Alivio Tourist Park Canberra

I wasn’t expecting this to be a holiday park, but the location was perfect. However, as soon as we checked into our cabin, we found it to be average in cleanliness, with spider webs everywhere and German cockroaches all over. The bed sheets and blankets were also dirty. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a big smile. The restaurant was excellent, offering affordable prices and five-star service. I understand that this park is in the bush, but they really need to focus more on cleaning and pest control. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if I would return to this park again.

The grounds, facilities, restaurant and bar are excellent but I would only stay again if I paid the much higher price for the new cabins. We went 'mid price' and were in one of the older cabins and it was actually quite awful. So tiny, bathroom was unpleasant, walls do like cardboard, AC barely made a difference, no outside area, beds below standard. These old cabins have got to go or else make it very clear in advertising that they are BASIC. Made the overall stay disappointing.

Beautiful new cabin. Very clean. Comfortable bedding. Blind could have been put up in kitchen window; but apart from that our stay was very lovely. Restaurant staff were very friendly. Kids loved the pool and play areas.

The park itself is nice. We are currently staying at a site with ensuit amenities, which is wonderful. Amenities are nice and clean. The park lacks of green though. There is lot of dirt/soil but no grass. So our kids are dirty all the time when they run around outside the camper. The pool area is very nice, pool itself is nice and clean. The restaurant area looks very nice, there are even toys for the kids to play at. WiFi is not good. Don’t book the breakfast buffet though. There is not enough staff to manage the workload. Everywhere you can see tables stacked with dirty dishes, nobody cleans the tables. Coffee is not included in the high price, there are no fresh fruits at the buffet (just canned ones- like in a cafeteria in a youth hostel), there was no butter left after a while, nothing but honey and jam to put on your toast (no cheese or anything). They ran out of mugs half way through breakfast time. No muesli/granola, just two types of basic cereals. No kids cereals. Kids from 0-5 pay 5$, which is not much, but a baby (especially my baby, which is still nursing) will not eat anything from the buffet. The buffet lacks healthy food at all. Would not book this again.

The Cabin was great and the kids lived the swimming pool. Had a small issue with our meal at the restaurant but the lovely staff compensated us for. Overall we were happy with the service and the cabin we stayed in. We even saw some of the furry locals.

In general, we liked our stay here, check in and out process was easy and bed was comfy. The room was equipped with all necessary equipment but it feels a bit outdated. I could’ve stayed in a 4 star hotel just by paying a few extra dollars. The main reason we wanna stay here is because we wanna experience living in a cabin.. Anyway, we are happy with everything here so far, will reconsider staying here again in the future

A beautiful place for a family trip! The rooms were great for the size, however ours did have a urine scent to it and there was some mould throughout. The staff service was great upon arrive. Would NOT recommend dining at ‘The Verandah’ inside dining, the food was simple and lacked flavour. The only flaw when going with younger kids is the ‘hillness’ of the park, otherwise ample activities available.

Really lovely caravan park, plenty of activities for kids, clean grounds and pool area, well set out. Unfortunately did not see any vacated ensuite sites be cleaned during our week stay. Nice layout of camp kitchen but no cleaning utilities available to clean up after use
