This review is from the point of view of a family of 4, so take that into account when assessing your hotel options in Tokyo. The good: Location. Can't argue with the location. The staff were decently friendly and helpful for the most part. The bad: Cost vs other more premium and chain hotels is out of this world crazy. I was blindsided by this as I paid over SG$750/night expecting something pretty decent and what I got was not, what i would call, decent. In hindsight I could get a chain hotel for the same price, if not cheaper, have bigger rooms, a lobby, more amenities, much more family friendly maybe with a compromise on the location. I would've compromised the location. That's on me though for not doing the appropriate research, so I dont really blame the hotel for that but its good for other potential customers to know. The specifics: Tiny rooms, and i mean small. For 4 people you cant even have your luggage open. Suitcases need to be opened on the beds. The beds literally take up all the space. We had to leave some of our luggage downstairs at the "reception" to make room. The "reception" is Self Checkin/Checkout on a not very Intuitive system, which is frustrating after travelling a long way. Staff are there to help, so there's that. No water in the rooms, you need to go upstairs with your own water bottles. No heating just outside the rooms. Its actually open roof so when you step out of the rooms, its very cold during winter. Not ideal. Room clean every 3 days unless you request it (and for the price you better beleive i requested it). Room cleaning is sub standard. There was still dirt and hairs around the room after the cleaning. No phones In the rooms. Just a communal phone in the cold corridors outside the room. This hotel advertises itself as a eco hotel, dubious justification for a minimalist approach in my opinion. Summary: Don't go if you're a family. There are better, more cost effective options. If your a single or a couple, and are there for the vibes of Shibuya, sure, its an option but i think there a better options for the price.

We recently stayed here for almost two weeks and found the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful. There was an issue with our booking (via our travel agent) however they were quick to assist us and find a resolution. The location is fabulous — a two minute walk from the train station, and very close walking distance to many popular tourist attractions such as Shibuya Sky, Shibuya Scramble Crossing, Cat St, Yoyogi Park, and more. The rooms are small, particularly the ‘compact’ rooms (we had one compact, one non-compact) but overall were clean and comfortable. If you are looking for space, or room features such as a couch or desk, this may not be the place for you however, there were three of us staying across two rooms, but we were able to enjoy time together at night, alongside a fourth person whom we were visiting in Tokyo, in the non-compact room and watch some TV/relax together. Our towels and bins were serviced everyday and the room was cleaned with fresh sheets put on the bed every third day. You can request a clean up more frequently by putting a sign on your door, if you wish. There is a lovely pizza restaurant on the second floor, and a bar & cafe + unique pop up shops on the first floor. The laundry room on the eighth floor is handy. We all agree that we would stay here again in the future.

Rooms are rather spacious for Tokyo but with absolutely no love or care. Just the essential and dirty carpet. Also in the bathroom it is not very clean for japanese standards. Very poor to no bathroom essentials. They only clean every three days and provide no drinking water in the room due to sustainability. You can take your hardplastic jug to a different floor to fill up. We stayed in many eco-friendly places and are sure they are just being cheap rather than caring for the environment - especially for the price you pay per night. Location is fine. Staff is a bit weird as you feel like walking into a genius bar at apple store rather than a reception. Also check-in and out are self-service.. another point of being cheap for the rather high price of the room. We're fine with selfservice but in combination with no room service and no ammeneties we're rather in an airbnb than a hotel?

Visit Dates: 18 Nov 25 - 20 Nov 25 (2 nights) Positives - Comfortable bed and pillows - Nice shower - Smooth and technologically advanced check in system Negatives - Minimal lighting, making the room feel dim (I had to ask for a lamp, which was promptly delivered) - Stuffy atmosphere with poor ventilation - Unable to access the Window for air - Extremely expensive (over ¥80,000 per night) for what is offered - No hooks in the room. Very inconvenient - Bathroom vanity awkwardly placed inside the room - Fridge off by default upon check in and is a waste. It does not cool anything - Only way to contact reception is a communal phone outside the room in the hallway or go downstairs 🤔 I stayed at 'lyf Shibuya' just two nights earlier, which cost less than half the price, offered much larger rooms, unlimited hooks for hanging, a bathtub with a full comfortable bathroom and had an equally convenient location. The contrast was striking. The room size at All Day Place Shibuya is shockingly small—even by Tokyo standards. In all my stays in Shibuya, I have never encountered such cramped accommodations. Tinier than the tiny rooms expected in Tokyo. Cleaning every 3 days is not for being eco-friendly, it's just being cheap. Not providing water bottles is not being eco-friendly either, its just another cheap scapegoat. The hotel spits out load of receipts and papers upon check-in, completely contradictory to its so called moto of being eco-friendly. I wish I had considered some of the other reviews, especially that written by John. This hotel is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel by any stretch. Verdict: This hotel does not justify its price point or reputation. I cannot recommend it. There are plenty other options in Shibuya. Try an alternative. I visit Shibuya regularly and will most definitely stay away from this place. My friends and family are also fans of Japan, to who I will not recommend this hotel. The owners respond with a template response and don't actually nor sincerely attend to any of the concerns being raised by hotel guests. Prior to writing my honest review, I allowed the hotel an opportunity to address my concerns. FYI, I opted to pay for the Super King room which is supposedly 21 sqm, after seeing the double room which is 12 sqm. The 12sqm is stupendously tiny and has no hooks whatsoever. The room at lyf Shibuya was also 12sqm, but was way more spacious and comfortable. Further, at the price point of AUD$800/night, I at least expected a bit of a view, not the wall of the next door building.

