Yesterday was our third visit to Aliment, and we've never been disappointed. It's located physically very close to Hylin and Tracks, and I don't think there's a great deal of difference between them when it comes to quality.
The coffee I had yesterday - a long mac, as is my usual these days - was one of the best cups I've had in quite a few weeks, which was surprising but very welcome.
We were actually one our way for breakfast somewhere else when I spotted Aliment's weekend specials on Instagram, and simply had to divert for the corn bread big breakfast ($20) with bacon, chorizo, poached eggs, spicy tomato sauce, fresh citrus, herb salsa and a tempura jalapeno! I love corn bread, and this was beautifully soft and crumbly. I also love chilli but a whole jalapeno was a bit much for me, especially at breakfast time.
There was also savoury crumpets ($18) on the specials menu with fresh tomato, avocado, feta, poached eggs and rockets & basil pesto - interesting. Renay chose the corn, zucchini and sweet potato fritters with smashed avocado and chimichurri ($18) from the standard menu, which was nice and fresh.
The service at Aliment is always efficient and friendly, and you can probably still get a table when Hylin is already standing room only - just don't leave it too late, though.
I've never managed to get there for the lemon meringue French toast special, maybe one day...
