Alibi Hostel Leeuwarden

A PLEASANT STAY! I normally don't stay in hostels anymore but I decided to give it a try after seeing all the positive reviews. Alibi Hostel did not disappoint! Wonderful Ellan, who spoke perfect English to me, gave me all the details I needed during check in and I was fortunate my room was ready early. Everything is in reasonable walking distance including the train station. The bed and pillow was comfortable and EVERYTHING was spotless, which hasn't always been the case at hostels I've stayed in. The bathroom and showers are separated. With 4 shower stalls there's a good chance you don't need to wait on someone. I found it to be a very good value for the experience and wouldn't hesitate to stay there on my next visit. Thank you Ellan and Alibi team for being so wonderful!

What a good place to stay if you plan to visit Leeuwarden. Location is good, staff is really helpful and you get all of the services you need from breakfast to showers even to renting bikes with very affordable pricing. If you don't need luxury of the hotel rooms where you pay for useless stuff this is the best place in the city for you.

Incredible! Everything is in great condition; it's one of the nicest hostels I've ever been to. More of a hotel vibe. They really do have cells to sleep in! Quite modern (read: secure) locking system with RFID keys to enter the cells. Everything is clean, orderly, and they don't lean into the prison theme too much. Showers and toilets are in good standing. Breakfast was good; though some more options would have been nice. The place isn't far at all from the centrum; and there are many little shops run by entrepreneurs on the ground floor to buy gifts at.

Lovely and very helpful staff. Clean accommodations. Great location with many sights within walking distance. Quite fun "sleeping in prison" experience for me and my husband for two nights in August 2024.

We were looking for a lodging with a small kitchenette whenever I found the Alibi Hostel. As a couple in our 40s, we didn't know how well we'd be received at a hostel, but the staff didn't blink an eye. The double room was perfect for us. The staff was very accommodating with providing us with a fan and one of the double rooms without bunk beds. The kitchen was well equipped. Two refrigerators for sharing. The mattresses were more comfortable than I would have expected. The bathrooms are kept quite clean with the shower and toilet facilities separate from each other. Pleased that they provided linens, pillows, and towels. The only small issue we had was that Wi-Fi went in and out late at night, likely when most people were using it. Regardless, would recommend. The building is very unique.

Neat and clean. Friendly staff. Excellent value for money and quality. A few minutes walk from the city center. Definitely recommended to stay overnight if you are visiting Leeuwarden. This is an amazing place! Pleasant and full of positive emotions hostel. So nice to stay there! Fully recommended. The showers are clean and there is enough space. And the floor is pleasantly heated everywhere very well. If you need to spend the night in Leeuwarden, this is a really great and very interesting place! Plumbing in good condition. We really liked the industrial style.

The best prison experience what we had so far. The only recommemdation is next time pls turn on the heater in a very rainy Saturday because everywhere in the hoster the heaters were turned off. After we had arrived we turned the on and the room heated up quicly so it was ok but it would be nicer if you arrive to a warm room when you are fully wet.||Plus point: The cappuchino is nice and cheap.
