"Think of Bali and you almost certainly think of idyllic white sand beaches, thatched-roof villas open to the sea breeze, and maybe a bit of snorkeling. Alila Ubud, then, will confound expectations, as it shows a different side of Bali. The town of Ubud is Bali's arts capital, and is well inland, surrounded by lush valleys and volcanic hills no less spectacular than the island's beaches." - Tablet Hotels

What a beautiful hotel surrounded by nature and little monkeys. A short drive from Ubud town with a complimentary shuttle several times a day. The staff are warm, welcoming and so friendly. The food is delicious and the à la carte breakfast menu changes daily. Treated myself to a crème hair bath at the spa which was fabulous. The pool area has magnificent views of the surrounding forest. I have never stayed anywhere like this and hope to return one day. 5 stars!! Loved it!

From the moment we arrived at Alila Ubud, it was clear this resort is something special. Nestled in the lush greenery of Bali’s highlands, the property offers a tranquil retreat away from the bustle of Ubud town.||Staff: The team here is truly outstanding. Every interaction felt warm, genuine, and attentive without being intrusive. They anticipated our needs and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.||Food & Drinks: Absolutely phenomenal! Each meal was a culinary experience, blending authentic Balinese flavors with modern touches. The cocktails were equally impressive—crafted with care and creativity. Dining here feels like a celebration of taste and presentation.||Ambiance: Quiet and serene, perfect for relaxation. The infinity pool overlooking the jungle is breathtaking, and the entire property exudes calm and harmony.||Rooms: Spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculately maintained. The blend of natural materials and modern comfort creates a soothing atmosphere. Waking up to jungle views was pure magic.||Overall: If you’re looking for a peaceful sanctuary with exceptional service and world-class dining, Alila Ubud is the place. Highly recommended for couples, solo travelers, or anyone seeking a luxurious escape in nature.

Stunning location and views of the forested valley. Beautiful rooms. Gorgeous pool lives up to photos. Great breakfast spread. Friendly, helpful staff. That said, they inexplicably removed the fruit basket from our room on the second day. Breakfast service on the first and second day were excellent. Disastrous on day 3. The rooms are beautiful but the bathrooms look worn - corners especially don’t look properly cleaned, faucets have lost their shine, and thick caulking around toilet and sink show their age. Finally, we had dinner at the evening dance performance and didn’t find the dishes particularly flavourful. We very much enjoyed our stay but expected more at this price point.

We had an awesome stay! The staff was super helpful and kind. We moved to Alila Manggis and accidentally left a bag in the drawer, but they were able to retrieve it and send it to our new hotel—really impressive! The food was delicious, and I loved how they changed the menu every day. Also, I really enjoyed walking to the rice fields and exploring the centuries old village nearby.

We stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and it was lovely! Beautiful location in the jungle and the breakfast was delicious! The staff were so nice and friendly and we had a wonderful time exploring the nearby rice fields and doing day trips around Ubud and north Bali.|I’ve seen some reviews of there being animals and lizards around - yes, you are in the middle of the jungle, so there are of course lots of monkeys and lizards around! The rooms are very clean though and the staff are well used to chasing the monkeys off. The afternoon tea is also a very nice touch, this is usually a tea/coffee with a few traditional Indonesian snacks like banana fritters and sweet rice. There are activities like sunrise poolside yoga and Tai Chi which are also a nice addition, and there are free bikes available to cycle around the nearby rice paddies and villages. We really enjoyed our stay and it was a great start to our honeymoon, thank you Alila!!

Beautiful hotel. Tranquil escape to the middle of the jungle. Surrounded by nature. Lovely pool and good food. The views are something else, unreal location, beautiful rooms, exceptional service. If you don’t like stairs you might have a problem but remember you are in the jungle at the top of the rain forest.

A great hotel, beautiful location, and the staff is incredible. The setting is wonderful, the rooms are nice, the bedding is excellent, and the cleaning is very well done. The staff is truly outstanding. A huge thank you to the manager — I had a personal mishap with my little child who had to spend a night in the hospital, so I couldn’t sleep at the hotel on the third night. She arranged a driver for me and provided dinner for my wife and me. A huge thank you to all the staff who took such great care of us. Thank you so much for everything

We stayed at the Hyatt Alila in Ubud and were truly impressed by the serene, nature-immersed setting. The location is incredibly peaceful—perhaps a bit too relaxing for my personal taste, but my wife absolutely loved it. The infinity pool is a major highlight with breathtaking views of the lush jungle—easily one of the best spots to unwind. Breakfast was generally good, though service was inconsistent depending on the staff, especially at the egg station. We stayed in a Pool Villa, and the room was fantastic. The private pool was a great size, and the outdoor bathtub surrounded by a fish pond was simply magical—such a unique and calming experience. One downside was the monkeys—they were quite aggressive and made us a bit uneasy at times. Also, during a heavy rain, the roof of our villa started leaking, and we had to mop the floors ourselves to avoid slipping. The hotel offered to move us to a different villa (not a pool villa), but repacking would’ve been a hassle, so we declined. Unfortunately, there was no other compensation or follow-up, which was a bit disappointing for a property of this caliber. Overall, it’s a beautiful property perfect for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility, with a few service inconsistencies and room issues that hopefully are one-offs.
