was exceptional. The bread was soft and fresh, the chicken sandwich was juicy and flavorful, and the Iskender was rich and delicious. But the real standout for me was the manti — absolutely incredible! The imam bayıldı was also packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. If you’re in San Juan and looking for authentic Turkish cuisine with genuine hospitality, this place is a must. Highly recommend!

Google
Awesome find in San Juan that we just randomly found. The service was insanely fast - my water glass was never empty. It ended up being a great find. We had the hummus appetizer and shared the curry chicken dish and cheese flatbread. It was just enough food for two and we left feeling full and very satisfied (there were no crumbs left behind)

Google
Excellent food and service! Waiting time was great also. Loved the hummus with lavash bread wich is homemade & the adana garlic yogurt main dish that comes with a extraordinary pilaf rice, baked potatoes and salad. At the end we got kunefe for dessert. Just WOW! Better than turkiye

Google
Extremely mediocre Turkish food. The falafel tasted frozen and really firm. The chicken Shawarma was dry and full of tahini sauce to conceal the fact it was not marinated properly (and dry). The Lamuacen was bland. One thing I need to comment on is how extremely overpriced everything was on the menu. I’m sorry, entrées starting around $30 and $40. What are you thinking? It’s just chicken and rice and some salad. This is not fine dining by any means. Overall, the experience was not good even though I sampled three things from the menu I didn’t like anything. The freshly baked bread that came with my falafel was great, but that’s about it.

Google
The food was delicious, with acceptable portions. I highly enjoyed the food. The price seems to be little bit above usual but still acceptable. I would recommend to visit and eat

Google
The ambiance was phenomenal. I was there for quite a while visiting with a friend I hadn’t seen in decades. Needless to say, I was not rushed to leave! I also was treated to Turkish tea 🫖 of ginger with something else. I was in peace. Decor was impeccable. I thank you all for your graciousness. Chef, server and even I believe owner’s baby were delightful! Thank you, all!!! 🫶🏻

Google
Service was excellent, the quickest food service in the area. Food was outstanding. We had the hummus, chicken skewers and a curry chicken dish. I highly recommend this place for a healthy delicious meal. I can’t wait to eat my leftovers.

Yelp
Found this little restaurant as we walked along Ashford St, and figured we'd give it a try. They had a pretty nice Mediterranean menu at reasonable prices. We opted for the hummus appetizer, which came with the biggest, most delicious homemade naan bread I've had anywhere! We also opted to split a Greek salad, and some chicken shish-kebobs. Everything was great tasting!

Yelp
Good was great! Service was only adequate. I would have given a higher rating had the staff been more attentive.

Yelp
Such huge portions. After landing in Puerto Rico a friend recommended this restaurant. Tucked a bit off the street go and find it! They have indoor and outdoor seating. A cool vibe and big portions of good food. I split a mixed platter with a friend and it was very filling. Samples of chicken, beef and lamb.

Yelp
My all time FAV Turkish restaurant in Puerto Rico! Always consistent. The quality of food is incredible. Authentic. The dishes you shouldn't miss: hummus. Tzatziki, Greek salad, sigara, Lamb chops or kebab, mix ottoman casserole all AMAZING! Also don't forget the baklava. Friendly staff. Quick service. They have inside and outside sitting. They also have parking.

Yelp
Found this place c/o yelp and it did not disappoint! Best falafels we've ever had, fantastic chicken kabob & baba ganoush. Service was friendly & efficient. We'll definitely be back!

Hank L.

Yelp
food was superior for its type and especially enjoyed receiving, freshly baked and hot loaf of lavash service was flawless and I have an allergy to garlic, and they made the chicken kebab from scratch with no garlic for me which I immensely appreciated. The restaurant is hidden away very rustic and after you have been there, you don't care highly recommend this establishment. The owner came by and asked us if we were enjoying our meal and I told him it was super good.

