Alila Ubud

We stayed at the Hyatt Alila in Ubud and were truly impressed by the serene, nature-immersed setting. The location is incredibly peaceful—perhaps a bit too relaxing for my personal taste, but my wife absolutely loved it. The infinity pool is a major highlight with breathtaking views of the lush jungle—easily one of the best spots to unwind. Breakfast was generally good, though service was inconsistent depending on the staff, especially at the egg station. We stayed in a Pool Villa, and the room was fantastic. The private pool was a great size, and the outdoor bathtub surrounded by a fish pond was simply magical—such a unique and calming experience. One downside was the monkeys—they were quite aggressive and made us a bit uneasy at times. Also, during a heavy rain, the roof of our villa started leaking, and we had to mop the floors ourselves to avoid slipping. The hotel offered to move us to a different villa (not a pool villa), but repacking would’ve been a hassle, so we declined. Unfortunately, there was no other compensation or follow-up, which was a bit disappointing for a property of this caliber. Overall, it’s a beautiful property perfect for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility, with a few service inconsistencies and room issues that hopefully are one-offs.

Overall, amazing stay! The infinity pool with the jungle views was one of the most amazing views I’ve ever seen. The staff was incredibly kind as well. I wasn’t feeling well and they offered to bring me ginger tea. They also are very good with remembering faces and names. HUGE SHOUT OUT TO WATAYAN! He was our server for our dinner in the jungle (highly recommend this experience for couples, felt like a bachelor date lol) He was so kind and really went out of his way to make the experience memorable for us. He always said hi and talked to us the other days. The only reason for the 4 stars is because the rooms are very outdated. Our room felt small and dark even though we were upgraded to the king deluxe room. Having the option to only shower outside was a little weird too, especially at night with bugs out. The service and pool are of 5 star resort quality, but I’d say the rooms are more 3-4 star resort when compared to other hotels in the area. Still though, great stay and we really enjoyed it! Just don’t expect it to be too flashy!

Overall we had an amazing experience! The hotel is small, but very beautiful and unique. The views were breathtaking and the monkeys made it extra cool. One small complaint is that the shower doors are tiny and water gets everywhere in the bathroom which was a bit annoying. However besides that, the rooms were wonderful and clean and the service was great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. One thing I really want to commend is their food allergy awareness and ability to accommodate. I was so nervous traveling to Bali with a peanut allergy, but after reading positive reviews on this hotel, decided to take the chance and book the trip. They were very accommodating and made sure to cook food separately with clean oil each time for me. They remembered me and made notes so I didn’t have to repeat myself each time. They even made me a special cake since I was celebrating my birthday, and made sure there were no nuts in it. Every meal I had in Bali was at this hotel (and another I stayed at), and that’s what made it possible for someone like me to go there. I appreciated it so much!

Had a 4 nights stay here a couple years ago for a family vacation, but the amazing memories are still vivid. Saw pictures of the hotel pool online and always thought how amazing that was—it lived up to the hype! We had the villa with forest view. I’m from the city so it took some adjusting as we heard different types of insect or other living creatures making noises at night especially when we tried to sleep. Good thing we were tired so we still slept at ease. Some parts of the room, especially the bathroom seems a bit wore out & a touch up would be much welcome. One thing we didn’t like how the bedroom was disconnected from the bathroom (had to walk through a semi outdoor connector, though still within your own villa, when you need to go to use the toilet at night—where different small creatures such as frogs & other insects may await you). If you are into the outdoors & enjoy nature, then this would definitely be a plus! We had breakfast here every morning and it was delicious! The staff were exceptional! Very polite and welcoming and shows what hospitality should be like! I would definitely stay here again if in Ubud! We spent 2 weeks here on our honeymoon in June 2025 and we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. It was very clean and the staff here are nothing short of amazing. They always greeted us with lovely smiles and asked how we were. Around the pool, the staff always checked we had fresh cold water and made sure drinks and food were delivered to us quickly. The food at this hotel is the best food I have ever eaten and everything I ate here was delicious and presented so beautifully! The monkeys that live in this jungle are very cute and cheeky and we saw them daily which was a bonus. Thank you to everyone at Alila Ubud for an unforgettable honeymoon!

Alila Ubud is a fantastic place to stay if you're looking to relax and get away from it all. Set in a quiet rainforest valley, the surroundings are peaceful and full of natural beauty.||||The staff were outstanding – genuinely friendly, professional, and nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.||||As vegetarians, this was the first place we’ve stayed where there were no issues with the food – both in terms of quality and choice. The vegetarian menu had plenty of good options, and if there wasn’t something that suited, the staff were more than happy to make something else. It made a real difference to feel so well looked after.||The rooms were clean and comfortable, with lovely views, and the whole resort is well designed to make the most of the setting. The infinity pool is a real highlight, offering stunning views over the valley.||||All in all, Alila Ubud is a calm, well-run resort with top-notch service and great food – we had a brilliant time and would happily return.

Stayed for 4 nights at Villa 509. Impeccable service from front office & restaurant (Sustina & Rusmiwati- I hope I got the ladies’ name right) & tour guide (Patrick) . The Barong Night dinner & Spice Market dinner were beautifully decked up with Balinese decor. Wonderful spread at breakfast with plenty of healthy options. We brought back tons of wonderful memories from this trip

came for dinner, and enjoyed the kitchen and service. beautiful view over pool, with a backdrop of the forest beyond. the hotel was well designed, is comfortable setting, and enjoyed the modern Balinese craftmenship. the restaurant staff kindly gifted my son a coconut to enjoy with dinner :)
