Atmosphere, service, food, and experience = Excellent! I had the turkey sub...the bread tasted homemade! The turkey was hot and tasted good! Has an "old feel" to it.

The country-style steak was a little too heavy-handed with the salt for me, but the banana pudding stole the show 🥇. Friendly, efficient staff and a sweet mom-and-son lunch moment—can’t beat that.

We tried this place around Christmas time and definitely were impressed. The waitress was attentive, friendly and quick. The food was tasty. The only downside was it was a little pricey but honestly what place isn't these days. We would definitely return.

The food was second to none in the area! I had eggs, cheesey grits, and livermush and I am already looking forward to my next trip through. Thank you for the great service and the wonderful food!

We drive this restaurant whenever we head out toward Polkton and beyond on 74. Always seems to be busy. We decided to check it out for a quick brunch before getting out to golf. Extensive menu with breakfast and lunch favorites at a good price. Service was a bit lacking and it took a long time to wrap up our meal. Good enough prices and food, but don't think we'll be back.

Waitress was speedy and knowledgeable of the menu and how things are prepared. Great variety menu, from Southern favorites to some new entrees to try out. First trip I had marinated beef tips that were fork tender, rice and gravy, crispy fried okra and crispy fried squash. Squash is sliced and lightly breaded there in the kitchen. Second trip I had fried shrimp also lightly breaded in the kitchen and a double of the squash. Food was hoping hot and came to the table quickly. Of you stop here you won't be disappointed. Prices are in line with other restaurants but remember a lot of items do not come in frozen and thrown in Grease. A lot is prepared right there in th back.

My husband has been telling me how good this place is, so on our way to the beach, we stopped. It was delicious! We got breakfast sandwiches to go. Can't wait to stop again and dine in

Spaghetti was very bland. Wasn't good at all..just flat with no flavor. Waste of money..sorry wish I could say I enjoyed but I didn't.

I drive about half an hour to Allen's for their amazing country breakfast. The waitress are amazing and staffs are friendly. I have breakfast places near me but this gem is my favorite place.

Great burgers, fast and great service, the inside has old tools on the wall and gives a sort of a Cracker Barrel feel.

Good homestyle food, cooked like Mama did, prompt service and very clean restaurant. Highly recommend it.

What a little hidden gem outside of Charlotte. We stopped for breakfast on our way to the coast and Allen's didn't disappoint! They offer homestyle cooking at its finest. Everything was large and delicious, The pancakes were some thing to note! Definitely worth stopping if your in the area.

We are on a road less travelled and saw this place and the parking lot was full. That is the code in country terms for this place is GREAT. The country cook making all this deliciousness should be arrested for some sort of violation of OMG this is awesome beyond awesome...if that exists. The menu was simple and reasonably priced. We noticed that everyone around us was eating fried chicken so we had to inquire as to where it was on the menu. Our lovely waitress said that the chicken was on the all you could eat buffet. We totally missed seeing the buffet on the way in. Now ordinarily we would not get a buffet, but all these people around us eating chicken cannot be wrong. I am not going to describe the items and say how great they were, because I do not want to incriminate myself as to how much I may or may not have eaten. This meal came with salad bar, buffet, dessert and drink. $22.00 for both of us. So here is what came with this smorgasbord. Salad and fruit bar Fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, rice and gravy, baked chicken in gravy, macaroni and cheese, peas, green beans, fried okra...and hot rolls. Dessert: southern banana pudding, chocolate pudding Drink of choice to wash down the goodness. I never go back for seconds but the banana pudding was yelling at me. It was that good. PS: I forgot to add the spaghetti and meatballs.

We were passing by and stop in. Had burgers and they were delicious. Place looked clean. Great atmosphere. Waitress was attentive and polite. The only thing missing were liberals. Not one liberal in sight and for this reason we will return. Susan Should have stayed in Charlotte instead with her insulting review.

On our way home from Charlotte we looked up restaurants near us, and found this jewel. The description of comfort food was very accurate. We had 2 adults, and 3 kids (picky kids I might add, 2 teens, and a 10 old) on a Sunday around 1:15. The five of us ate for less than $45, which included drinks. Home cooked delicious food!! Homemade mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, Fried Chicken, Fried Fish, Lasagna and a salad bar are just some of the items on the buffet. To top it off, homemade banana pudding. Soooo good. The owner, Mr. Allen came by our table to check on how everything was. Southern Hospitaloty and great food in a family restaurant! We will definitely go back when we are in the area.

Like their hamburgers and banana pudding. Great stop while traveling on the road. Really friendly southern hospitality.

Stopped by on a recommendation. Clean, friendly, and nice menu. Only open Thurs, Fri & Sat till 2pm. Delicious. Will visit again for sure!

I would definitely recommend. Awesome service, fantastic food. Quick if you want it to be, or stick around and chat. I suggest the hamburger steak!

First time stopping in after talking about visiting this place and we were so impressed! We live only 8 minutes down the road and knowing how good the food is I cannot wait to go back. The owner was there enjoying the food as well and introduced himself as we sat down and offered to help out in any way. The cordon bleu sandwich was amazing and my boyfriend loved his bacon cheeseburger. We both cleared out entire plates and I can't wait to come back and try the breakfast buffet on a Saturday. Highly recommend!

Stop here! Grab a burger and some onion rings! Delicious and good service. The place is incredibly clean. This will be a new "go to" on our travels up and down 74.
