Alien Swirling Saucers at Disney's Hollywood Studios is such a fun ride, especially if you're a Toy Story fan. This is a kiddie ride but I love it so much, and unapologetically at that!
The ride is basically the same as Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at Disney's California Adventure at Disneyland in Anaheim, but with spaceships instead of tractors. The theming is so much better here.
The ride vehicles are plenty big for two adults to fit (Pooh sized guests, take note!), and they are ridiculously stinking cute! You climb into your own colorful spaceship that's "driven" by a little green alien! I always pick my favorite, but all of their silly expressions just make it even better. The upbeat sci-fi music and bright lights add to the playful vibe, and the ride really swings you around which makes it both thrilling and family-friendly.
A couple of things to keep in mind: the line is mostly outside, so it can get really hot during the day. If you're sensitive to spinning rides, you might feel a bit woozy afterward. For what it's worth, I suffer from motion sickness but this ride doesn't make me queasy at all (go figure). It's not as bad as the teacups (at WDW and Disneyland) or Roger Rabbit (at Disneyland), but it does swing around and can be a bit rough.
Minus one star because I hate the queue area here, there isn't a lot to see, and its SUPER hot and can be long. Don't wait a long time for this ride, just come earlier in the day or either at night before closing and it's almost always a "walk on" attraction even when they close one of the two sides of the ride.
Alien Swirling Saucers is a blast and definitely worth checking out if you're in Toy Story Land. Kids and adults will love it, too. It's a quick, fun ride that always leaves me smiling.
