Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Alila, better known for its beachside villa hotels, turns out to have a knack for skyscraper-topping luxury hotels as well. Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur is named for the vibrant, up-and-coming low-rise neighborhood over which it towers, and from within its minimalist-luxe rooms, all located on the upper floors of the tower, the views of the city are expansive indeed. In typical Alila style the in-room comforts are lavish, and while there’s no spa, there is an impressive open-air pool deck, whose pool bar is joined by two restaurants: Entier, a “nose-to-tail” French concept, and the verdant Asian/international Botanica + Co." - Tablet Hotels

3 new urban retreats to visit on your next holiday - SilverKris

"Occupying the 35th to 44th floors of a mixed-use development in the Bangsar neighbourhood of Kuala Lumpur, this lush urban retreat pairs a wood-clad exterior with serene, light-filled interiors punctuated by tall leafy plants. The lobby and public spaces emphasize calming materials such as wood, marble and stone, with brass fittings and warm lighting creating an intimate yet expansive minimalist-luxe atmosphere. Sustainability is a focus — plastic is largely avoided in favour of refillable glass bottles and in-shower dispensers — and technology is integrated into service (iPad check-in and TV-console room service). Guests can swim with a city view, dine at the hotel’s main restaurant, Entier, which practices nose-to-tail cooking using locally sourced ingredients, and relax in cosy rooms that feature small communal living areas on each floor, comfy sofas, art and design tomes, and a well-stocked self-service pantry." - SilverKris

Review: Alila Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur - SilverKris

"Occupying the 35th to 44th floors of a mixed-use development in Bangsar, this hotel pairs a wood-clad exterior with serene, light-filled interiors punctuated by tall leafy plants and a verdant green, wood-and-marble palette. Designed by Neri & Hu, its minimalist-luxe aesthetic blends natural materials with Art Deco nods—wood, stone and brass fittings—creating an expansive yet intimate atmosphere warmed by soft lighting. Sustainability is a focus, with refillable glass bottles and shower dispensers, iPad check-in and TV-based room-service ordering to cut paper, and rooftop rainwater harvesting to water the plants. Dining centers on Entier, a nose-to-tail restaurant led by chef Masashi Horiuchi, who sources locally and uses French techniques to elevate ingredients (even making chicken heart approachable); dishes are often large and meant for sharing, such as a 1kg Josper-grilled côte de boeuf. The Pacific Standard bar channels old-Hollywood glamour with cocktails like the Bel Air Fizz and Hollywood Highball. Rooms feel like private havens with sweeping city views, while communal spaces on each level—where lifts open into small living rooms with comfy sofas, art-and-design tomes and a self-service pantry—reinforce a relaxed, home-away-from-home vibe; the lobby and multi-level rooftop bar offer 360-degree vistas overlooking the pool and city." - Emily Ding

One of the weirdest hotels I've stayed at. A 5-star construction, in a 3-star location, with a mixture of the most professional and unprofessional staff I have met in the over 200-odd hotel properties I've stayed at in my life. Made even more interesting given this is an Alila property, and Alila Shanghai was an amazing stay. IMO, would be better off not as an Alila. The reception staff and housekeeping was very good. Then the lobby restaurant staff would stand around and gossip about you in the open. To top it off, the valet parking is unavailable, but the valet guy would sit on his phone in the lobby sofa and watch tik toks on his phone. Rooms were up to standard, less a few minor issues I've already taken up with management. They give good WoH perks so no complains there. Location isn't really Bangsar, it's Brickfields... so Little India. But it is value for money.

Other than the need to switch multiple lifts just to get to the room, the experience is great from the check-in, rooms, to the breakfast at BoCo below. Loved how spacious the room was overlooking Bangsar and how well maintained it is. The bathroom is also very spacious and have enough hooks to hang toiletries, towels, and clothes - which is pretty rare these days. Enjoyed our stay and will be back for more!

I loved the room, the design, and the pool. I stayed there for 6 days and 5 nights, and the breakfast menu changed every day (though pretty similar). The only downside is the location — it’s on top of another hotel, so you have to go up to around the 50th floor just to reach the lobby, which takes quite a while. A bit inconvenient for people who move around a lot. They also don’t have any entertainment for kids besides the pool (and it’s not even a kids’ pool).