second time staying here in tokyo and love it most for its prime location and interior design/style. it’s in a quiet part of shibuya which is great, but you’re also minutes away to the station and plenty of food/shopping nearby. they also have a cute little cafe/bar downstairs that you can get discounts to. stayed here w my partner this second time and the room was definitely WAY too small for the both of us 😆 hence the 3 stars. but i guess it’s what you expect when in tokyo. there was zero room to open both our luggages so we had to unpack all our stuff and be quite smart w our use of space. though we knew this ahead of our stay so it didn’t bother us too much. we made it work for us. we loved being able to connect to our netflix, which we used every night for anime. the laundry, water and ice machines were also convenient to have. the laundry/dryer machines can take a while to dry and also wished they had more as there was only 3 available for all guests.

Honestly, not impressed!! We stayed here from December 7–11 and booked this location based on positive reviews and its central location. While the location was indeed convenient, the rooms and service were quite disappointing. Let this review serve as a heads-up for travelers booking through third-party websites as you might get scammed by this hotel. We booked a “partner offer” via Booking.com for a room with "two full beds". However, upon check-in, our reservation appeared as an Expedia confirmation for some reason and they had us listed for a "compact single-bed" room. We showed them our booking confirmation number, details, and the email clearly indicating the “two full beds” booking. The staff was ultimately unhelpful. They just stood there giving us blank stares and told us we’d have to pay extra to get the room we had already booked, or we could keep the “compact room” they were offering. They further indicated that we should contact Booking.com if we wanted a refund or to file a complaint. Booking.com then informed us that since the payment had already been made in full prior to check-in, any refunds would have to come from the property and not Booking.com. After a lot of back and forth, we ended up stuck with the smaller room and did not receive what we paid for and had email confirmation for as proof. The smaller rooms were uncomfortable and had no space for luggage or seating. The hotel had a restaurant on the lobby floor and a café on the ground floor, but no seating areas for guests to sit, work, or relax. All indoor and even outdoor seating areas were reserved exclusively for guests dining at their restaurant or café. Even when I was sitting outside on the bench by the road I was told to move as it is only for "cafe" users. There was just one small bench near the main elevator for hotel guests. Besides the location, this hotel had nothing else to offer. We are not happy with their shady business practices of up charging through third-party sites and failing to provide rooms as described.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel by any stretch. We hated the accommodations here and would not recommend it to anyone. Most frustrating is that they have very cheap bedding. They have bought a thin and cheap mattress and placed it directly onto plywood. The linens are also pretty poor. We did not sleep well once. The AC in our room was essentially nonfunctional. We could run the fan but not cool the room. On the first night the staff came twice to try to “fix it” which amounted to messing with the thermostat and telling us to wait a few hours and see. Same issue on night 4 and it only kicked in for a few minutes. I think they have limits set to keep you from cooling to your liking. It’d be one thing if this were a budget hotel but it’s not. If you sleep better cool, you should be able to cool it to your liking for this price range. Need to call the front desk? You can walk down the hallway to a phone. Need ice? 6 floors up. Need to get to and from your room? There’s 1 elevator at night from the first floor to the second floor lobby. There’s 2 small, slow, and often full elevators that you need to take to get from the lobby to your room. Stairs are emergency exit only. Tiny fridge that holds 2-3 drinks, is off by default when you check in, and doesn’t actually cool anything down when it’s on. Given everything else, cleaning rooms every 3 days is not about being eco-friendly, it’s being cheap. The rooms are small which is to be expected in this part of Tokyo, not a problem at all. Location is great if you want to be in Shibuya but you can do much better for the price. Front desk staff during the day are friendly, but that’s about all it has going for it. Overall everything feels cheap and run on a shoestring budget in this allegedly luxury hotel—choose better than us.

We fell into another tourist trap by staying in Shibuya — and apparently paid almost twice as much for this hotel compared to places in Ueno or Asakusa. That’s on us. Do better, y'all. Because this hotel operates as a cheap European hostel but charges like 5-star... Regardless, I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The coffee shop that turns into a bar at night is great — really cool vibes — and the restaurant on the second floor is a nice touch. However, the rooms are really, really small. That would be fine if they had at least some storage space. There is none, y’all. Even the cheapest cruise ship cabins have more storage. And if you can’t add storage space, MAYBE ADD SOME HOOKS? So we can hang our clothes like civilized people? Also, the laundry situation is rough. I tried three times and the machines were always full. I guess Tuesdays are maintenance days, because you can’t use them until noon. One night I couldn’t sleep and ended up doing laundry at 3 a.m. — so don’t rely on it too much, especially since they don’t have paid laundry service. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, as were the pillows. The AC worked perfectly, and the rooms were quiet — we slept well. The location is just perfect: you’re right in the heart of the chaos, but not part of it. Would we stay again here? No. But was it the worst? No. Thanks!