Yelp
We chose all vegetarian options, including the falafel, which was very good. Not the best falafel ever, compared to falafel in Israel, but very good. And the appetizers included the feta tomato & parsley salad, and the eggplant stew. They both were good, but the eggplant stew was outstanding. Served with the Turkish bread, which is tasty, puffed, sprinkled with sesame seeds and beautiful. A great place if you want tasty food and also to eat within a Mediterranean diet.

Yelp
Very delicious, well prepared food. Small portions. Expensive. I've eaten here several times over the last two years and the food is always delicious. BUT, don't come here if you're excessively hungry. The portions are somewhat small. The $10 hummus is basically served on a coffee cup saucer sized plate. If you both want some, get two. I often get the Greek salad. It's delicious. But even the large size is more of a lunch sized portion. The salad itself is $15 and to add grilled chicken it's another $12. As you can see from the pic it's not even a full chicken breast. That equates to about $1 per bite of chicken. My little hummus and salad plus an iced tea ran me $50. Kinda pricey. But the taste is definitely there. The hummus is smooth and creamy, full of flavor. The pita bread they give you with it is quite good. I've had the kabob wraps as well. They're delicious but also small. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a delicious LIGHT lunch. If you're super hungry though I'd recommend Tayzan across the street. Their Chinese and sushi is amazing and you won't leave feeling hungry at all.

Yelp
We've been wandering past this place all week, but it was too busy to get in (a good sign). Tonight was our lucky night. We were seated right away, and after receiving our appetizer, we realized why it had been so popular all week. The hummus and lavash were excellent. The entrees (lamb kabobs and chicken curry) also did not disappoint. Stop by for great service, a quaint spot, and excellent food!

Bill S.

Yelp
Great vibe and the food was excellent. Try the spring rolls. Stir fry also filling and delicious!

Ali U.

Yelp
This was one of the best Turkish foods tried abroad. The iskender was amazing. It is clear that they prepare it in house (not frozen gyro). Lahmacun was also very authentic. They had a wide variety of cocktails. This is the best Turkish option you can find in Puerto Rico. Service was great. Had nice ambiance as well.

Yelp
I finally got to try Ali Baba. The restaurant is located at 1214 Ashford Avenue, steps from the nearby Marriott hotel. They offer inside and outside seating. Servers are friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. The menu has a lot of things you don't find often in a restaurant in Puerto Rico. The hummus is great, especially with their Lavash. Don't be surprised if you crave more Lavash, but be careful because it will be freshly baked and very hot. I highly recommend the Lamacun (Turkish Pizza) and the Backlava for dessert. Will return.

Yelp
Best hummus in my life. Friendly staff and delicious food. Mediterranean salad with lamb was scrumptious. Cocktails are refreshing. This is a must stop on my trips to PR.
google avatar

Mustafa S.

Yelp
We visited twice and particularly enjoyed the Ottoman casserole, iskender, doner plate, mixed grill, grilled cheese, and the puffy bread. The meat is halal and incredibly delicious, which adds to the authenticity of the experience. We look forward to returning for more of these delicious offerings!
google avatar

David Y.

Yelp
Probably 1 of the better Mediterranean/Turkish restaurants in the area. I recommend getting the mix grill, it has a pretty decent spread of different types of grilled meats + sauces. This isn't as good as most places in big cities but it does the job in terms of satisfying your craving. This place is always pretty solid in my experience.

Yelp
Incredible food, great service. Stopped here after a long flight from San Francisco and I think this was the best Turkish food I've ever had. Had the Greek salad, baba ganoush, red lentil soup, chicken wrap, and kunefe.

Bushra R.

Yelp
Food did not taste good and had a smell and after taste that's not typical of Turkish food. . Service was rushed . We asked for yogurt multiple times from multiple servers and never received it. Ambience was acceptable but cramped . Overall , don't go. Hope they change the food quality soon.

Vipin R.

