"Thankfully, my mom and I had the foresight to rent bikes with baskets. We've already detoured to Hackett's Orchard and Allenholm Farm, both family-run apple orchards in the town of South Hero."

Great roadside stand where we had our first maple cremee. Delicious! Friendly staff, quick service. Cute goats.

Google
Great place for apple picking! Family friendly and fun! A short wagon ride to the orchard. $13 for a small bag and all you can eat apples while picking them. Very pure creamy creemee with maple sprinkles and delicious! Apple cider was good as well. Unlimited pictures with the goats! Plenty of games for the kids and adults alike. Make sure to check out the country store and don’t forget to get a creemee!

Rode out from Burlington on the bike path. Got lunch with a cool shades set of tables. My wife loved her maple creamer.

What a great find... the dried apple slices are like candy and the maple creamee all but is. So good. "The Hive" Food Truck on site is delicious also. Easy take-out back to our campsite at Sklyland Campground.

They had three different linds of apple. We got each small bag for 8$. This place was large and they had very good play area with farm animals . The eatery place had slush pie , cider drink and cider soft serves. The maple creemes were nothing but the soft and they were too good. They had lot of parking space and apple picking experience here was really good.

Adorable! Loved the outdoor seating option complete with goats. I was taking a break from a hot bike ride. I went for a black cherry lemonade and maple creemee. It was amazing. Also picked up my first stocking stuffers for my boys, Bob Ross candy!

Google
Went there for the maple creamees and they did not disappoint. Nice farm store with local products, usual stuff for small town produce stand, pies, etc. Food truck on the property is very popular.

Nice folks, kids friendly, and good products. Kids are big with the animals, especially "Willy" the donkey, he would take candy out of his owner's mouth and sometimes hang out at the front porch. The maple soft-serve ice is nice, made of pure maple syrup. I really appreciate them selling pure products in the midst of the current massive food impregnation.

Yelp
What an awesome place. If I didn't have to bike 14 miles (plus take a bike ferry) I would have bought so much reasonably priced stuff. Instead I enjoyed a maple creemee (my first ever!) and looked at goats. Awesome spot. Next time I'm in VT I'll be back w a backpack to bring stuff home in!!

Yelp
Maple creemee = bliss. A super charming place that has some great local items and snacks.

Amy F.

Yelp
Excellent maple creemee! Friendly service, and a nice place to sit and enjoy a snack.

Lindsay G.

Yelp
One of the best places in Vermont to get a maple creamee! I highly recommend getting it with maple sprinkles on top. They also had a hot dog stand next door and their hot dogs were fantastic.

Paula C.

Yelp
Stopped by to get some apples and a cremee ! The apples were crisp and delicious and we enjoyed our first cremee ! There was a very nice and friendly lady working there that we had a nice discussion with .

Hank N.

Yelp
Just a cool little Creemee spot after biking along the trail. Great little food truck out here too! Make a stop after your biking adventures by Lake Champlain. There's even an article quoting Howard Dean saying this is the best creemee spot in VT.

Alli D.

Yelp
The best maple creemee in Vermont! Stopped here while on a vacation in Burlington. Such a cute spot, especially for families. They have a bunch of farm animals and a playground for kids

Beth K.

Yelp
What an amazing place! Pick your own apples by fresh apple pie by the slice with maple ice cream. Great farm store with a yummy food truck. Great place to visit in the fall.

Linda S.

Yelp
We enjoyed the maple ice cream tremendously. The apple orchard uses old school wooden crates. I liked seeing this. The kitchen smelled like apple pie. What a wonderful American kitchen smell! It feels warm and happy. The pies were in the oven, and unfortunately impossible to transport by bicycle basket. There's a hopping playground and animals outside. We had no problem parking our bikes.

Kate C.

Yelp
Super adorable farm! We had a lot of fun at the petting zoo and enjoyed some tasty treats to go! They also have an apple orchard.

Bob F.

Yelp
Heading through South Hero VT and you're not sure if you should rent bikes and sight-see, dine at a food truck, browse a country store, have a maple creemee, or enjoy a petting zoo? Then stop by Allenholm Farms and take advantage of all of the above. Pam and her husband are proprietors extraordinaire and two of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. Got kids? There's even a playground on the property and benches for the adults to take a load off. Pellet-filled cones are only fifty-cents and there are horses, donkeys, goats, chickens and even 'Romeo' the goat to feed them to. This isn't Euro Disney or Six Flags: Just an honest, old-fashioned roadside attraction that will charm its way into your heart and have you driving away with fond memories and a smile.

Yelp
Lovely! We enjoyed visiting with the animals and eating our Maple creemies! Apples, maple syrup and maple candies packed and headed back to Maryland. Recommend to anyone visiting the area. Also a huge thanks to the couple who pointed us to Whites Beach and the birdhouses!

Steve B.

Yelp
Not something I would go far out of my way to visit but if you are in the South Hero area they are a great place to visit. The maple creemes are above average..the maple flavor is not as pronounced as other places but less artificial maple tasting than the average maple creeme you get all over Vermont. Wrth a try!

