Allen Park

Great park for hiking and picnics, especially great for dogs!!! But don’t expect greasy! Just lots of trees, shade, rocks and foliage! My grandson and I loved it!!!

Cute park. Nice trails. Well maintained. Picnic area. Relatively quiet considering its proximity to the freeway. Smells good, like Christmas. Some trails are right in the woods, which is really nice.

Nice park in a neighborhood. Different levels of incline. Not a lot of people ☀️ trails are maintained and plenty of picnic areas.

Chill little park with some nice trails through the woods. Also a nice bench with a view of the city. Though carrying my eboard makes walking the trails a lil harder, the view makes it worth it.

Great little park tucked in a neighborhood. Makes for a quick and challenging walk since much is uphill. A surprising little area to rest and place for kids to run around at the top. Very quiet, not crowded and in and out of wooded area. Be respectful since this is tucked in a neighborhood. Houses are very close to this area. And clean up as you go. You can take dogs on leash and clean up anything they may leave behind. Trash cans are at the entrance. There are no rest rooms so just plan accordingly.

Wanted to try out a small park w/ trails & that is exactly what I got from here. It is a little weird being so close to people's backyard in certain areas and that there really isn't any kind of signage, but all around very nice trailing park 😊

Good for a short hike. Around 1 mile to complete all the trails. The path has loose sand and gravel. The paths have slight grades of elevation and some stairs. There are parking spots as well. The trail has lots of trees giving the trail shade. It's good for dogs and has a few picnic tables. There are also garbage receptacles to throw away any trash. The trails are open during daylight hours. If you just want to walk your dog, get away from the hustle and bustle of Austin, or sit down to eat a sandwich, then Allen Park may be just what you are looking for.

Stopped by for a socially distanced get-together with my best friend who was in town visiting from out of state a while back (read: Christmas holiday but I'm the worst about actually publishing my reviews) We'd each picked up meals from the Galaxy Cafe before driving separately to this location. Parking was easy and we were able to find picnic tables after a quick walk up the trail. This park is lovely with the plant life, but the trails seem a little shabby and the park overall is just a tad rundown. The "play area" has definitely seen better days and I wish the trails were more clearly defined and marked. It was a nice reprieve and I'm sure the neighborhood loves having the park nearby, but the overall appearance and upkeep could certainly be improved. I would probably come here again, but it's not my first choice for parks in the Austin area.

This is a simple park tucked away in Northwest Hills neighborhood. You can have dogs on leash here although I've seen them off leash as well. I believe the loop is a mile but I would double check that as it goes fast. You can often find yourself here alone or only another person there which is nice. They do have picnic spots and a few bbq stations. The neighborhood definitely keeps it clean and secretive. Come with the intention of solitude and respect. It's a nice, simple, woodsy trail. (Not a paved path and can only go up so far if you are handicap. The initial ascent is zig zag which turns rocky until you reach the top loop.)

I love this park. I work close by and walk the path anywhere from 1-5 times a day. I must get my steps in. I feel like this trail is totally forgotten about most days. Rarely do I see anyone on it. Very short. But beautiful sites. I eat my lunch in it everyday that isn't raining or below 60. Lovely spot, I must say.

Nestled just off Balcones Dr. and 2222 is a hidden gem. That gem is a park that maybe only the near by residents know about. We hiked the short 1 mile hike yesterday evening and it was fantastic - with the first cool breeze of the season it was surreal and we only passed one other person the whole time - almost as good as it gets!. From 2222 West turn right on Balcones, turn Left on Hart, L on Westside - park entrance is on the left.

Oh! What a wonderful find. Tara M. couldn't have described this small, secluded hiking park any better. I was looking for something new and fun do this afternoon, and that's when I remembered Allen Park. I hiked the trail for 20 minutes and I was the only one there on a Saturday afternoon. It was wonderful and much better than going to the gym! I can't wait to go back for a picnic lunch or maybe bring food to grill out someday because this park is outfitted with picnic tables are barbecue grills.

Allen Park is a gem, mostly natural greenspace. Enjoy the trails! Come help us out for "It's My Park Day!" Brief walking trail, moderately well maintained, in an unused part of a neighborhood. No water features and not much of interest along the way, no views. Some nice limestone and native plants.