Yelp
Very bad service and very small potions. Waitress knew we had a bad experience and automatically added 20% tip. Avoid this place if you want good service.

bonita n.

Yelp
The food was exquisite, the service was less than perfect. The flavors were subtle and excellent. Hubby's dolma and bread were particularly good. He also had tasty tabouli. I enjoyed my lamb chops with delectable rice and lovely sides.

Jacob R.

Yelp
Love this place. Very friendly staff, and great healthy food! Plenty of indoor air conditioned tables as well as outdoor seating. I find myself there multiple times every time I visit Condado.

Yelp
Great small Airbnb with restraint downstairs. Wonderful family that runs it and makes a great base on Jost Van Dyke.

Yelp
Wow. Finding this Turkish gem on the island was a surprise for sure. The kebab plates are delicious and the potato salad side is the best. Cucumber martinis pair well with dinner. The service is really good and they really guide you well through the menu. A great spot for a cuisine that you don't know you need!

Yelp
Food 5/5: The meat and portion size is on point. Everything about this dish makes me feel like the food I had in Turkey. Authentic!! Service and Ambiance is great as well

Mimi S.

Yelp
Incredible! The drinks were amazing! Real fruit crushed into the drinks. The hummus was some of the best we have ever had, and we have had A LOT of authentic hummus in our lives. The homemade lavash bread came hot and puffy. It was perfectly seasoned. The salad was authentic and the mixed grill was perfectly cooked. Please go here if you love Turkish food!

Yelp
Parking isn't the easiest around here. Had to go around town a few times. Ended up parking on Avenida Magdalena. It's located off of Avenida Ashford. Ali Baba First off, it's right next to Starbucks on Avenida Ashford. We are seated in the breezeway outside of the small restaurant. There are 5 tables outside. The interior dining area has about 8 tables inside. Ordered a hummus, baba ghanouj, Turkey bread, a large Greek salad with added chicken and two small red lentil soups, Turkey coffee, Lamacum pizza and spinach feta pide. A Fattoush would be so good right about now, but it's going to be a Greek salad. $51.36. Waiter came back and told us they are finished with the soup. I thought he meant the soup was already ready, but he meant they are out of it. The hummus and baba ghanouj both taste decent, but the portions here are super small. The Turkish bread isn't enough to eat with one of the dips, let alone a second one at all. The large Greek salad is okay, quite salty. Three small chunks of feta in the whole salad. $7 add-on of chicken is about a half of a breast of chicken, not much. The feta spinach pide is good, it reminds me of a stuffed pizza crust. The Turkish coffee was good and strong, 1/4 of it was all grounds. Food was decent, service was also okay. Bill took quite a while to come out to us.

Andru R.

Yelp
Service was great not very busy when I was there. Outside seating is a little noisy but the inside was very quiet and a nice ambiance. The appetizer was very good it came with one piece of flat bread cooked very well. It seat about 27 people inside and outside. The gyro was pretty good not your typical gyro. No cucumber sauce but had a pickle sauce in it I was not a big fan.

Yelp
Delicious food with many vegan/vegetarian options. The grilled haloumi was delicious, as was my vegetarian casserole. Would have liked it a bit less oily, but it was still yummy.

Yelp
The entrees were delicioso! The hummus appetizer and bread were yummy. Good service and nice ambiance. Little on the dim side, which is romantic

Yelp
This place has potential but unfortunately falls short. We WANTED to love this place SO BAD. Please keep that in mind while you read this review.... Let me start out by saying that this food is very good. I live in NJ/NY and have had my share of Turkish food. The food is probably a 4/5, but everything else is like a 2/3. Here's my free advice from a marketing professional: 1. Larger portion sizes. A falafel entree should have more than 4 falafel. Typically I've gotten 6 with a meal which is usually perfect. The sides were also barely a spoonful. Even the baba ganoush was spread thin on the plate to look like it was more than it was. 2. Advertise better. Their location is hidden so there's definitely the need to stand out. Positioning yourself as a vegan/vegetarian option is definitely a smart idea. However try a special or daily deal (e.g. $30 for a two course meal) This would ensure you're getting at least $30 per person for each check. 3. Be a little more lively and have better recommendations. I asked for any house favorites and the server hesitated. Also Kunefe is the best dessert ever. When we asked about it, Ali Baba didn't have it available. (Major bummer!) Instead we went somewhere else for dessert. Overall the food is good. However sometimes you need a little more (especially when it comes to service) to get customers!

