Alladale Wilderness Reserve

Visiting Alladale was an absolutely amazing experience for our family. We stayed for a week in November with extended family. The scenery was gorgeous, the food was absolutely delicious, the Alladale Lodge was cosy and very comfortable, and the staff (Mandy, Stuart, and all!) were supurb. It was an unforgettable trip that exceeded expectations!! THANK YOU!!

Stuart and his team are absolutely brilliant. My friends and I had the best week at Alladale. Ronnie, our ranger, gave us the best introduction to the property and their conservation work. Natasha and Dan are wonderful cooks, and everyone at Alladale is friendly and welcoming.

Dear Alladale team, August 27 - September 3, 2023 This unforgettable week surpassed our - already high - expectations! The beauty of the glens, the absolute quietness, the lovely "Eagles Crag" but most of all the hospitality with which you took care of us in every conceivable way and more than that! The tour with Ronnie, the sea-eagle, the badger traces, the deer, the trout fishing, the biking tours, the walks discovering the little streams uphill, the interesting discussions with Paul about the vision behind the Alladale Wilderness Reserve, the joyfull lunch at the lodge, the never ceasing attention and help of the staff. And on top of that all the skillfull help of Neil when our car broke down. He saved our holiday! We will keep Alladale and you all in our hearts. Thank you so much! Set in a 23,000 acre wilderness reserve which has been 'rewilded' back to its former natural beauty, Alladale Lodge has been redefining nature-based travel.🍃 They have planted almost a million native trees to date and reintroduced various animal species in the reserve. 🦅 Guests can go on their wilderness safaris and guided hikes too! And the food? 😋 Their chef uses predominantly homegrown ingredients from their gardens, and venison from the reserve. Who's ready to go on a Scottish Highlands getaway?

Wonderful wilderness retreat,eco-friendly,free wild life around you in a mountainous beauty. Definitely for your bucket list. What nature should be like natural and free, with no distinctions. Amazing place.

My family had a wonderful week at Alladale lodge over thanksgiving 2023. Stuart and Mandy and their staff are absolute masters of hospitality — they are friendly and accommodating, and they were somehow able to cater to our every need without being obtrusive in the slightest. Natasha is a brilliant chef and we have never eaten so well in our lives! Three meals a day of absolute heaven! Everyone was so warm and welcoming to our young children, too, even watching them occasionally when we parents needed help. We also fell in love with the highlands landscape; it’s one of the most stunning environments we’ve ever seen. We enjoyed hiking, biking, a Land Rover tour of the wilderness preserve (led by incredibly knowledgeable woodsmen, Innes and Neil), shooting clay pigeons, distillery tours and local whiskey tasting, and a backwoods survival skills lesson with the remarkable Zeki. The rooms in the lodge are comfortable and beautifully appointed, with gorgeous views in every direction. I hope I didn’t forget anything — I also want to thank Mel and Lorraine for being helpful, friendly, and fun; and Dan and Remy for contributing to the delicious food and drink. I definitely hope we can return to Alladale at some point. I can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful and special places I’ve ever been in the whole world.

Highly recommend. My teen daughters, wife and I really enjoyed the beautiful location. Alladale staff were very friendly and welcoming. We stayed at Gillies Rest. Excellent food provided each day, and very comfortable stay.
