Alladale Wilderness Reserve

It’s hard to describe in words how amazing Alladale Wilderness Reserve is. But, I’ll try my best to explain why this place is so special. My wife and I had our best 3 days of our lives at Alladale. It was such a special and secluded location to celebrate our wedding weekend with our family. You are surrounded by the beautiful highland hills, with 360 degree stunning views! We played pickle ball on the most beautiful court in the world. You won’t find a pickle ball court with a better view! We went for 2 fabulous hikes, with the ‘2 coasts view’ being the highlight hike. We will be back for the munro!! 2 of the guests went for a wild swim and afterwards warmed up in the sauna. We had a snooker competition, cycled around the reserve on the e-mountain bikes. And to top it off, everyone had a go at shooting the clay pigeons. The staff on site were absolutely amazing, and made us all feel so special. The staff really do pride themselves on giving the guests a 5 star experience. Hayley did a brilliant job in organising our wedding weekend. And Stephane and his team really did a fabulous job of executing Hayley’s plan. Throughout the 3 days we were constantly treated to the most amazing food. Everything is homemade by Brian and his sous chef. We had the most delicious canapes and 5 course wedding dinner. The rooms at Alladale lodge have everything you could wish for. You can see that thought has gone into every detail. My wife and I stayed in the Willow room. The views from the big windows are spectacular. Eagles Crag is a slightly more modern lodge, with arguably even better views than at the main lodge. We celebrated our wedding over the weekend of the 5th and 6th of April. We were incredibly lucky to have such beautiful spring weather. We rented the main Alladale lodge, and Eagles Crag. This gave us enough rooms and beds to comfortably have our 18 guests and us stay on site at Alladale for 3 nights. Alladale is doing an amazing job in preserving the Scottish highlands. The planting of huge number of trees and making life for the salmon comfortable is just two examples of the huge work that goes into the preservation of the beautiful Wilderness Reserve. I’m interested to see if the wolf will be reintroduced in the coming years. My wife and I will forever remember this special weekend, and we will definitely be back. We stayed at Alladale Wilderness Reserve with a group of 13 friends, and it was honestly one of the most amazing getaways we’ve ever had. The whole experience was pure magic — peaceful, relaxing, and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery you’ll ever see in Scotland. From the very first day, the team at Alladale made us feel so welcome and cared for. The service was exceptional — everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible time. A huge shout-out to Jan, who went above and beyond to help return an item that was accidentally left behind — such a thoughtful gesture that really says everything about the level of care here. The reserve itself is breathtaking — endless hills, fresh air, and a feeling of total escape. We loved the hikes, clay shooting, and all the other activities they arranged for us. Every day felt like a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unplug, recharge, and reconnect with nature (and each other). We left feeling completely refreshed and already talking about when we can come back. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, explore, and be treated with genuine warmth and hospitality, Alladale is it. Can’t recommend it enough!

Visiting Alladale was an absolutely amazing experience for our family. We stayed for a week in November with extended family. The scenery was gorgeous, the food was absolutely delicious, the Alladale Lodge was cosy and very comfortable, and the staff (Mandy, Stuart, and all!) were supurb. It was an unforgettable trip that exceeded expectations!! THANK YOU!!

Stuart and his team are absolutely brilliant. My friends and I had the best week at Alladale. Ronnie, our ranger, gave us the best introduction to the property and their conservation work. Natasha and Dan are wonderful cooks, and everyone at Alladale is friendly and welcoming.

Dear Alladale team, August 27 - September 3, 2023 This unforgettable week surpassed our - already high - expectations! The beauty of the glens, the absolute quietness, the lovely "Eagles Crag" but most of all the hospitality with which you took care of us in every conceivable way and more than that! The tour with Ronnie, the sea-eagle, the badger traces, the deer, the trout fishing, the biking tours, the walks discovering the little streams uphill, the interesting discussions with Paul about the vision behind the Alladale Wilderness Reserve, the joyfull lunch at the lodge, the never ceasing attention and help of the staff. And on top of that all the skillfull help of Neil when our car broke down. He saved our holiday! We will keep Alladale and you all in our hearts. Thank you so much!
