We stayed at the Hyatt Alila in Ubud and were truly impressed by the serene, nature-immersed setting. The location is incredibly peaceful—perhaps a bit too relaxing for my personal taste, but my wife absolutely loved it.
The infinity pool is a major highlight with breathtaking views of the lush jungle—easily one of the best spots to unwind. Breakfast was generally good, though service was inconsistent depending on the staff, especially at the egg station.
We stayed in a Pool Villa, and the room was fantastic. The private pool was a great size, and the outdoor bathtub surrounded by a fish pond was simply magical—such a unique and calming experience.
One downside was the monkeys—they were quite aggressive and made us a bit uneasy at times. Also, during a heavy rain, the roof of our villa started leaking, and we had to mop the floors ourselves to avoid slipping. The hotel offered to move us to a different villa (not a pool villa), but repacking would’ve been a hassle, so we declined. Unfortunately, there was no other compensation or follow-up, which was a bit disappointing for a property of this caliber.
Overall, it’s a beautiful property perfect for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility, with a few service inconsistencies and room issues that hopefully are one-offs.