Yelp
What a freaking downer. This used to be tops... now, items with no flavor, burnt meat... etc... We were served out drinks 4 minutes after we had finished our meals... What..? We ate fast and ran out. They seem to be counting their penny's..! Won't be around again... Too bad.

Carson B.

Yelp
Definitely recommend delicious food and the service was amazing. make sure to try adana kebabs.

Yelp
Wow!!! We are restaurant hopping and stopped for a snack here ..... the hummus with homemade lavosh is the best thing I have tasted in years!!!! No other words needed.

M M.

Yelp
They have mosquito problem in the outdoor seating area! I sat there for 10 minutes and got bitten 3 times on my feet while I having sleeves and long pants! Such a shame that you don't care to take care of this!
google avatar

Fiona B.

Yelp
This restaurant will not disappoint. The staff is amazing, the service is great, and the food is phenomenal. If I'm ever in San Juan again we will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Tucked into the back of a well worn main strip in Condado, Ali Baba is a hidden treasure. The server was extremely kind, helpful, and wasted no time bringing our food out. He must have seen the hunger in our eyes after a long day at the beach. We ordered the hummus, imam biyaldi, roasted peppers (without feta), and falafel. We soaked it up with fresh lavash which was perfectly puffed and crispy. Everything was delicious - the food was definitely prepared with love. The falafel were juicy, the roasted peppers had a great tang to them, and the eggplant dip was super fresh with strong umami flavor. The hummus was a little runny for my taste but still yummy. We will definitely stop by again - you should too!

Yelp
By far the best food and service we had on the island. Our server was fantastic giving us suggestions and recommendations. Most kids had the nuggets and fries and the Greek salad which were described as excellent one had the pizza which was good. The adults had hummus, feta special and baba ganoush. Mains were falafel, chicken shush kabobs, and adna kabob - no complaints from the group and no plate had food at the end :) All was delicious EXCEPT for all appetizers ordered only one lavish was included and each additional was $4 each. Felt like highway robbery. Minus the lavish additional charge the group agreed they'd return happily.
google avatar

Reshma K.

Yelp
Went here without any reservations and there was a outdoor seating available for two. Service was quick and friendly. We decided to get all apps - hummus came with warm lavash which we devoured in a jiffy. The dolmas were delicious and it came with yogurt sauce. The falafel was freshly made it was amazing. We also order babaganoush which came with another serving of lavash bread. The bread was fluffy and melt-in-your-mouth good with the dips. I ordered the Turkish tea which was perfect. Loved everything here, pictures probably do not do justice
google avatar

Laura F.

Yelp
The mixed grill is sooo good my husband had the lamb wrap with potatoe wedges so delicious

Karen B.

Yelp
Amazing fresh food and great service. Perfect place for just a quick app or a full dinner with friends
google avatar

Rebia B.

Yelp
We learned on this trip that Puerto Rican food doesn't have a ton of flavor so we were happy to find a Turkish restaurant that made up for it. We started with the fresh hummus. The bread was very dry and thin and had clearly been sitting out but after letting the waitress know, they brought out a fresh pita. Also ordered the salad and chicken shish kebab which was packed with flavor. The rice was delicious! Only downside was price. The hummus was almost $10 and chicken shish was $22. I think it should have been 7 for the quantity of hummus and $18 for the shish. Places to Eat if you enjoy flavor: Tayzan (chinese) Serafina (Italian) Ali Baba (Turkish) Bebo's Cafe (diner type) Finca Cialitos (coffee) Anita's (ice cream) Pinky's (breakfast)

Lani B.

