Located outside of Alicante, it's well connected to the city and popular sea resorts thanks to various transportation options, including coaches to Calpe, Altea, Benissa, Murcia. For a second-tier airport, the terminal displays an impressive, short of pompous, architecture of steel and glass. The building stands really tall indeed. Inside, the layout is basic and efficient. Major European low-cost carriers have desks and check-in counters. I went through the security formalities in less than 15 minutes despite the long waiting line. They are a handful of F&B options such as Tim Horton, Burger King and Starbucks. Access to toilets is free of charge.
