Yelp
What a fantastic find! We decided to meet up with some friends that live in North SLC for breakfast and I mentioned that I had found Alice's Kitchen on Yelp. This little gem of a restaurant is located off the beaten path (you will seriously question if you are in the right area when driving to the place the first time), but it was so ever worth finding it. Several Yelp reviews we read mentioned that it was noisy, and yes it was... but not any worse than most restaurants we eat at regularly. So don't let that deter you from seeking it out.
Despite the odd location, the interior atmosphere was fun and eclectic, but felt cozy, and the customers there for breakfast on a Sunday morning were very diverse. The hostess immediately cleaned off a table for us and grabbed our coffee and menus and made sure we were well taken care of until our server arrived.
The menu is wonderful and it took us a good 10 minutes to finally settle on our dishes. Our server, who was very sweet and attentive, recommended the Chili Verde, which was served on several Mexican inspired breakfast dishes. We took her advice and ordered the Breakfast Burrito smothered in Chili Verde, a couple orders of the Huevos Rancheros (again with the Chili Verde), and the Mini-Breakfast. (Which was not so "mini" with its big, beautiful scone.) The portion sizes are pretty hefty and we made an old school try to finish them since they all tasted so delicious, but had to call it quits because we couldn't stuff anymore in.
We are planning another trip to the area soon and I cannot wait to go back and try their tamales (a special that day), Navajo Taco and Monte Cristo. I'm drooling now just thinking about it and wish we lived closer. We will definitely be making this our "go-to" breakfast location while in t
