Amazing Hidden Gem in Ortigia! This property is unlike any I've stayed in before. Like living inside history. The accommodations are all great and the decor, history and LOCATION are impeccable. We will choose this hotel anytime we're in the area if they have availability. The archeological discovery of the jewish baths 80 meters underground is unbelievable part of this hotel with an amazing tour.

This is a true GEM in all of Sicily. The accommodations, the service and of course the location are extraordinary. This is a “one of a kind” location in the world. More than any other observation is the way this family run business makes its guests feel. As though they are welcomed into their home, which is what it is. Exotic, warm but ancient and full of history. Each room, each step, each wall is filled with centuries of history and we absorb just by walking throughout. This hotel sits on top of the only recently discovered archaeological discovery of the ancient Jewish Baths. Costanza, Isabella and family and staff make this a rare destination on earth.

Don't be fooled by the pictures. The place we booked looks nothing like the pictures and there is no air con in the bedrooms, which makes it unacceptable. All of the furnishings in the suite were hard and rough. The bathroom was disgusting and outdated. We quickly booked another hotel not far away and we're much happier with the accommodations at the other hotel. We asked to be refunded and they did not accept despite us being in the room less than 20 minutes. There are plenty of quality hotels on the island and you should not waste your time booking here.

We arrived on probably the wettest day of the year. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and kind (angels). The apartment we slept in had two bedrooms and a mini kitchen with a little terrace. It is set in the historic district in a very ancient building with character. |The breakfast was charming, coffee good, beautiful glowing fireplace and an amazing dining room setting (would be great as a set for movies). |It is a gem for future reference- I would like to come with my family and stay for longer. If the weather had been sunny - we could have gone swimming (the sea is parallel to this place) and not got as wet! I would use public transport. |Driving Caveat: if you self drive read up about Traffic Limited Zone TLZ - which applies to Ortigia) save yourself fines and headaches by parking in car parks, valet parking or use public transport/ walk. The centre of Ortigia old town is maze like and too narrow for cars.

This is value for money but if you get the rooms in the ground floor they can seem very damp and cold an mosquitos as well so ensure that you get a good room when you checkin. the breakfast is average and fir for purpose

Where to start -- The hotel is in a great location and beautiful. We arrived between 5:30-6pm and the staff had already departed for the day and left the key in our door. One problem, we couldn't figure out to open the door with the skeleton key. Luckily someone working in the shop below was able to show us the trick in opening the door. Echoing other reviews, the staff didn't ooze customer service, rather they were rather perfunctory with their interactions with us. While there was a mini stove, sink and some dishes, there was no kettle to boil water or tea or coffee in the room. There was one (!) wine glass (for a room that slept four), no coffee /tea mugs. There was no dish soap to wash the dirty dishes and the cleaning staff didn't wash them after the first day. I had to ask the front desk to have them washed as they don't supply dish soap. ||There was one hanger for two clothes cupboards. The cleaning of the rooms was poor, at best. There was wall dust on the floor in the one bedroom and living room, and what looked like corrosion flaking from the mirror in the bathroom that didn't get wiped up while we were there. Some of the "clean towels" smelled musty. The breakfast was basic, but the omelets, cornetti and occasional fresh fruit was good.

A good central location but the rooms were in poor condition. Dated decor , Leaky showers, aircon not working, toilet seat broken , bed hard as a rock. Ourselves and our friends both had to change rooms. Reception was only open for certain hours and there was a very high turnover of staff. One day we had a really helpful person on reception (girl with long dark hair) but the next day a very unhelpful person ( girl with short hair) . Their card machine was not working and tried to tell us that the problem was our card. Checked trip advisor to find many people had this problem . Next person on reception and the same card worked !!

The hotel staff here are the best! If you need anything just ask and they will go above and beyond to help. The hotel is very clean and quiet. It’s in a great location within walking distance to countless stores and restaurants. The bus also stops directly in front of hotel.
