I ate here for brunch, and again 2 hours later for tea time because of how enjoyable the place was.
The staff here are friendly and cordial. The first waitress who sat us was warm and made recommendations. She was exceptionally attentive and paid very close attention to us (and other diners) during the course of the meal. For instance, she asked if we would like pepper with our dishes, and when we said yes, she proceeded to grind the peppercorns for us; I found this very sincere and thoughtful, especially since the cafe did have quite a few customers. When we were paying, another female worker struck up friendly conversation with us though it was probably the end of her shift (the staff changed 2 hours later) and gave us a loyalty card. When we were back later on, another female staff served us with utmost attention and friendliness once again. She ensured that our orders came on time and was very attentive.
The food was also good. Both the wholesome and hearty breakfast sets were flavourful and meaningfully curated. The portion was just right and the ingredients tasted good together. The only feedback is probably that more condiments, like butter and relish, should be provided. Coffee was excellent; it was smooth and not overpowering, much like coffee in Melbourne, and its hard to find such good quality in Singapore. The cappuccino was particularly good and was made the traditional way. The pastries were good as well, with the salted caramel brownie being very soft and flavourful. It melts in your mouth with a nice mixture of flavours. The matcha latte was a bit lacking though; it didn't taste like matcha, was gritty and slightly acerbic, but the salted cream was a great touch nonetheless. The recipe should probably be retouched though.
Overall, great service and good food. A wonderful place for a quiet brunch or for tea time. The location is a bit further down the road (just before Fika and after Anatolia).
