We recently spent a short time at Allenvale Mill Campground, and it was a fantastic experience. The campground was peaceful and quiet, making it a great option for a relaxing getaway. The car park is about 250 meters from the campsite, so be prepared for a short walk with your gear. Keep in mind that campfires are not allowed, but the facilities were well-maintained. The toilets were clean, and the Parks Victoria staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They not only assisted us but also introduced us to many cool things to explore around the campsite.

This camping ground is free, we called the customer service to book our spot at 7. Great walking trails, barely any insects or mosquitoes. Calm and silent, that depends on the people. The space for a camping spot #7 either a 4 person tent or 2 Big Daddy double swag would fit. Taking off 1 star as the Toilets were not hygienic at all, no lights(bring your own), untreated water (doesn’t matter to wash hands but not face or your. The stench of the toilet reached the few camping spots allocated nearby. Overall, great experience for no charge!

Nice and close , however you have to park car 230 meters away or more as there aren’t enough car park. Hard surface camp sites so bring hammer. Gravel road.

Basic campsite with numbered plots. Facilities were alright but the ground was very hard. There is a 230m walk from the carpark to the sites which can be a mission carrying all of your stuff and requires multiple trips. To make this worse in the morning when the rangers turned up they drove up the 'emergency only' path all the way to the campsite. If you're not going to let campers use this path to drop off their gear I don't think it's appropriate to have the rangers use it so blatantly.

Nice peaceful campground, 230m flat walk from the car park to the campground. Or 2.7km steep walk from Lorne Town Centre. Kangaroos and lots of birds around. Many walking trails in the area, 3 drop toilets, low tables (one with shelter) and a rainwater tank. 16 numbered sites that you need to book through Parks Vic (Free for the first half of 2025). No dogs, no fires, school groups use this campground.

Great camping site close to town. The sites are well spaced out so it never felt crowded even though all sites were booked. It had a clean long drop toilet block and a undercover shelter in the centre of the site. Make sure you pack a beach trolley for the 300m walk from the car park along a well maintained firetrack. Each camp site is made of a pad of very hard clay so pack a hammer and heavy duty tent pegs to make life easy when setting up. My young boys had a blast exploring the area and looking at animals that would wander through. I usually avoid camp grounds where you can't light a fire but I would definitely return to this one.

Clean facilities, ground was hard so bring a mallet, very nice and quiet (except for the campers who stumbled in after pub closing time...). Bring a trolley to cut down on the trips to and from the car - parking is 230m away but it adds up when you're carrying lots of stuff. Saw a koala bear, kangaroo and kookaburra up close