Noah C.

Yelp
If you are visiting South Hero for a first time and you approach this place, definitely stop here. Worth your time 100%. The maple creemees are godlike and the apple pies are nice, sweet, and savory all at once. And, if you come at apple season, the options open up even more, so you can get a Caramel Delight, with a slice of apple pie, a small creemee, a bunch of caramel, and whipped cream, all in a bowl. And if that wasn't enough, after you're finished eating, you can look at all of the animals at the petting zoo they have on the side. All in all, this place is great. You won't regret getting a maple creemee here.

Yelp
We came here for the first time today for some apples. What an awesome place. If you want to pick apples, they take you on a tractor ride in a wagon for a few minutes to the orchard. It's fun and the orchard is huge with no shortage of high quality produce. Prices are great - less than $1/pound for apples. We picked 15 lbs for $9. You can also purchase pre-picked apples in bags for slightly higher prices. But I recommend taking the tractor ride and picking your own - lots of fun, educational for your kids, and you save money to boot! What's not to like? Back at the ranch, there's a store with lots of local products. Also a petting zoo with all kinds of fun little (and big) friendly and furry animals. Super place to bring young kids... they will love it probably even more than us big kids did! Friendly staff and just awesome Fall fun for the whole family. We'll be back!!

Yelp
After a long bike ride from Colchester, this was a lovely spot to rest and refresh. Delicious lunch, water refill available, and checked out the farm animals while eating our creemies after lunch. I hope they finish paving the roads nearby to make the biking easier!

Angela S.

Yelp
I love doing hokey things like going to pick berries and apples. And Allenholm is one of the best places in this area. They're not charging an arm and a leg, and they have delicious produce. They're the only place around that I know of that has sour cherries in the early summer. We've made the drive up to the islands for the past few years to get sour cherries in the summer. And we usually venture up again in fall for the Annual Apple Festival, of which Allenholm is always a big part. In addition to the orchards, they have creemies, a bakery, a little country shop, and a petting zoo for kids. Definitely worth the drive.

Katrina D.

Yelp
This is our favorite apple orchard around! They have the world's best apple pies. If you want, you can just get a slice with ice cream! Ray, the patriarch, makes everyone feel welcome.

Helen C.

Yelp
APPLES!!! Hand picked and pick your own. Delicious. Many different varieties. They are one of the main sponsors of Applefest (Columbus Day Weekend Harvest Festival). They have a cute little store with all kinds of Vermont products: cheese, milk, fruits, jams and preserves, baked goods, and much more. My favorites are the fudge (just to the left of the counter) and the cider (in the cooler). The store has this wonderful just baked kind of smell. It makes it feel so warm and inviting. The smell is probably because of all the wonderful pies they bake. Some of the items are pricey but that is because they are quality and handmade products. Mr. Allen is often in there he is a nice guy and very much a grandfather-like figure. The staff are all really nice and helpful. It is a family run business. They also have a petting zoo outside the store. The animals are nice but a little smelly. For 25 cents you can buy treats to feed them. There is an old tractor for kids to play on and some toys in the yard also. This a great place to bring kids. Parking is right out in front of the store and there always is enough.

Yelp
Service: super friendly. Food: (a) veggie burger was delicious; definitely homemade patty topped with salsa, cheese, and a fresh, crisp lettuce (b) bacon burger was juicy and bun was perfectly soft. We washed these down with homemade ice tea and lemonade. Atmosphere: you'll be welcomed by their resident 25 yr old donkey, Willie.

Yelp
We love going to Allenholm Farms for the best maple creamies in New England! It's a friendly place owned by wonderfully welcoming people. And, there's nothing better on the Islands, when the grandchildren are here, than their farm-centric petting zoo. Buy the food provided for the animals and they will be excited to be hand fed by the kiddos.

Allie I.

Yelp
If you happen to be biking or driving through South Hero - Allenholm is a MUST VISIT. It's a bit of a "jack-of-all-trades" type place to visit. The owners are the nicest people ever, and this little place is more than it appears. The petting zoo and playground/tractor are great for kids. I also rented a bike with a chariot-style attachment to put my son in - it was a great price and the bike was perfect. Inside the farm they have the most delicious maple soft-serve ice cream - TRY IT! They also have a variety of jams/salad dressings/apple pies/snacks/etc etc.

Kerry A.

Yelp
The Allen's & their staff couldn't be nicer. Very welcoming and hospitable. Love the animals and LOVE the maple creemees. I'm addicted!

Yelp
We stopped here because we were exploring the island. We were expecting anything special but we were pleasantly surprised. The owners were friendly and very personable. My wife rented a bike from them and I purchased the most amazing soft serve ice cream I've ever had. They sell one flavor; maple. And it's AMAZING. Go there for the best maple soft serve ice cream. The also had animals to pet and a small playground. There is a small food booth attached to the building that serves really good food as well.