Staying at Alila Bangsar is the right choice if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur. The location is very quiet, perfect for resting. The location is very close to the Brickfields area (Little India) and KL Sentral, just a short walk away. The hotel is also connected to the Bangsar LRT station / Bank Rakyat. The hotel is in very good condition and well maintained. All facilities are well maintained and in very good condition. For the 5-star class breakfast menu, in my opinion, it is still limited, but the taste is still very good especially local snack such as cekodok pisang , i really love

Always an amazing experience when staying at Alila Bangsar. Clean and cosy room and service was fantastic!! The kind staff even took away breakfast for me when I couldn’t make it to breakfast the next morning due to an early flight. Big thank you to the kind staff at Alila <3

We had a wonderful stay at Alila Hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout my visit, especially Guest Experience Manager Shafie Tohar, who was helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. I really appreciated the thoughtful touches such as a coffee machine and snacks available on every floor — always topped up and spotless. The gym was also well equipped albiet a but small. The only small downside was that the in-room TV was not a smart TV, but everything else more than made up for it. With the combination of warm hospitality, great amenities, and a comfortable atmosphere, I would definitely recommend Alila Hotel and look forward to returning.Do take note that the swimming pool is very small, the depth till 1.2m only and that moving from the first floor to your room will require you to go to reception on the 41st floor, walk abut, wait for another lift that services the guests rooms. Thank you Alila Hotel! It was a wonderfully relaxing time

Outstanding Service and Comfortable Stay! I was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! We booked 3 rooms and stayed 2nights. Check-in was quick and smooth, and we was greeted with warm smiles and a refreshing welcome drink. A special shout out to Mr Shafie Tohar , incredibly friendly , helpful and efficient. The room was spacious, clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great! A pleasant and comfortable stay with great service and facilities. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Yelp
The lobby is on the 41st floor and the room are 5 floors down which require taking a separate elevators. Every time you need to go down to the ground floor , you need to go up to the 41st floor and then take another elevator to the ground floor. The is the only item I do not like about this hotel. The room is a good size with 2 long sofas in the room and ground to ceiling windows with a decent view of the city. The restroom is setup well, long sink with ample space for all your toiletries and two entrance to it and a standup shower. Love that they have a good coffee maker which can dispense latte and cappuccinos on every floor by the elevator with glass and togo cups. There are 3 restaurants in this hotel. One on the ground floor and 2 on the 41st floor. Overall I would recommend this hotel as long as you are ok dealing with the elevator situation.

Yelp
Alila Bangsar is part of the World of Hyatt network of luxury hotels, so if you are a member, this might be a good choice for lodging in between KL and Petaling Jaya. Could not be happier to score a night for only 3,500 Hyatt points for a total of three nights in KL back in March 2024. The main inconvenience is the number of elevators required to get from your room all the way down to ground transportation. However, the hotel is conveniently connected to the Bangsar LRT station that'll take you all the way to the heart of KL at just a couple or few Ringgit... very affordable. Complimentary transportation to the Mid-Valley mall if arranged with the front desk. It is about a 20-min walk thru Little India to KL Sentral, the bus station if you travel to Genting Highlands.

Yelp
If you are looking for a 5-star experience in a sleek and sexy hotel, definitely stay at Alila in Bangsar. I was truly impressed with this hotel and its staff, location, rooms, amenities, and attention to detail. First and foremost, the hotel is attached to a local MRT transit station, so you can easily access it anywhere in KL, including the airport. The rooms are AMAZING! I felt the added touch of each amenity made me feel at home when I stepped into my room. There are spacious beds, fantastic views, large bathrooms, and large desks to connect to work. There is free reliable wifi that is fast and the hotel offers a pool and gym under renovation but allows you to use the facilities on the 9th floor for the time being. I love that each floor has coffee stations and free snacks throughout the day. The hotel restaurants are also FABULOUS! The staff here really want you to enjoy your stay and come back. I will definitely choose Alila next time I am in KL.
