Allegany Museum

This place is really amazing. The staff are super helpful and the amount of information and artifacts that they have to enjoy is quite extraordinary. It's probably the best free museum I've ever been to.

Amazing hidden gem. Great interactive experience on the main floor then when you take the elevator up to the second floor great exhibits on local industry and an amazing sleeping beauty early animations. Well worth a visit to see.

What a beautiful little museum. It might be a bit larger, but the due to an event, we could only tour the 1st floor. Wonderful information about the beginnings of Cumberland with some fascinating and beautiful displays that were well made! the AI recreation of George Washington was amazing! Definitely come and see it!

Visited the Allegany Museum for a wedding and the exhibits remained open for us! I really enjoyed the folk whittling exhibit! Very cool!

Staff was very friendly and was able to inform our whole group on the Allegheny history. It’s free and a good place to spend 30 mins to an hour. Call before you arrive to make sure they are open.

Nice museum. Takes up two floors, although really just half of each floor. By donation, so no fee. The first floor goes through the area before British settlement, then talks about transportation (canal, rail, highway). There are some restored antique cars and a wagon. Upstairs are lots of tires (the area made tires). There are also antique toy trains all over. There's a huge dining/conference center too. There's an old time puppet display for whatever reason!
