The Best Things to Do in Bali, the Island of the Gods | Condé Nast Traveler

"In North Bali, Aling Aling and the surrounding Secret Garden of Sambangan offer one of the region’s most rewarding waterfall experiences, combining lush jungle scenery with a sense of adventure. The trail connects four waterfalls—Kroya, Kembar, Pucuk, and Aling Aling—each with its own draws, from natural stone slides to cliff-jumping platforms. While a guide is required for swimming or jumping, the route itself is easy to navigate independently. The waterfalls start to get busier by the afternoon, so arrive early in the morning for the quietest experience and for the best lighting if you’re taking photos." - Julia Eskins

I visit this place once (it's around 20–25 minute scooter ride from town), and super recommended for adrenaline junkie. You can jump into the water from different heights, starting at 5 meters. You can also hire a local guide here to ensure safety.

My visit to Aling Aling Waterfall was one of the highlights of the trip. The whole place has a mix of adventure and calm that makes it perfect for anyone who enjoys nature with a little excitement. The hiking route to the waterfall is very manageable. It is not too long and the path is clear enough for most people to enjoy without feeling worn out. Along the way you can hear the sound of rushing water which makes the walk feel even more refreshing. Once we reached the main area, the views were beautiful. The water is cool and clear, surrounded by greenery that immediately puts you in a good mood. What I loved most were the cliff jumping spots. They are thrilling but still feel safe when done with guidance. The natural waterfall slides were another fun surprise. Sliding down the smooth rocks into the pool below feels like being in a natural waterpark. Our local guide made the experience even better. He was friendly and patient, and he knew exactly how to bring us to the best spots while keeping everyone comfortable. He also had a great eye for photos and videos. He helped us capture the jumps and slides so we can remember the whole experience long after the trip. Overall, Aling Aling Waterfall is a place I would happily recommend. Whether you want an adventure or simply a refreshing time in nature, it offers a little of everything and leaves you with wonderful memories.

Wow! Every group is assigned a local guide included in the entrance cost. They have short, medium and long tours from 1-4 hours as well as ATV tours. Our guide was great! Took photos, helped us with sliding down the waterfall (got our adrenaline going) and jumping from the 5 and 10 meter platforms into the lagoon. The water was so clean and cold! Plus it’s surrounded by the jungle, so it was the perfect experience for a hot day because you were in the canopy shade!! Just a beautiful place!

Absolutely fantastic time had by us all, a family of five ready for some fun. The access to the waterfalls is fairly steep, down about 150 well maintained steps. Guides are helpful, informative and supportive. We had plenty of time to relax, take in the sights, jump into the plunge pools and slide down the waterfall.

Aling aling waterfall is a great place, even though I'm at home, I'm still very impressed. It was cool to jump into the water and roll down the waterfall like a slide. Be sure to visit this place if you are in Bali, the service is very high quality, and our accompanying guide Putu_leyonk was especially kind to us. Thank you so much for his help and advice on how and where to jump. He's a professor at his job!

This was such a beautiful waterfall! There were 3 different ones. The path we had to walk on was well maintained and the views were so nice. There were nice rice terraces at the beginning. The walk back to the entrance/exit was a bit confusing, cause we had to walk on the side of the road. But anyway, it was a cool experience and the waterfalls looked amazing. We saw a guy slide down one of the waterfalls. You could do those types of activities, but we didn't do that.

Aling-Aling Waterfall in Sambangan is stunning tall, powerful, and surrounded by green jungle. You can swim, slide, and jump at nearby smaller falls like Kroya and Kembar with a local guide. 💡 Tips: Entrance IDR 20,000 (view only) or IDR 125k–250k for adventure. Bring swimsuit, towel, sandals, and go early morning for cool weather. Parking, lockers, and toilets available. One of Bali’s best waterfalls for both nature and adventure!

A gorgeous area with 4 waterfalls, at least 2 of them very suitable for swimming or soaking or jumping, with very friendly and knowledgeable and safe guides, around $20 for the 3 or so-hour tour. Wear safe shoes and light clothing, bring water and swimsuit, and enjoy a morning here. Don't forget to tip the guide, they deserve it.

Refreshing waterfall. Walk from entrance is about 15 mins and is quite manageable. You get water slides and jump all in one place. Life vests are provided. Guide spoke very good English and took good care of us. My family enjoyed the session!