Yelp
you HAVE to eat here! After a full week of Puerto Rican cuisine and not much else, it was my partner's time to choose dinner. He found this place and I'm so glad he did. We got the free lavash bread with tzatziki for the appetizer & the mix grill which comes with lamb, beef, chicken shish kebab, Adana kebab, kofte, & lamb chops. The highlight for me was the lamb chops and beef which were very tender and cooked perfectly. I'm half Egyptian and Turkish food is very similar, so I was really skeptical of the kofte (kofta) but it was delicious. But the thing that really got to me was the rice which tasted like my grandmother's. My partner loved everything on the plate, and was even asking to eat my sides of potato salad & cabbage & carrots! Great place, and if I'm ever back in PR I'm stopping here! Only con was that this was our last night in PR and if we had found this place earlier we would definitely have gone there again :(
google avatar

Lanre M.

Yelp
The food here was superb. My visit to Puerto Rico was one to remember and the food here made it even much better. I ordered the Adana as you can see in the photo posted. Everything on the plate tasted great and the complimentary bread was unique I forgot to take a picture of it but trust me you've gotta see this thing. Highly recommend if you stop by San Juan.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
While authentic Puerto Rican food was our goal for our recent vacation over Thanksgiving, finding a Mediterranean place was awesome. We were walking and decided to eat here and actually went back 2 nights later for a to go order. Food was delicious, service was good. Location is easy to get to.
google avatar

Dania S.

Yelp
The food here was great. We reached the restaurant in time to be seated but we were told that the kitchen is closing so they wouldn't seat us but we were able to place an order for takeout. I will say, the food was outstanding till the last bite. We didn't leave a single piece of meat. They can work on their pita bread for sure since it's very thin and tastes like it's store bought. But if you're looking to indulge in some amazing meats after being tired of having seafood everyday in Puerto Rico, this is the place for you.
google avatar

Kisbel F.

Yelp
Hands down the best meal I had on vacation in PR. We started with an order of hummus which came with fresh, hot out the oven lavash bread (home-made bread with sesame seeds). So good we ordered another bread with the food which cost $3! For lunch I had the Falafel plate and my bf had the Falafel sandwich which came with wedge fries. To drink we ordered the mint lemonade which was so refreshing!! Don't forget to ask for the schug for a little spice! We finished our delicious meal off with a piece of baklava. I was beyond satisfied and happy with our meal and experience here. Will most definitely return and tell everyone about it!
google avatar

Bingy H.

Yelp
I had the best lamb kebab in this restaurant! I asked for medium rare and it was served with just right tenderness! The pickle side dish is crispy and sour enough. Also, the rice is well prepared. Each grain is fluffy and separated with each other while the butter/grease aroma emits within. We also ordered balaclava, crispy and delicious with just the right amount of honey. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Chip S.

Yelp
Authentic turkish food. Had the Mix Grill for 2 + baklava for dessert My partners grandmother made home made baklava and he said this tasted the same. The mix grill was lamb, sausage and chicken with all the sides. All the sides were delicious! I favored the lamb while my partner favored the sausage. We had it all cooked medium. We neither liked the chicken but for the amount of food it was delicious. I recommend asking for kore lamb or sausage subtract the chicken. And definitely get the baklava. I had mine with ice cream. Amazing service too!

Mark H.

Yelp
Wonderful Turkish atmosphere and decor, with very friendly and courteous staff. Food was fabulous, having lived in Ankara Türkiye for eight years in the past. Our two appetizers 1) Hummus and 2) roasted red peppers were outstanding! Our köfte and tavuk (chicken) casseroles were out of this world!! Highly recommended, and we WILL be back! Çök teşekular!!

Casey H.

Yelp
Lamb doner wrap was dry and fatty with a gamey taste. Odd for what should be a popular item.
